On a great short trip to the Big Island of Hawaii, my girlfriend left her laptop at our hotel in Kona and didn't realize it until we were already in Volcano, a 3 hour drive away. Going back for it would have meant a wasted day, because our flight was leaving from Hilo, in the opposite direction. She was pretty upset about it, but I just started calling and finally found Errand Boy, probably the only company on the island who would do the job. They have a regular run every morning from Hilo to Kona and back again in the afternoons. I called the office in the morning, gave the driver the hotel's phone number, he picked it up in Kona and we picked it up from him in Hilo that afternoon. The price was an amazing $23.40. Errand Boy is a great service that I've known about for years yet hadn't used until recently when I learned they offer a Hilo-Kona courier service. They picked up a package from Hilo and met up with me at a public space in Kona for same-day delivery. There's some flexibility with coordinating pick up and drop off locations and the gentleman I was in touch with was accommodating with my schedule. When I absentmindedly left items in a place I stayed near Kona and then traveled on to Hilo I was relieved to discover Errand Boy. Mike called me back on a Sunday outside of office hours to respond to a message I left Saturday evening. He arranged a pickup and delivery to me in the Hilo area for Monday. Everything functioned perfectly with door-to-door service. Since I was not staying downtown or in a major hotel in either area I was exceptionally happy with the door-to-door aspect.
