This lobby has been recently remodeled to include some additional square footage for stores. The food court has very limited options. For the first time, in several years, we were told that we had to show our ID to enter the PX. That was new for me. Prices are not competitive. I have seen better clothing selections at other military installations. read more

What's there to say, except it's The Exchange. It's much like a Walmart, but I haven't been to a Walmart in years. You'll find all the privates at Fort Lee hanging out here on the weekends. Not any different from other bases. Not much to say about The Exchange. LOL read more

My husband is a Navy retiree, so we decided to check out the Exchange and Commissary at Ft Lee. Shopping at a military installation is usually cheaper and you do not pay sales tax. So depending on what you buy, it can be good deal. Compared to other bases, particularly the Navy bases in Hampton Roads (Norfolk NAS and Oceana NAS). the Ft Lee Exchange does not offer a particularly wide selection of things. But I probably spent as much on gas making the trip to Ft Lee as I saved on groceries at the Commissary. So I will stick to grocery shopping closer to home. read more

Nice selection of products, Virginia and Fort Lee Post souvenirs, and pretty much any other types of products including fishing supplies. The cashier was very adamant that people in line wear masks, which was nice to know that they are giving a strong effort to uphold the new covid rules. read more

Oh my goodness. My Husband informed me off the cluelessness of the staff here, and I thought he was exaggerating because of the amount of cluelessness he was talking about. He was not wrong. I just called and the run around was insane. The group of people here were unable to have an independent thought of their own. It was extremely difficult to get a straight answer from anyone, and i got passed around in the phone for at least 10 minutes. They ended up selling us a new mower that didn't work, or have an owners manual, and couldn't tell us anything about the mower to start. read more

The Exchange - Department Stores Near Me - Fort Lee, Virginia

Fort Sam Houston is a military base in Texas with a great Post Exchange. That PX is large, has a whole bunch of smaller stores, and carries just about anything you could need. Fort Knox in Kentucky has a slightly less interesting PX that nevertheless gets the job done if you need to do shopping in the area. Fort Lee's PX is... just awful. There's a slightly smaller PXtra that was closer to Golf Company where I was for AIT; that store had all the stuff I needed and wasn't as far away. But the "big PX" as it was called was unnecessarily far from Golf Company and HHC, and it didn't really have anything to justify the longer trip. Let's start with the food court. The food court, like the ones at all other PXes, is a disaster. There is no semblance of healthy food here with the possible exception of Subway. Manchu Wok serves Americanized Chinese food that can get you full at a low price, but it's still pretty lacking compared to what else they could have put here. Charley's is present in all its artery-clogging glory. Hope you don't need to take a PT test here, because the PX's food court surely isn't going to help you with that! The main store itself is nothing special. You can probably count on it being really hot because the air conditioning is pretty useless in the building. Even if you had been sweating profusely from the humidity outside, you can't expect to be cooled off completely after staying here for fifteen minutes. Seriously, this place sucks and there's no respite from the heat. What also annoys me about this place is that the men's bathroom always has a couple of sinks that don't work, and CZee even charges their ludicrous prices for broken internet here of all places. Do not come to this PX. Go to the smaller one instead. That one has a superior food court, a GameStop, a barber shop, and anything you could feasibly need while you're in AIT. There's absolutely no reason to take a 45-minute walk though the 90-degree heat or pay two dollars for a taxi to take you here. It's simply not worth it. I don't know why the PXes couldn't have been all standardized across the board and made like the one in San Antonio so that you don't have a few good ones and a few terrible ones. Greg L's review is accurate. As with most AAFES, this one is really a rip off: they don't pay tax but they keep the prices the same (or higher) as the off-post stores that do. Their selection of goods is fair to middling. They make money off the new troops who can't leave the installation or just don't know better. The truly galling thing is the sign touting how much they give to MWR and family programs every year as if that negated the fact that they are ripping troops off. I do have to give credit to the barbershop for the fact that they now have people who offer a pretty decent cut. read more

I've come to realization that one thing consistent at this place is a bad service. Their employees, from cashiers to "customer service" rep, are all terrible at service. Their prices are not always the best and it isn't the biggest PX so they only have the basics. Not my favorite PX... read more

Dude, if you've been to one, you've been to them all. This is a PX, BX, NEX ... whatever. It's all the same. They want to now be cool and call themselves Exchanges. Makes no sense because The Exchange is supposed to be a hip rebranding -- similar to YMCA being The Y -- but it was already shorten by everyone to PX. (Hardly anyone would state "How about that Post Exchange?") Enough etymology for today. There is stuff here. That stuff is overpriced. Joes (and Janes) don't have much of a choice -- or don't possess the frugality to notice it (the gouging) -- so they shop here. There are no sales taxes, but the increased prices are in itself a form of stupid tax, or tax on the stupid. (However you want to see it.) Pro Tip: Amazon. I never bought anything from here since everything is OVER PRICED but, I love to be here to kill my free time. It is amazing how all the Exchange sell everything at so much higher price than any other department stores. If you still want to pay more money even without paying tax, this is the best place to shop. By the way, the only electronics that can really save money is on the cell phones and APPLE stuff. I still love to visit The Exchange to kill my time so they deserve five stars for it. read more

Ok, this PX has alot of the good stuff Victoria's Secret items, Bath & Body works, Estee Lauder, Clinique, MK purses, watches, huge selection of workout shoes, clothes, household goods, toys etc. Inside the strip mall their are some good little shops but be careful, some stuff is a bit overpriced so you might as well buy it online if you are not in a rush. There is an H & R Block if you need to get your taxes done, Starbucks, Barber Shop for men, Salon for women and various restaurants. including Arbys, Charleys & Subway read more

