What a major local gem in Reno. It only took one visit for me to become a fan of this coffee shop/bar in Midtown. You can tell that a lot of thought and heart went into the place. The decor, the entertainment, the products all struck a chord with me. On one side - a super cute pour over/loose leaf tea shop with some records for sale. On the other - a cute bar and lounge area equipped with a vinyl player (Bring one in on a Monday for them to play). You have some house pants, checkered floors, and cool vinyl covers all over the walls that make for some great & hip atmosphere and vibes. Their restrooms, though small, and clean and cool. Their pour overs are so flavorful, strong, and made with beans grounded on your visit. I love that they're flavored and sweetened in a way that allows the coffee to shine. If you're into sweeter drinks, ask for a bit more sweetner or add in a brown raw sugar packet yourself from the straw station. I hear their chocolate pour over is a hit. Matchas - prepared in a similar fashion. Slightly sweetned with subtle flavorings. I tried their carrot cake matcha today and really enjoyed the housemade syrup they used to flavor it with. I also love that they offer loose leaf teas. Their chai was nice, fragrant and great with a little sweetner and milk. Shelby over at the bar area was sooo patient with explaining their menu and suggested a isla bonita pineapple shrub drink for a non alcoholic option. Similar to their other drinks on the coffee side, it was tamed in sugar yet still fun and flavorful. I really enjoyed the tang from the apple cider and the spice from the tajin chili powder as a contrasting flavor. Double check their website for bar and coffee shop hours as they differ from one another. And follow them on Instagram for updates on seasonal specials & themed gatherings. A lot of cool local DJs spin here for special events and parties during the holidays. Tip: sit next to the pour over station next to the menu. It's so entertaining, especially with Sydney working the station (thanks so much for the chat and entertainment. Honestly one of the friendliest baristas I've ever met in Reno). This time last year EP was on the Yelp Food Walk. So I was past due to circle back and rediscover it when it wasn't flooded with event goers. An interesting combination of coffee shop, bar, and vinyl lounge, EP is located on Wells Avenue. Took a break from checking out other neighborhood shops to sit and enjoy an afternoon cocktail with friends. Plenty of various comfy seating areas and about six spots at the bar. I tried the Float On, a boozy adult root beer float using local gelato from Bibo. It's a coffee shop, so my friend sipped the 9 to 5, their version of an espresso martini. The Soul Sipper, a beautiful orange colored cocktail was similar to an Aperol Spritzer. Located on the corner of Wells and Vassar, there's a little more street parking available. read more

The vibe in this place is top notch. The abundance of plants and disco balls was great too. My hubby and I went in on a Saturday night before they got too busy and enjoyed some tunes, a signature cocktail, and a soda. The cocktail list was not my favorite, but they do have a great assortment of spirits to make you something different. That being said, I was surprised that there weren't any coffee cocktails on the menu, being that they are a coffee spot by day. Further, only having one bathroom resulted in lines even when the place was mostly empty. I'll be back to check it out again, but maybe earlier in the day. read more

It's the perfect amount to look through where you can check the whole inventory without spending the day doing it - but it will also take you awhile. Every time I'm here I tell myself I'm not buying another vinyl but they have such a great and unique selection that I can't help it. Also the prices are spot on. No need to check online, their prices are indeed competitive. Vinyl to Listen to: Depends on the day you are here. They definitely have an expansive personal collection and the equipment to play it, but on quieter days you can understand why the barista isn't going to run back and forth to keep flipping records while making coffee. If you want a listen shoot to be here on busy nights and for special events. Coffee: They a great selection of brew to order coffee of varying flavor profiles and they even have a couple different option of decaf. (If you are a decaf drinker I don't have to tell you how nice this is). The coffee shop side of the house has table seating as well as a bar to sit at. Bar: The bar side of the house has space for 16 taps- not always 16 options but darn close. They also have all the fixings for making mixed drinks. As I don't drink mixed drinks I can't report on that facet. Bar space as well as a few tables, a couch and a few armchairs give this place many options for seating. Employees: Every time I've come here I've really enjoyed the energy and the friendliness of the employees. As always, I love to explore new places, especially when it comes to coffee! At first, I thought it was more of a place that with a bar, but since it showed up after I searched "coffee", I decided to check it out. On the website, it states they had coffee, but also a bar. I was a bit skeptical at first, but!! I walked in and my very forst impression of this place was "woooow". It instantly felt like a cozy place. One side of the shop has a bar, and the other side was the coffee shop, with a wall separating the two. It wasn't loud, so it was a perfect place to enjoy my coffee and have a nice chat. It was very chill. They also had a wall with vinyls, and thought that was cool! Staff were friendly, and they were able to make me customized drinks that aren't on the menu. Lovely interior, both at the bar and coffee areas. I went to get some coffee with friends, ordered the salted caramel pour, and loved how unique the flavor was. Equally salty and sweet, It may not be for everyone, but I enjoyed mine. The staff were very friendly, allowing me to sit at the bar section tables despite it being midday. As the day went on, and it started getting near the bar opening, they started to play some vinyls, which was a great background noise while I was studying. I will say that since the entrance is all glass windows, trying to sit down near sunset is quite hot, but otherwise, had a great time sitting down, enjoying my coffee, and getting some work done. It was mid-morning on a weekday, so there were only a few people on the coffee side. The other side which is the bar was not open for drinks, but the space was open to enjoy. This place is so cozy and I love the retro vibe with the disco balls, VinyI records and retro pattern furniture. They were also playing some really cool music. I had a Milli Vanilli pour over. I really liked it and I found out that the Vanilla Bean syrup is house-made. Obviously the ambiance must be different once the bar opens, but during this time of the day, it was perfect. I was there with my daughter and we really enjoyed the music and relaxed ambiance to talk and catch-up. The one employee that made our coffee was also great. Came here with a date on a Friday night to enjoy a cocktail and some DJ mixes. Unfortunately the EP Lounge didn't come through. The DJ had switched nights so there were no tunes and numerous drinks were not available due to the lounge being out of certain ingredients. The place is tiny. Most of the seating options are at the bar. My date and I sat in some comfy chairs and sipped on our drinks. We stayed maybe an hour. I may come back and try the coffee side of the lounge, but there are too many other bar options in town to return to this spot for a drink. read more

