The dealership quoted me a little over $1,000 for the fix. I decided to file a claim with GEICO, and they recommended one of their approved mechanics, Caliber Collision, which was the closest to me. I'm so glad they did. Caliber's quote was less than half the dealership's price (and under deductible) and included OEM parts. The service was incredibly efficient. They inspected the car immediately, the parts arrived the very next morning, and the repair was completed promptly. Barney reviewed the damage and gave an honest assessment recommending not to repair the trailer because the damage was too severe. Hearing his reasoning, we were in full agreement. Given that experience, when looking to add an inverter, Barney was our go to guy. We had a 2000w inverter with 400w additional solar added for a fair price. The Barney touch was that the inverter prewiring by the trailer manufacture was very poorly done. Barney contacted the trailer mfg and the inverter mfg to understand the reasons that it was set up as it was. He reviewed his solution with them and corrected the wiring to reflect standard practices. This is above and beyond what I expected.
