I'm a longtime JINS customer, and when I needed to update my prescription, I decided to get my eye exam done through JINS this time. Their technician, Anthony was the one who helped conduct my exam. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and approachable. Unlike other places where I've had my eyes checked, I felt like JINS did a really thorough job of testing not only my vision, but also my depth perception, color deficiency, and peripheral vision. The last time I had my eyes checked at a different optometry place, I had to wait for over an hour even though I showed up on time. As I waited around, no one came to check in on me or apologize for the long wait. When it was finally my turn, my test was no longer than 5 minutes and I was told my vision hadn't changed. At JINS, I showed up on time and they took me in at the exact time my appointment was scheduled. I shared that I was uncomfortable with the puff-of-air test, but thank god they didn't have that machine and Anthony was able to measure my eye pressure using a different method. I also shared that I get nervous with things being so close to my eyes/face, so Anthony walked me through everything he was doing which helped ease my nerves. Keep in mind that the actual vision test was done through telemedicine, so the doctor wasn't physically on site. I was a little skeptical at first, but the Zoom call was high quality and I could hear the doctor clearly. It was so cool that she was able to conduct the exam remotely. She took the time to show me the pictures they took of my eyes and explain what I was looking at and why my eyes were healthy. It really is a comprehensive exam like they say it is! The whole process was surprisingly seamless and convenient, and I never felt like the telemedicine aspect took away from the quality of the exam. Afterwards, I asked Kelsey to help me pick out a new pair of glasses. She's helped style me in the past, and I've always been really happy with the frames she picks out for me. She was wearing these super cool Barbie glasses with rose pink lenses. She's such a fashion icon, so of course I always ask her to style me! She asked me how things were going, and I told her about how I couldn't work the last two days because of a migraine. She told me that she's spoken with customers who have had issues with migraines before and how wearing pink-tinted lenses helps with it. She let me try on pink demo lenses and they really did feel so much more comfortable to look through. I normally wear transition glasses because my eyes are so sensitive to light, and now I feel like I have an option to wear indoors as well for when my eyes feel strained! So now I needed help finding a pair of glasses that would also look good with pink lenses. She remembered that I'm a huge anime fan and she pulled out these really dope Naruto frames from the back and I was like yes these are the ones!! Anthony helped me out at checkout and the process was so seamless. I do have to wait 2-3 weeks for my pink glasses to come in but that time goes by fast and they text you when it's ready for pickup or shipping. And of course I don't want to forget the other service specialists that have helped me in the past. They're always so friendly and honest about what you actually need. I never feel like they're trying to upsell me or push products just to make a sale. Even though they're out of network for insurance, their glasses are incredibly affordable and I never feel like I'm breaking the bank trying to get a pair of glasses. They remember me from the last few times I came in to try on their collaboration glasses, and that always makes me feel welcomed and special. I actually wrote a review when I got my first pair of Snoopy glasses from JINS, and I've been back a few times since then. I want to highlight how consistent the staff and service is. The customer service is always great, and the staff genuinely makes the whole getting glasses experience enjoyable. If you have a pair of JINS glasses, they offer free adjustments, cleanings, and nose pad replacements. They're always dropping new styles and the glasses are all so lightweight and fashionable. After they told me they were missing one of my measurements, I drove back to the store on another Friday after work to have it taken. I live an hour and a half away, so this wasn't a quick trip. During my second visit, another employee took my measurements and told me everything was good. When I got my glasses in the mail, I realized they had never recorded the measurement I came back to give them. It finally made sense why Kim had texted me after my second visit saying I needed to come back, even though I had already been there. Because that measurement was never entered correctly, my glasses were made wrong. Everything was blurry, and wearing them made me dizzy. I even messaged Kim to ask if the measurement on my receipt was correct, and she told me it was. It wasn't. So I had to make a third trip back to the store. Valerie made the situation even more frustrating. She changed the measurement right in front of me but kept saying it had been correct the whole time. Then she pulled up my old measurements from the Del Amo location, where I had bought the exact same glasses before, crossed out the incorrect number on my receipt, and tried to print me a new one with the corrected measurements like that was supposed to fix everything. It didn't change the fact that I had already made three extra trips because of mistakes on their end. I understand that mistakes happen, but the lack of communication between employees, the repeated errors, and the way everything was handled made this a really disappointing experience. read more

