Be careful. They low ball you & ask for more money saying they didn't expect this & that.

Grabber & Sons Landscaping and Nursery

My family visits Grabber & Sons for all our seasonal purchases, such as pumpkins, veggies and…read moreChristmas trees... we absolutely love them. Julie and the other ladies are always so helpful. My daughter-in-law stopped there on Sunday and picked up two pumpkins and a houseplant. The girl who checked us out made sure to educate her the plant (it's of the carnivorous variety, which is new to her, so we really appreciated the info on caring for the plant). Tuesday, she was redeeming her receipt for cash on the Fetch app and noticed she was charged for a Mum we didnt buy. She called and spoke with Meg (I believe) and Meg was great! She said there are times when they use the register for a price check and forget to cancel it out. She apologized a few times and was able to credit her credit card right back, no questions asked. She even sent a confirmation for the reimbursement. Amazing customer service, we're happy to be regular customers!

In my interactions with a few employees I felt apathy.

We were referred to Peter Burke of Gaelic Clover Landscape Design by our landscaper. As we entered…read moreour final phase of landscaping which had (eventual) patio elevation, sun/shade areas differences and drainage concerns, we needed someone that could tie these along with the deer and pests present in our neighborhood into something that would not only be beautiful but grow and flourish. We realized we needed someone familiar with all these factors and the characteristics of shrub, tree, and "pests" we would ultimately consider. Our initial visit was more extensive and detailed than expected, and we knew we had found someone that could overcome the challenges we faced. After review of the project scope and our tastes, which included some Japanese/Oriental plants and shrub considerations, we began the process of viewing and analyzing dozens upon dozens of plants, shrubs and trees. As a result of our meetings and changes, Peter designed a backyard patio and surrounding gardens that were beyond our imagination. We have come to realize that since the project was completed in early June 2022, his knowledge of plant sizes, spacing, bloom times and colors has truly become apparent. While meeting and indicating "Yes, we like that, and that would work...," it wasn't until we have been living with the results of his vision and brilliance that it solidified just how talented he is. The various shrubs and perennials (we did not plant annuals) have begun to bloom and display colors throughout the summer season and have been a true joy. We cannot wait for the fall foliage to reveal itself. The watering and care we have shown has allowed us to witness the growth firsthand and has left us in awe of just how beautiful it looks. In summary, we would without reservation, fully recommend Peter Burke as a landscape designer, as his design ability, creativity, knowledge and patience is well worth any investment. Thank you, Peter!

We started out thinking that we were working with a top notch landscaper, but were sadly…read moredisappointed. Our cherry tree started to slightly blossom the first year, but stopped, supposedly due to frost. There were no leaves on the tree the first year, either. Now in the second year, there were no blossoms or leaves, and we were told by the landscaper that the tree is dead, and it was " just one of those things". There was no offer to replace our tree with a live one, and we now have to foot the bill for a new tree, on top of the high-cost landscaping project that we already paid for. This landscaper also communicated almost entirely by email, made billing errors, didn't give enough notice before coming for annual maintenance, and didn't come until well after Memorial Day for the annual maintenance. The landscaper's lack of organizational and management skills contributed to issues with proper scheduling updates. We also requested plants, for our landscape, that the deer wouldn't eat, only to find three of our tall bushes eaten by deer, when we returned from vacation!!

Very disorganized and inefficient. On one of the days, she showed up for an hour and then left for several hours to give a quote for another job. The next day, she showed up at 11:00 am with her crew and then left for hours to pick up my shrubs and materials. Why not have all of that on the truck in the morning? 3 of the arbor vitae died within the first 8 weeks, and I was told by another nursery that my plants were planted too deep in a clay-based soil, and drowned. Lauren promised to stop back to trouble shoot when all of the beds she installed started growing weeds within days, but later changed her mind, and suggested that maybe someone sabotaged my flower beds. Please do no consider this contractor, and just go with someone else. It will save you a lot of aggravation and money.

We cut most of the stuff down in the Fall of 2018, and didn't know exactly what we wanted to do with the area so we just left it alone. By the late spring of 2019, it was completely overgrown again. We started cutting the stuff down again, got halfway through and just decided we needed to call in the big guns. Enter Bill @ Westwood Landscaping! He was prompt in arriving for our quote, and gave us some ideas about the area. Once we told him what we kind of had in mind, he communicated that with his partner and they sent us a computerized model of what they were planning. We requested a couple of tweaks to what they planned our, and they were more than accommodating. They ripped all the overgrown stuff that was left, made sure to grind out all the stumps and dig out all the roots, rototilled, threw down all new soil, put pebble stone in areas we didn't want anything, and planted our new bushes, trees and hydrangeas. We will ABSOLUTELY be using them to take care of our backyard lawn next year, after we get a pool installed. We couldn't recommend them more! They're the best!
