I had a fantastic experience at The Eye Shop Optometry!! It is located on the Albertsons plaza. There's plenty of parking. Making an appointment was as easy as calling the optometry and giving them information on my insurance plan (where they are able to look it up and tell you the benefits). On the day of the appointment, I recommend coming early to fill out the intake form as a new patient and bringing your existing prescribed glasses. Afterwards, I took some quick check-in test before seeing the doctor. Dr. Nguyen did my eye exams and she was wonderful! She was thorough, explained everything in an easy to understand/detailed manner, gave really practical and actionable advice, and answered all the questions I had. The front desk folks, Ben and Raul, were also amazing!! They were super friendly, kind, and helpful throughout my visit. What I most appreciated was that they explained all the benefits of my insurance and shared their recommendations on what frames and lense features to choose given my benefits. In terms of frames, they carry name brands like Gucci, Fendi, Versace, Prada, Tom Ford, etc. Plenty to choose from. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better optometry experience. read more

I had my first appointment at The Eye Shop last Friday and was really impressed. Since I was a new patient, of course there was paperwork, but the staff made it quick and easy to get through, which I really appreciated. The office is modern, clean, and very well organized, which immediately gave me confidence. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience smooth from start to finish. What really stood out was the technology--they seem to have all the latest equipment, which was a huge step up from my old optometrist. Because of that, Dr. Justin was able to detect potential health concerns not directly related to my eyes, and recommended I follow up with my doctor. That kind of thoroughness really showed me he cares about his patients' overall wellbeing, not just their vision. Dr. Justin took his time listening to my concerns and explaining everything clearly. Can't believe I've been coming here for 11 years according to Yelp... This eye shop still looks clean and very up to date. Over the years, I have since left my contacts behind and gotten lasik, brought my kiddo here for her eye exam several times, and have come here myself for occasional eye check ups. Staff are always consistent in their good service and friendliness. Anyway, felt like I should update my review (even though its still 5 stars) because I had an eye scare a few days ago. Rubbed my eyes at night and one eye became blurry~had double vision. It persisted for a few hours and my hypochondriac self thought I was going to go blind...yea super dramatic. I knew the ER wouldn't do much and my friends there would laugh their pants off if I went for something like this...so I waited til the next day and called the Eye Shop. They were booked for 2 weeks so I just asked to be put onto their waitlist in case someone cancelled....I was in the middle of semi freaking out and trying to figure out alternatives when they called back less than 30 minutes later and fit me in for a few hours later! Fast forward to my appt. They did some eye puffs to check my eye pressure and took pics of my eyeballs. Then saw Dr Hu and he was great. Basically all the scary stuff was ruled out and I likely had an episode of super dry eyes that warped my vision temporarily but I also had some clogged glands in my eyes that needed warm compresses. Aside from that just some vertical corneal abrasions that were very superficial~likely from rubbing my eyes. Everything was explained to me in layman's terms---anatomy and all. The guy knows what hes talking about and I was super relieved after listening to all his detailed explanations. His "bedside" manner is great. Apparently they also see/treat simple eye concerns such as pinkeye, corneal abrasions etc They also have a pretty decent selection of sunglasses/glasses. read more

My Rayban dark lens were accidentally damaged, so the Eye Shop Optometry was kind enough to send it back to repair the lens. After receiving the Rayban back, the lens were of different color, so I visited them again and they sent the glasses back for another repair. I just received the glasses back, AND the color of the lens were still wrong. I don't know what to say anymore. I am disappointed and frustrated that I have to keep going back and forth. read more

Dr. Hu has been my doctor for many years. He was the only doctor who was able to diagnose and provide for me the best option for optimum vision. For 13 frustrating years, I saw different doctors who were unsuccessful to treat and prescribe me the right glasses and contact lenses. Dr. Hu is the best! My family and I have been seeing Dr. Hu for our optometry needs for several years now and have seen him both at this location and his S. Pas office. He is very patient and thorough with his exams and explanations of our eye health. His office staff is also very nice too, and I appreciate the text reminders to schedule my next exam. Pre-covid, they had a coffee station and water so you can enjoy refreshments while you wait. The office is Covid compliant with temperature checks at the door before you can go in. They have a good selection of frames and they encourage you to try whatever frames you want, but ask to turn the frames over so they can disinfect them after you try them. I always feel well taken care of here at The Eye Shop. The staff is SO friendly and they're super quick to respond and communicate very conveniently through text. It's simply a wink to order more contacts or ask random questions about my eyes through their texting platform. Dr. Hu himself is beyond awesome with his considerate explanations of everything going on with my vision health. I used to go to my Uncle Gerry for eye care, who was so caring, but has since then passed away due to COVID. Dr. Hu is the perfect substitute for Uncle Gerry in that he, too, is very caring and pays attention to the details. Dr. Hu was the one who taught me some brilliant pro tips on how to make sure I put my contacts in so that they're not blurry by using the little guide lines on the contacts, and to save the contact lens container solution until it's in my eye so I can use it in case the contact has dust on it and have to clean it. Great experience with the staff (Liz and Emily) and Dr. Hu. They were able to provide me with the cost to examine my eyes and give me a prescription for both glasses and contact lenses before I even made my appointment. Their equipment is state of the art and I did not have to have my eyes dilated. Dr. Hu explained my vision issues to me and also suggested changing to a thinner contact that provides more oxygen to the eye. Gave me sample contact lenses to try out. Once I ordered my contacts online, they emailed me the prescription. Another good thing is when I went to pay for my exam, Liz told me that my insurance pays for an eye exam every 12 months. I did not even know that this was a part of my medicare advantage plan and was grateful that she found this and saved me money. This was my first time going here and I will definitely come back. My former eye place could not tell me how much my eye exam would cost in advance and as a consumer I wanted to not have any surprises. Thankfully Emily was able to tell me. read more

I've been going to the Eye Shop Optometry for many years with Dr. Anh. I took a break during the start of Covid, but recently went back for a check up. I was surprised to hear that Dr. Anh had sold her business and I was a bit worried that I wasn't going to get the same quality of care. However, I met Dr. Hu, the new owner and Optometrist. He was excellent! During my visit, they performed a few tests that I've never seen before. It was impressive to see them embrace new technology. I finally got to see Dr. Hu in the visit and he was very thorough and explained the process. He also looked up my insurance to see what other benefits I should use, which was very nice because I didn't used to get this type of treatment.