Edit:While my experience wasn't great Marcos the Manager reached out and heard out my concerns. Im glad to have heard back from him and made things right. Yikes dont come here unless you want to take multiple round trips back here for them to correctly get the order. First time they forgot to record one of the measurements for the second glasses Then they forgot AGAIN so i had to drive back to re-record it. Then i had to come back a third time because the receipt had the incorrect measurements and i had to go back in person for them to correct it AGAIN The worst part was the staff was rude and did not care that I had to come back multiple times. They just shrugged their shoulders and basically said oops we'll get it right next time. read more

Our daughter wanted a new pair of JINS glasses before returning to college. She also wanted to update the prescription on her JINS sunglasses. Despite our disappointing experiences at this location, time constraints forced us to give them another try. We arrived just as they opened. Our daughter already knew which glasses she wanted. She checked in and was first in the queue. A couple minutes later Valerie called us up to the counter. She had the glasses our daughter selected and began her order. She walked us through each step of the process, highlighting important details while patiently answering all our questions. Valerie also easily handled the prescription update for the sunglasses. She re-confirmed our daughter's address and phone number for the shipment, pointing out that although the receipt notes "Pick-Up", her glasses will be shipped. Later while having lunch across the way at Din Tai Fung, our daughter said she thinks her prescription may have been entered wrong. She felt bad about having to double check, but we wanted to be sure. After lunch she walked over to see Valerie again. Although it was busy, Valerie took the time to pull her orders, explain what our daughter saw and confirm that her prescription is accurate. Jins at Santa Anita has been my go-to glasses store for many years now, probably since they opened at the mall. This time, I stopped by to replace my lenses in my Jins frames due to a prescription update. Marcos was incredibly helpful, explaining the differences in the lenses and which ones he would personally recommend due to my higher prescription. I appreciate the attention to detail and concern for eye strain/comfort! He also helped deep clean my glasses which was a bonus. I highly recommend Jins for the convenience, but especially for those with higher prescriptions. Their lenses are never super thick and I can comfortably wear my glasses all day without eye strain. When visiting Taiwan I had a great experience with JINS so I thought I would try this location. Only to walk away disappointed and no glasses. The customer service at this location is so poor. After walking in and asking some questions, we returned to select frames. The screen showed a wait time from 5-10 minutes but we waited over 20 min. Only to be met with an employee who doesn't smile and answers questions with either yes or no. Apparently we were given the wrong information before but instead of trying to help us, this non smiling employee just stood there asking "do you want glasses or no?" After this experience I would rather fly back to Taiwan because the JINS does not live up to their name. read more

