I asked 3 THREE times as to the cost of seeing the doctor - she refused to answer except that it was covered by medicare - I still wanted to know the cost - as I'd been to a doctor this year and didn't know if they covered more than one visit. She finally responded - and then stilll never having eye contact with me - I asked when I could get in to see the doctor - after another moment of NOT looking me in the EYES - I turned and left - THEN she looked up from what she was doing. How rude - how suprising - how disappointing - I'm sad to never have even met Dr. Laura Muller. Please train your staff to show some manners and kindness - shocked at how rude - I find Tampa to be so gentile / NOT Dr. Muller's front office staff!

First, my intake was ignored, as I had written down all of my allergies to not only medications, but food coloring as well! The drops used to dilate my sensitivity eyes were loaded with yellow dye #5! I noticed a white clouded effect in my vision for many hours past my 2:15 p.m. visit, well past 11 p.m. along with swelling and itching and redness that lasted into the following day! I looked up the drops used for dilation and found out they contain the dye. The woman who did my intake put the drops in minutes later! That was the beginning of my nightmare. The doctor questioned why I was using two eye drops for glaucoma when I don't have it. My previous eye specialist had me on them for years for a Condition in my right eye, after my retina tore, to keep the pressure down. This doctor wanted me to go off them for several weeks to see if the pressure went high, indicating glaucoma? No. I know my last doctor was treating me for something different. Then it came time to discuss eyeglasses. My insurance allow me one pair of glasses per year at ZERO CO-PAY! With anti scratch, tinted lenses and even progressives for nothing extra! The woman at the desk insisted that I was wrong, saying, "your insurance never gives you a free pair!" Well, yes they do and I got a pair last year for free, all the bells and whistles! Even a trip focal is covered, zero co-pay! So, I just called my insurance provider and requested a printable copy of my vision benefit and it's in black and white, FREE! BEWARE! They gave me a list of only eyeglass/ opticians they use and told me I had to pick one of them! My insurance company said, "you pick a good place you're comfortable with and takes our vision plan (most local places do!) and we'll cover the glasses 100%!" Yay me, yay to my insurance company! Thank God I knew better! Find another reputable eye specialist!

When I called to get an appointment with a different doctor at the Macula center for my Glaucoma treatment, they said they didn't have anyone at the moment and did not know when they would have a replacement, so they could not make an appointment for me. I also learned at that time that the retina specialist who I had seen before, Dr Deupree, had left a month earlier. Is this place shutting down?

I made an appt at Walesby based on Facebook Neighborhood group recommendations as well as the yelp reviews. Dr Walesby and the staff exceeded my expectations. I had a broken wrist at the time, and so I was thankful to be able to fill out the patient paperwork electronically ahead of time. It's a small office, so there was no wait time. In addition to my normal eye and contact lens exam, I also ended up having an ulcer on my cornea, which Dr Walesby helped me to treat with no issues. Was able to order my years supply of contacts through my insurance with them, and pick up a few days later. Glad to have found a new great place!
