I came here when my go-to barber was out on medical leave. When I searched Yelp for an old-school barber shop, I liked the comments here. And I was not disappointed. When I stepped in, I quickly announced that I was looking for a temporary solution until my barber returns. Immediately, they knew who I was talking about--they went to barber school together. Small world. It looks like Danny only cuts by appointment, but his sister, Aimee is a doll and did a superb "style" cut as she called it. This is probably my favorite barber in town. Besides the unbeatable price, I went to a bunch of different barbers in the area and this place offers something unique. Upon arriving, I discovered brother and sister barbers Danny and Amy Martinez at the helm. The place has been here since the late 70's with both Barber/Hairstylist having a combined of 40 years plus experience is good to know. Pro Barber Danny has a unique style of cutting with his razor sharp shears, while Haircutter/Stylist Amy can assist you in any new hairstyle you want...she's very patient and accommodating. A new addition to this place is Eddie who I've never met, but works the weekends so basically it's open 7 days a week. Appointments are recommended, but Walk-ins are always welcome. I felt very relaxed in this little glass corner shop watching friends/clients pass by and waving from afar... They are very well-liked. This is the best barber shop I've ever been to! I've never met people who were more knowledgeable about hair. I have really thick curly hair, so it's hard to find barbers that really know what they're doing with that, and these do! I absolutely hate changing barbers. But I moved all the way across town. So now I need to find one in my neighborhood. First of all, I want a barber. Not a hair stylist. I want scissors not just a trimmer. I want an old fashioned barber who will take good care of me and not treat me like I'm the next burden on a long list of walk ins. I stopped into this barber shop about a month ago as my second attempt to find a barber in my neighborhood. The first attempt... let's not even go there. At Executive barber shop they treat people like they should be treated. It's like the local hometown barber shop you see when watching Andy Griffith. If you don't know who that is, then you probably want a hair stylist. Danny, the owner, took very good care of me. He treated me well and proclaimed that he wanted my business. That means a lot to me. Executive barber shop is my new neighborhood barber shop. Oh and they give shaves as well. Haven't tried that yet, but I'm looking forward to it soon. Oh and they are a cash only business. They didn't tell me that the first time. I just happened to have cash on me. Usually I am not a patron at cash only businesses because of the lack of convenience. Although these guys make up for it with genuine customer service. read more

Wow these guys are pretty great. I found them on Yelp and was in dire need of a haircut when I rolled in off the street. First I told the guy I wanted a "high and tight" (which is a particular military cut) and I didn't have to explain what it was! What a find! I usually have to tell people in detail HOW to cut a high and tight and this guy knows what it was right off. In addition (I should have gotten his name) he took a fantastic amount of care and did everything with precision. It's been a long time that someone has used shaving cream and a straight razor to perfectly finish the area around the ears (the part that grows the fastest). I expected that it was going to be expensive but it's no more than what I usually pay for my local place. If I need a haircut again and am in the area I will definitely come back. P.S. There's another hair styling place immediately next door. This place is on the CORNER right next to the alley, don't go into the other place. read more

Found out that my classmate was a barber and took no notice of it until I bumped into him and told me to get a haircut that day (spoke of getting one the day before). I was kind of reluctant since every time I've gone to get a haircut, someone always has to do what THEY want to do versus what I want resulting in me hating my hair until it grows out into just random longness. Although this is a barbershop, they also do women and children (even though next door would be more appropriate) hair. I left feeling good and did NOT have a problem paying $15 + $5 tip since my hair came out the way I wanted (or was it less than that? i dont remember). Place has apparently been here since 1976. Jason is the man. I went in after getting told my haircut was too complex at a shop down the street. Told Jason what I was looking for, and homey already had my hair cut out in his mind. Let Jason do his work, and when I was done, it was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Something professional and presentable, but not too old school (since I am still a young guy). These guys are cool as hell, you feel like you've been coming here all your life the way they converse with you. Haircuts are not expensive, and you get quality. I already told Jason I will be coming back. Glad to finally have found a barber in the city that I can trust with my hair. Recommend to any guy looking for a fly cut! read more

Just like the majority of the barber shops in the city - do not trust them when it comes to styling your top hair. No skill with long length hair, i'm sure if you want a basic haircut its fine. Great barbers personality wise, it's just that Dan did a horrible job cutting my hair. The length was uneven and inconsistent across the top, and didn't have the right shape. I was letting my hair grow out, and now it's been sadly destroyed! I love being able to get a haircut with local barbers for decent pricing, but more and more I see if you want a legit haircut you'll have to go somewhere else, and pay more. read more