I was very disappointed with this PX...they don't have a very good selection of items, just the basics. The prices arent competitive. I'd imagine it's limited because it has been geared towards students but since the installation is expanding I hope the PX will expand it's products and choices. I think this is the first PX I've been to that doesn't have a furniture store, which surprised me also. read more

Very small and unorganized. Minimum choices for any type of clothing or shoes for adults and children. Not meant for family shopping at all. There is always 1-2 registers open regardless of the time of day or really long lines. Just like everythimg else on Fort Lee the P/X is aimed toward students. Not good. My husband is an active duty Marine so we have been to quite a few exchanges... Camp Lejeune, Quantico, Henderson Hall, Norfolk among others. While stationed at Camp Lejeune I did a lot of shopping and the exchange and commissary. The exchange, especially since its expansion, has a HUGE selection of items, great prices and when they had a sale you could find some pretty awesome deals. The commissary, although, doesn't have a large enough organic section, also offered wonderful prices and a large selection of items. Now my husband is starioned at Fort Lee. Theexchange is terrible. Prices are high. Selection is pathetic. So what -they have a Coach purse section, big deal. That's pretty much all they offer if you're looking to get a deal on a name brand... Not that the prices are any good. The food court is terrible. And - the commissary is by far the worst I've been to. Prices are ok but selection is pitiful. Produce is not good. Workers are rude. I cringe any time I have to run in and grab something. You're better off shopping at Kroger. Bottom line- if you're military and happen to be traveling on the 95 and see the sign for Fort Lee don't waste your time stopping to check it out, you'll regret it. read more

Most items are overpriced compared to what you can get them for in most Targets, however when you are stuck on base in AIT or haven't yet gotten your car, or for whatever reason just do not want to take a drive out this place can be a lifesaver. The food court is mediocre at best, get there early for your best options. The staff, like most army installation employees I've seen in the states are disconnected and slightly rude. That being said, it is an option to use for the times you don't have many options, so suck it up if you have to and enjoy being out of class on a Saturday, picking up the essentials you've been missing since you've been away from home. read more

Precision Tune Auto Care is unprofessional and unethical CROOKS RUN THIS SHOP! They did work without my approval, I did NOT receive a phone call prior informing me that they were doing additional work on my car. On 10/7/19 , I took a Dodge Avenger in for struts and bearings to be replaced, the mechanic came back with a list of issues that he claimed needed to be fixed also totaling $1485, I asked if the other issues could wait he said, "yes the car is still drivable you can get another 50,00 miles out of it." I told him to do the struts on both sides, the bearing, an oil change and front end alignment, the other issues could wait. I was quoted $1084, parts plus labor, the counter guy said okay he would order the parts. On 10/9/19, I called and asked if my car was ready, the same counter guy said no the parts had not come in, he stated I could pick it up and return it when the parts came in, he expected the part to be in by that Thursday or Friday, he made an appointment for Saturday, 10/12/19. I dropped off the vehicle Friday afternoon 10/11/19 at 1510. The guy working the counter (red shirt said he was the shop manager, no name tag) was very rude I asked for the key to make sure the car was locked and he tried to give me the key to a Kia, got nasty when I told him it was an Avenger. I called Saturday 10/12/19 at 0930 and asked if the car was going to be ready that day and was told yes. I received a call at 1540 that my car was ready and that the shop closed at 1600, I was in Richmond 30+ minutes away. Got there the shop was closed. Called Monday 10/14/19 to see if the shop was open, and told the counter guy I was on my way. Upon arriving I was told by the counter guy that the price had changed, I asked why he said he didn't know he didn't work Saturday. The shop manager, same guy Mr. rudeness from Friday, same red shirt came out and was asked where is the original paper work, he stated he didn't know. The counter guy called the mechanic that worked on the car. Douglas the mechanic decided that I needed new sway bars cause they were frozen, REALLY!!, new shocks, two sensors and that the struts they ordered were not the best so he upgraded them, but he didn't charge me the additional cost, if you had to order the parts how did you have an extra set of better struts? The counter asked if I was called, I told him NO and asked why did he do the additional work without approval, they didn't know! Counter guy said he couldn't adjust the receipt to come back the next day. BULL! read more

This PX is awful. Very disorganized as things may or may not be priced and are scattered throughout the store. The staff is not helpful as they have no clue where items are located either or what the prices are. Definitely the worst PX I have been too. For the convenience of living on post its there, but as for the goods inside its not. I would rather take the drive to walmart or kmart because they will have what I am looking for. I went in there trying to find my 3 year old son a pair of swimming shoes or flip flops and they didn't have any. I went in there a couple of months ago looking for some black shoes for him and they had an empty box and I got assistance and they couldn't even find where the shoes were, sad. I wouldn't recommend the exchange to anyone unless they want some junk food or alcohol. read more

Retired Navy. Seen better "Quick Stops" on navy bases than post exchange at Fort Lee. Customer Service is missing. Bought Lawn Mower and was told by sells clerk to come back next day for the key that starts machine. Had to wait for over half hour for someone to come an open the back gate to pick up the mower. While waiting, saw sales clerk sitting in his car with girlfriend/wife or whoever. LEAVES A LOT TO BE DESIRED. Experiences like this one happen all the time rather than once in awhile. Need to have the base commander observe the service rendered by his employees. I bet it would change if his family were treated like this. read more
