We found an optometrist location closer to us that feels just as clean and bright as our previous one. I appreciate how the office staff also has a very inviting manner. Besides that, it was easy to deal with any insurance questions along with what our whole family needed. You can easily shop for frames and ask questions without feeling pressured to do anything but find the right fit for yourself. The optometrist and staff is very welcoming, patient, knowledgeable and attentive. This office uses modern equipment and has a great selection for glasses. Very clean environment. My eyes have gotten progressively worse over the years and the doctor suggested a different approach to use one eye for primarily reading and the other eye for distance. After 2 weeks my eyes and brain has fully adjusted and I've been happy ever since. This is a small optometry office but it's local and convenient. The staff are very nice and helpful. The optometrist is a cool guy, but he's not too helpful when I tell him about the problems with my contacts. My lenses aren't comfortable and it always feels like there's something poking me when I have them on. When I told him this, he had me try astigmatism lenses, which made me feel that "something" even more! Nothin was resolved. sigh. This is an exceptional optical store with exceptional service. I brought my existing glasses in to get new lenses but had mistakenly given them the wrong pair of which I have another identical pair that actually needed the lens replacement. The optics lab has misplaced the old lenses that they would normally return to the customer. When the lovely young lady, Annie, discovered the situation, she offered to make another pair of lenses for me at the store's expense. That is what I call real service. read more

Been coming here over 20 years. Dr Hsu is so knowledgeable, the ladies behind the counter always make it so easy, and the location can't be beat. They are also experts at dealing with insurance, which you don't get at a lot of doctors offices. Recently my daughter began needing glasses, a result of virtual school on a screen, and we thought she was doomed to being "legally blind" like her dad. Thankfully, Dr Hsu suggested Ortho-k and now Misight, and her vision has not gotten any worse. Great people here. read more

Yup, I'm going to do it. I'm yelping the eye doctor. Five stars for this fine Asian establishment next door to 99 Ranch. I have been coming here since I was in 3rd grade. The very kind mom and pop (+ granny) team has furnished me with pair after pair of great glasses for the last 10+ years. No matter what the destruction, Fashion Optical can really do some magic (I remember them welding my glasses back together when I was in elementary school). They have a HUGE selection of designer specs, and they totally work that Asian $$ magic. You know what I'm talking. They also have tons of prescription glasses, like Ray-Bans, and they can do all this crazy tinting stuff right at the store. The turnaround time is super fast, and Annie, the store manager, is totally sweet and tries to hook it up when she can. Get your Dolce, Prada, Fendi, and Chanel on. Woohoo! read more

I do not recommend this optometry for those with special vision needs. I have a very high prescription and require "medical necessary contact lenses". These have been covered in full by my insurance in the past. The staff at Hsu's tried to charge me full price for the contact lenses and I had to correct their error. (They also charged me for the fitting, which I was not charged in the past.) If you are very high prescription or bordering very high prescription or have other special needs, do not come to this optometry. They lack experience and will not know how to properly bill insurance. You may end up being charged for services that you do not need to pay for. read more

The staff here is amazing! The girls who work at Dr. Hsu's office really go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of and to help you get the best possible deals. I live in Rowland Heights and go to school in San Diego so it's a bit of a drive for me but I still go here for my annual check ups and contact lenses. I've tried two other optometrists that are closer to me but none of them were comparable in both service and price. The girls will take the time to call your insurance and work with them and also sit you down to discuss all possible options and rebates with you, even breaking down the prices of various contact types to make your decision easier. I have so many experiences with them where they really went above and beyond in helping me. Cheapest I've ever paid for contacts with the best service! What more can you ask for? read more

So I came here today for a check-up plus I needed new contacts. I had trouble finding the location but soon enough realized it was in the 99 ranch plaza. Parking is a breeze since I came on a not so busy day and hour. When I got in the receptionist asked me for my information even though when I made the appointment the day before she had already asked me the same questions (waste of time.) Anyways, afterwards I went in to see the doctor to do the tests. I'll say having been to over 5 different opticians, She seemed very uncaring and just "quick" to get me in and out. I guess that could be a good/bad thing. I was in and out of the exam in less then 10 min. However when I went to talk to the other person that worked there helping me with glasses, She was very helpful and too the time to really answer my questions/ find a pair of glasses. Although I didn't see anything I liked, I appreciate her helpfulness. read more

I've been going to this place on average once a year since I was in 2nd grade (I'm 21 now and recently decided to go somewhere else for my eye needs). As a child I came here because my parents found it convenient to go to an Asian establishment. As a young adult I realized that this place does not compare with bigger establishments and online stores which has more to offer. Their staff was very apathetic and they gave me attitude when I requested for them to order a new pair of glasses for me rather than buy the one they have on display. When I told them that I had bought a pair of glasses online they had the audacity to lecture me about how I had made a bad decision. Given that their are other stores that have friendlier staff and more up to date selection, I would advise people to pass on this store. On an unrelated note, the food court next door is really good. read more