This is something everyman should do at least once in his life, go to a professional barber and have a traditional wet shave and I did this .. TODAY!!! to get rid of my full beard ... I ended up with a Professional Mustache & Goatee TRADITIONAL SHAVE This begins with a warm towel Your skin is then prepared with a protective layer of Pre-Shave oil and lathered with Hot Shaving Cream. Then there are the barber's ginger fingers on your face. Since when does a guy touch another guy's face? I closed my eyes so I wouldn't seem weird about it. I knew he was wielding that straight edge blade .. with precision and grace he did an excellent job. A Barber Shop in the classic sense. I love this place and love getting my hair done by Amie. I have been getting my haircut by Amie for years and she never ceases to amaze me. She is so talented and really takes the time to get your hair done right. She loves what she does and well....she is really good at it. When I leave I feel like I've been treated at a spa. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone (men & women). And to top it off, this place is so cute. It's right on the corner with lots of light and windows. And people just come in and say hi all the time. It's a great neighborhood barber and just a cool place to be. When you are there you feel like you've been going there for years. This place is great! Aimie is my new regular hair stylist and "beard coach." She knows exactly what to do with my hair, and with her counsel and guidance I am growing a tremendous beard. Seriously, everyone notices after Aimie has cut my hair and it is nothing but compliments. Aimie isn't afraid to talk and she is willing to listen to your deepest concerns, or just light heartedly joke around. I love coming here! I highly recommend her or her brother. I do recommend calling ahead, they are in high demand . A quick note: The Yelp page says they open at 10:00, but Aimie gets there around 8:30, its great for a morning person, and there is bunch of parking at that time. read more

The first time we were here, Amy did a great job with my husband. I mentioned that hairdressers often cut it too short. She went slow and cut it with scissors, then finished off a bit with the buzzers. So imagine my surprise when we return, 7 days before our wedding. I mention again that I don't want it too short and prefer it to be cut with scissors. Amy completely ignores me, going on a rant about how much "time" cutting it with scissors takes. She says "I'm just going around the perimeter with buzzers!" as I watch nervously. Then, she takes the buzzers to the side of his hair, cutting it really short military style! I panic and start asking her loudly, "I didn't want it that short! Can you please use the scissors?" It's now the THIRD time I've asked her to cut it with scissors. She crops a HUGE attitude and starts loudly complaining and embarrassing me in front of everyone in the salon. She refers to me as "the boss" and says very loudly "I've cut quite a lot of hair in my time!!" I'm petrified. I've never had ANYONE in the service industry treat me so poorly. I don't say anything at that point. She loudly shouts, "so, do I have permission to continue?!" At one point, she shouts to a friend passing by, "hey I'm going to need a double espresso today!!" so that everyone would know how unhappy she was with my request. She proceeds to give my fiancé the worst and most uneven haircut he has ever received, right before our wedding. THEN she has the audacity to charge us more than what we paid a few weeks prior, $35. I hand her $40 and my fiancé and I run out the door. Congrats, Amy. You made an extra $10. However your attitude problem lost you what would have been a once-a-month client for many years to come. All because you didn't want to take the "time" to give a proper haircut before a wedding. read more

Dan is a great guy. He has owned the shop for 12+ years and consistently does business with regulars that come back year after year. Some of his oldest clients have been coming to him for 15+ years! After some bad experiences with some other budget shops in the area it was a breath of fresh air to find someone who will give you undivided attention and be ready when you walk in the door. Do note though the respect should always be reciprocal. Don't show up late (or at all) to your appointment or you may not get another! It's great to see someone care about their business and customers after so long. Also, for all those inspiring barbers out there you should talk to Dan! I have never had an experience like this. I called this guy for an appointment and he told me to come in. I said when and he said whenever. I came in 15 minutes later he looked at me and told me he didn't have time to cut my hair and that he had just wanted me to come in so he could see what my hair looked like. Haircut began at 12:55, I left the shop at 1:40. That's right, 45 minutes for the best haircut ever and it was just a plain two month trim, nothing fancy but Daniel did an barbaristic artistic job. Incredible. Finest cut in my entire 71 years! He even trimmed my gnarly eyebrows as part of the cut and cleaned up the edges with a straight razor. Next time I will book a shave as well. Unbelievable this day and age for such a old fashioned utterly professional job. $18. Are you kidding: $18 for a 45 minutes haircut, that's the deal of the decade. The hairdresser made a few rude remarks. As I walked by the fron door I saw him sitting at the door, reading a newspaper. I asked him if he had time for a haircut and I received a painful answer: "man, do you speak English". Well, looks like after 15 years in the country my accent is still not helping me much. Anyway, I decided to ignore this cruel comment and I let Daniel cut my hair. Although I was looking for a quick haircut, he spent extra time with little details and did a great job. I also noticed that the saloon was really clean. I can't recall the last time I was at a salon that looked as good as this one.
