My mom wasn't doing well on the Big Island. My sister, daughter and I flew from Honolulu to the Big Island and my mom passed away three days after we arrived. We were there for 5 days and arranged her cremation, scattering of ashes and packing and shipping her household goods and family heirloom items to Honolulu. All this was accomplished in 5 days with the help of very close family friends who helped us with her cremation/scattering of ashes, cleaning out her house, & packing/shipping things to Honolulu. When we started the moving process we didn't know our time schedule but when the realtor said our grand piano had to go, I called Robert at T & C Moving and he was there for us. I had a previous experience with T & C, as they took our piano to storage for a year when we were evacuated in May 2018 , due to the volcanic eruption on the Big Island. He picked up the piano AGAIN (so we could show the house) and gave us a few weeks to pack as much as we could to go into the crate with the piano! They then picked up our boxes, packed the crate to the tip-top and sent it out on Dec. 1st! My partner researched a LOT of other movers and T & C were the most flexible and the cheapest; and most wouldn't even deal with a grand piano. When Robert came out to get our piano this time, it felt like dealing with an old friend. And this time it was a bit more complicated and Robert really extended himself to deal with our time schedule. Great ending for us! I received a quote from my local relocation on the island. Not only Robert asked me what I have to move, but he asked to do Facetime to see the stairs to see if a ramp can be placed. On Facetime, he looked at my rooms to see what I have and the way I am packing some liquid filled glass jars. He is really making sure that things will be well taken care of for the move. He really cares about the whole moving process so that I can feel good and reassured about the moving. He checked my destination address for its surroundings. In the unpaved part of the road up to the house There are trees on both sides. He asked if the low branches need be cut in order for the truck to move through safely. Because I have a few dozens of liquid filled glass jars, he decided to use two trucks so that the boxes do not have to be stuck up too high so that the jars don't break easily. He said that this additional truck is free of charge. This level of care is totally beyond my expectation. Even before the move I can tell that they will do a wonderful job. It all started with my mom wanting to move to SEA with my brother. She told me she called all the moving companies and they were very expensive to move about 2 pellets and a small car. Last month I flew to Hilo to move my handicapped Aunt to North Carolina. Alot to do with limited time, I started making calls to local Moving Companies and after leaving messages no calls returned. We are very pleased with this moving company. We had the most amazing movers (Bronson, James, and Robert). Our furniture and boxes were VERY heavy. To move the boxes and furniture into our home, they had to park at the end of our VERY STEEP driveway, and either carry our belongings or push them on a dolly to bring everything in our home. It was incredibly HOT and humid today. Yet they did not complain about anything. In fact it was the opposite. They were easy to work with - and also pleasant, kind, professional and patient. They were INCREDIBLY careful not to damage anything: *Our furniture ..... or *The home in which we were moving out of and also into our new home. They were patient and did not "rush me" as I tried to position everything in the den so that the rug and sofa were centered. My husband and I were EXTREMELY pleased. I needed a couple of guys to move a new fridge upstairs and remove the old one. I called moving companies in Hilo, mostly hearing they didn't have time or they could do it a month later. Then I reached Robert at Town and Country. He called back 20 minutes later as he had manage to free two of his guys within the hour. I was shocked, as I know from experience it's not always easy in Hilo to get something done quickly. The two movers showed up as promised. They were quick, very careful with my new fridge and the house and also very pleasant to deal with. They even installed the handles! I used them to store my things, as I was moving from Hilo to Washington. When it was time to ship them, I missed the shipping date, as they already had a container going out. But they called me back and told me they would fit my things in last minute! I appreciated that, or I would have waited a few more months and I already had my stuff in storage for two years. Robert was sooo helpful and I appreciated him doing that for me! And it was very inexpensive to ship my things and everything came in one piece and the container was nice and no damages! I appreciated their hospitality to fit my things in to ship it and recommend them to anyone! And they even called to check the container for their okay and I got my stuff! I miss this aloha spirit! The team at Town and Country are amazing!! We used Town and Country to unload our POD at the Port of Hilo, transport it to our new home, and unload it into the house. Robert and Lisa were incredibly helpful in the planning process and the movers (Julio, Beano, and Dyllon) were excellent. We contracted for their services to help us offload our PODS container in Hilo to their two moving trucks, and then he and his guys drove 40 miles to our new home, unloaded the household items, and took the best care of each item. They were such a great help. My household goods were in a 40' shipping container at the port in Kona but the company responsible for the booking and paperwork left T&C Moving and Storage high and dry, thus I was high and dry. Reached out to Robert at Town and Country and in one day they took care of the problem and arranged for delivery and unloading services. They arrived at my site on -time early in the morning and finished by 12 noon. Only took one brief break. I'll use them again if the chance permits. His communication skills are all you could ask for when dealing with the stress of finally getting delivery of the household items we waited 9 weeks for.