Pretty chill spot to do homework! Keep in mind, I came on a Thursday in the early evening. They stop serving coffee at 6 pm, but their cocktails make up for it! I ordered the Thin Fizzy, which consists of cold brew, brandy, Irish whiskey, tiki syrup, and chocolate and cherry bitters. Needless to say, I finished my drink quite quickly because it was just that good. The bartender was super nice and made my drink promptly. Amazing selection of used records! A must stop in Reno. Record/Coffee shop during the day, and bar in the evening. The inside has plants and is welcoming. Plenty of natural light coming in as well. The cocktails are well crafted, and the servers/bartenders are friendly. The beer selection contains some tough to find craft beers, but they also have the basic lagers if you want something simple. The used vinyl section is updated weekly. No "filler" records and plenty of tough to find vinyl in the bins. Amazing coffee, horrible plant infestation. Let me start by saying this is my favorite coffee in Reno. I love pour over coffee and they do it right with some great choices of coffee beans. I also love the vibe here, the staff is friendly, and the vinyl shop is cool. However, the plants are all infested with mealybugs. It is very bad and many of the plants are suffering. It has gotten so bad that my girlfriend no longer likes going there in fear of bringing them home to our plants. We tried expressing this to the barista, who said they will tell the owner but it is unlikely they will do anything about it. I love a coffee shop with plants, but it is a shame that ownership doesn't care to keep them healthy. It detracts from an otherwise awesome coffee shop. read more

Hidden Gem Alert! It's been a while since I've been inside this location and glad my buddy and I chose this as our outing for the day. I was a fan even when the establishment was just the Reno Coffee Company. This is such a cool space to be! The vibe is calm, open space, plants all around, vinyls , and drink selections include coffee and alcohol. This is a split location so great for meet ups, a night out, or an event space. Today was a casual visit my buddy and I were just working away but enjoyed some nice coffee options. I got the morning mojito and she got the chocolate pour. Both tasty drinks and yes they have pastry's the pair with your drink. I was helped by the awesome Sydney. She has excellent customer service and a dope personality to represent this business. This is a place you need to be if your trying to catch a vibe, handle some business, or explore the greater midtown area. They have jazz nights every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. It's an amazing thing to see familiar places transforming into something new and hip! Reno Coffee Company has already been one of my favorite local shops to go to for their unique pour over coffee roasts and specialities. I was able to attend to one of their Jazz Nights this past Wednesday and can definitely confirm I'll be back for another show. The inside space is retro hip with plants, vinyl's and vibes. Cocktail menu fitted the funky theme with drinks like the "Purple Rain" and "Funkadelic" at reasonably pricing ($10-12). Beer on tap, wine and other drink options also available. Seating was spacious and comfortable as I got to sit and enjoy the music. Fast forward to a few days later, a friend and I met up for coffee on the other side of the Bar Lounge area. The baristas who made our drinks were friendly and helpful. I tried their Chocolate Pour with Mocha flavoring with their dark roast. The coffee was made nice and it was a smooth taste in blend. They also have pastries from other local shops like My Favorite Muffin. I was able to get my work done on the orange couch by the window and enjoyed the atmosphere for a few hours. The space would be a nice meeting or for other gatherings. Happy to check out another place in Reno that has been coming up with ideas but also a cool place to hangout. read more

Listening to music while sitting on cute chairs is always such a great experience. We got one black coffee, a hemp and honey, and chai and a green dragon. All of which were delightful. The barista/cashier took our order right away and we received our drinks in a timely manner. Hubby and I ordered a chai and chocolate pour over. The kids got hot chocolate. The coffee was amazing. Hubby said it tasted smooth and no other coffee he's had. LOL it was his first time experiencing a pour over but he was impressed. The boys loved the hot chocolate! You can never go wrong w Ghirardelli chocolate. The only down fall was that it wasn't kids temp so they had to wait awhile until they could drink it. And last my chai was perfect, it was a nice refreshing balance between tea and cream, not too sweet. Stopped in around closing time today and even tho they had not locked the door or seemingly stopped service, told me they were closed. Mind you the only thing that brought me in was a coffee and their big flashing OPEN sign in the window. The blonde barista rudely refused my service even though they had not turned their sign off or locked their doors. Suggestion : turn off signs and promptly lock doors at 4:00pm exactly if you are going to rudely refuse service to someone who has never been in before. read more
