I had a great experience at this Escape Game location! We did Legend of the Yeti -- a new room that just opened this past Saturday! It had an 8/10 difficulty and boy, did that definitely feel difficult HAHA. I mean that in the best way though, it was such a fun escape room with twists and turns that I was not expecting at all. The puzzles were challenging but all made sense to the story. After we signed the waivers, we got to play a mini puzzle games before the escape room. We choose the prison break room to escape from. We were separated and had to unlock each other's prison cells to move on. You had to do some unorthodox thinking to get to the next step. We almost solved it but we ran out of time. Luckily our tour guide showed us how close we got and how we missed some clues and let us figure the rest of it out because it was at the end of the night. read more

At first, I wasn't sure what an escape room was all about, but the kids wanted to try it, so we gave it a go--and it (The Heist, with the soonest availability at time of our walk-in visit) was incredibly fun! As a part of team building at work, I chose this Escape Game activity. My colleagues and I ended up playing two rooms: Special Ops: Mysterious Market and Mission: Mars were the rooms we did with 6 and 7 people in each team. Both were rated at 8/10 in terms of difficulty level. Challenging but both teams ESCAPED, with my team beating the other team within the time limit of 60 mins. Both had right amount of hints, with lots of interactive pieces. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Overall it was a fun and engaging experience that brought our teams closer together, creating a positive and cohesive work atmosphere which was lacking due work from home culture post Covid. You're also allowed take pictures or videos while you're in the game for good memories. 10/10 recommend this place. Looking forward to completing their rest of the Escape Rooms!!! read more

While in Chicago, I decided to try an escape room and stumbled upon this one--and I'm so glad I did! Booking was quick and easy, and the location was easy to find. Parking was a bit tricky, but that's to be expected in Chicago. I originally wanted a private experience for just the two of us, but we were added to a group, which turned out to be a lot of fun! We did the Gold Rush room and managed to escape just in time. The room was challenging, engaging, and had a great aesthetic. We were nervous to be paired up with people we didn't know but we lucked out with a really fun group. We did the Special Ops room and it was a lot of fun! July 2021 - COVID Review: My husband and I visited The Escape Game as part of the GO City Pass! We did the Mission: Mars room, which was so awesome because it was our first time doing a room that was almost entirely technology and code based - instead of the usual with keys and locks. The staff and game master were so fun to meet as well! The place was a bit difficult to find at first from our GPS. Especially since from the direction we were walking from (east), there were two closed businesses on the same strip called "SafeHouse Chicago" and "EscapeHouse". will 100% be back here! There are tons of rooms to choose from, and it sounds like all of them are amazing. Our groups did Mission to Mars and Heist. We had a big enough group that we had to split into 2 teams, so my team obviously did Heist. Not to brag, but we did it faster than most other people apparently. We also beat the other team that was with us by 2 minutes, but no big deal. Anyways, the themes challenging, but not too challenging, the pacing felt next to perfect. I did the prison break escape room here as a group of 8. No spoilers, but overall thought it was really fun, challenging, and the props/set were unique and high quality. The game master walked us through the solution afterwards. Unfortunately, we did not escape (the prison break room is the most difficult) but overall highly recommend. Did the Heist escape room for my birthday. What a fun experience!! I cannot stress how much thought goes into these rooms, and how absolutely thrilling they are. We were initially nervous about being paired with another group, but honestly it is impossible to have a bad time at this place! We had a blast solving all the puzzles together, and we managed to escape successfully. I HAVE to shout out my game host, Sophia. This was my first escape room experience, and it was enjoyable enough to make me want to do it again. I arrived by reservation with five people, and we were joined up with three more for a party of eight. We checked in and were escorted back to our room where we were locked in for an hour. My daughter had done an escape room before, so she knew what we were doing, and with her friend, helped to lead the way. The other three who joined us had done one earlier in the day, so they were on the ball as well. One room led to another once we found all of the clues, and eventually we were able to save Chicago from nuclear annihilation with nine minutes to spare. Fun experience. Well decorated sets. Came home to visit Chicago and as an escape room enthusiast, I had to try out The Escape Game. I had inquired two years ago about having a party over the size of 9 for my mother's birthday but they weren't able to accommodate at that time. This time around, I had the opposite problem. I had too few people in my party. Due to covid, the rooms are now private. In March, before 4pm during the week, you could book smaller parties for the $35.99 per person. It was only after 4pm that you had to book the entire room. For Gold Rush we played at Thursday at 3:45 pm with 2 people and ended up just paying for us. It was great! It was my friend's first time and he was blown away by the tech in the room. We breezed through the first room but the second room stumped us a bit. If I had known more about guns or had any aim, I think it would have been easier. We got out with 3 minutes to spare and our host told us we had the best communication that he's seen in his years working there. I went back the next week with my two girlfriends on Tuesday at 7:15 pm. This was a busier time (another large party was there as well) but our game master was the best! I called and explained our issue over the phone that we had a group of 3 and could not find a 4th person to save our lives. They were kind enough to book us for just 3. This room was harder than Gold Rush and the set was impressive. I think this game is a two for one kind of game due to the difference in environments. We escaped with about 5 minutes left. We ended up buying gift cards after for 20% off the next game. We will be back to play Prison Break which every game master we talked to recommended. I vote they bring that back!!! Would love if there was more convenient parking. If you can get street parking it's somewhat affordable. My wife and I have done somewhere between 30-40 rooms. We did 4 out of 5 rooms here and they are the top 4 rooms we have ever done hands down. Each room is incredibly immersive, the puzzles were super well designed, for example the puzzles actually stuck with the theme of the room. The engineering was the best I've seen, the excitement we felt when we solved a puzzle and the way next clues/areas emerged constantly created a new peaks. The game guides were all amazing and professional. They were fully attentive to us while we were playing (Nathan, Marisha, Mitch, and Pat) and the manager Brandon made sure the birthday girl didn't know about the little surprises we set. The best part was when the last area in the last room we did, they set up a happy birthday sign and balloons which made my wife extra happy, it was great touch! Like I said before, we have done almost all the escape rooms in Chicago and this place is easily number one. I know the price seems a bit steep compared to other places but It's 110% worth it. My fiancé and I did the Gold Rush game on a Wednesday afternoon and had an absolute blast. The game definitely makes you think outside the box and is certainly challenging, but you can get hints from your game guide (as few or as many as you need--we needed a lot). The game room(s) are very intricate in their design layout and the puzzles you work through to complete your "task". There were three rooms in our single game and, unlike other escape rooms I've been to in the past who've typically had one or two puzzles per room to complete, each room in the Gold Rush had 3-4 puzzles to solve. This made it more complex and more FUN. We loved our experience here and will absolutely be returning to attempt to complete their other rooms!! read more

There was an issue where an item wasn't put back into place from the previous group, but we figured it out. It is also not very accessible. There is a part (I'm trying not to spoil!); where you need to move in a specific way...not great for pregnant people like me, hah. I managed though, just a heads up for anyone else. So much fun! I've done an escape room before and it was not nearly as nice as this one or as much fun. We stopped in with a few friends from Canada to change things up - they are really into escape rooms and saw this as a great opportunity to do one! I think the last time I did an escape room was back in 2016. We really did have such a fun time and part of that fun definitely is owed to Cody! He was a blast! We did the Gold Rush and it was the right mix for mostly beginners to handle. There are a few super obvious clues to warm up but the rest really get your gears turning. They did a great job on paying attention to the details in the room and it wasn't cheesy. We were a group of 4 but there was another group of 4 that was scheduled to be in the room with us and THANKFULLY, they ended up cancelling. I think having 8 people in that game would have been way too many people, 4 was just perfect. You could probably push it to 5-6 but IMO it you would just start getting in each other's way. It was brutally challenging and we didn't come close to finishing the room haha. But we both loved it and had a great time. Our game master was good and helpful too. Won't spoil the room for anyone. I have done almost twenty escape rooms at this point, and this one was one of my favorites. I thought the execution was phenomenal and there were a lot of really unique moments. The decor was great, and the attitude/passion of the employees was evident. I did the Gold Rush room with some med school friends, and we were paired with a mother and daughter. We had lots of fun and escaped with a little under ten minutes to spare! I thought the TV screens in each room were a great way to communicate, and I also like how you could get unlimited clues that added to your recorded game time but would not deduct from your real time (i.e. you will get your full 60 minutes to try and escape, but the more clues you use after your free ones add to your "score"). Every time I come to this escape room location our group has a phenomenal time. They have, by far, the most mind stimulating puzzles for all levels and we always have a blast. We have a lot of friends/family from out of town so when they come to visit we always choose a new escape room. So far I've done Gold Rush, Prison Break, and The Heist and each of them I would 10/10 recommend.