If you do choose a frame from the more limited selection (and you will not get help from staff to do so), it's a 30 minute wait just to learn how much your prescription would cost to put in the frames. Such a nice experience. Was able to comfortably try on several pairs of glasses. I was having trouble with picking between my top two choices and wonderful Kim was able to help me, she actually suggested an alternative pair that ending up trumping my options. I was in need of new glasses and heard that JINS has glasses frames that are better suited to Asian faces (i.e., low nose bridges), so I decided to give them a try. I have never had a pair of glasses that didn't rest on my cheeks or weigh too heavily on my ears in some way, so the thought of having glasses that actually fit was intriguing. I came by on a Friday evening and was helped by a younger lady in glasses. I didn't catch her name, but she was so friendly and patient as she walked me through the steps of measuring my pupillary distance, adjusting my frames, and placing the order for my glasses. I was a little disappointed that my glasses wouldn't be available in the advertised thirty minutes (which is totally understandable; I came pretty late in the day and the staff explained that they were backlogged with all the orders from earlier that day), but they offered me next day pick up or free shipping to my address. I opted for the latter, and was told that I would receive a confirmation email with my tracking number. Unfortunately, I never received that email, and whenever I would call the store's phone number, no one would pick up. I called over the period of several days, and even emailed the store, but no response. Ultimately, I received my glasses within a reasonable timeframe, and they're perfect, so I have no complaints. Located at the center on the second floor of the Santa Anita mall, this Jins shop is very convenient. They advertise that you can get your prescription glasses in 30 minutes. If it's busy, you can grab them in 1-2 hours. You walk around their selection of prescription glasses and sunglasses. Unfortunately, since it's so busy - the glasses tend to be pretty smudgy. My overall experience at Jins was only salvaged because of Anthony. Not to take away from any of the other workers, but he truly went the extra mile in every aspect he could. Unfortunately, all my previous visits had major mishaps with timing, quality, and communication. (PLEASE SEE ATTACHED IMAGES) I thought surely I would not be back as I was extremely dissatisfied due to numerous preventable issues tainting my experience in a row. Several times I have returned to Jins with a preconceived idea of how I was going to be treated, and Anthony has not only remembered my case and experience, but elevated it each time. Throughout this whole duration today when I returned for an adjustment, Jins was rather busy and Anthony was still balancing collaboration with his coworkers, full attention on my needs and service, as well as answering any questions I had and more. He targeted my concerns and explained matters I was confused on, such as the glasses getting dirtier quicker- I was missing anti-static coating. He thoroughly cleaned my glasses for me with their solution and showed me a better method of cleaning at home to fix this issue. Anthony SERIOSULY needs a raise or a bonus. I was referred here by my brother. He's a fan of this place. I was happy with the quick service I received on my first visit. I got my eye exam and eyeglasses in less than 2 hours. It was also a good deal. $89 eye test and $90 glasses made in an hour. I came back months later to get a second pair of eyes, because I'm kinda cutesy klutzy and just need another breathing pair around. My dad tends to find things while taking the trains and buses. So, he's got these Burberry frames he found that I totally have to use. I took them to the Santa Anita mall Jins. I was attended my a nice, but very clumsy boy. He told me that if I used my own frames, I'd need to shell out more cash. He also said that the clear lenses, which I wanted because they were free, were out. So my glasses were going to take eons to make, instead of their traditional 30 min. I agreed, because I love my dad and what he finds and, well, because I'm a nice person. I have been stressing about this purchase. I was thinking I was ripped off. This guy was a bigger klutz than I am, and maybe I'm not getting anything at all! But, after an entire month, I have received my second pair of eyeglasses (dark-rimmed ones) and they are just lovely. It kinda has made me forget how this young blonde boy was dropping things on the floor, stuttering when he spoke to me, and was just overall concerning. I really thought I threw $150 into a mall trash bin. It doesn't exactly redeem them. If you call them, they never answer. The machine actually slaps your face and hangs up on you. More people need to be talking about Jins! They have a wide variety of Japanese-style frames and at such reasonable prices. I've never been keen on big name brands so if you just want stylish frames without the high price tag of a name brand, this is the place to go. I got my glasses from Jins and after a week, I found the nose pads to be a little uncomfortable so I went in and asked for an adjustment. Edwin assisted me and not only adjusted the tilt of the nose pads, but also switched them out for me with more comfortable silicone ones. Such a great experience and quick quality service! read more

I love to give reviews when they are warranted. I was at Jins Santa Anita today and was assisted by Kim. She cleaned my glasses and checked them out and did a spectacular job. She is an amazing JINS Cast Member. She has a personality of Gold and makes you feel welcome. If you go there, ask for her. Your experience will be super great. I hope she gets recognized for the great job she does. On another note, I believe JINS has the best quality lenses out there. I have three pairs of glasses with progressive lenses, two with transition lenses and one with tinted lenses. They did a perfect job on cutting the lenses and were right on with the prescription. I've been a loyal customer at JINS for the three or four years I've been wearing glasses. They always have great, fast service and same day pick up. The pricing is very affordable and there are several different types of styles to choose from for prescription glasses and sunglasses. I was helped by Karen and she was super sweet! I love my new frames. The quality of the lens is perfect and you get to walk around a nice mall while waiting for your glasses to be ready. Mine took just about 30 mins. You can use your HSA card to get it but there are no refunds for that. If you get frames+lens, you have 30 days to refund it if something doesn't work out. I've used old frames from JINS for a new prescription in the past. While it wasn't free for the lens the second time, it was still at a very affordable price. read more

I've gotten JINS glasses several years ago from here. They have a nice selection of low nose bridge frames. This time, I came for a pair of non-prescription glasses with blue light lens. Edwin, the assistant store manager was very nonchalant, but he helped me at checkout and I acknowledge that he did great by finding the 40% lens I wanted. The glasses looked great and I had them for 3 weeks, but unfortunately I couldn't adjust and kept getting a headache every time I wore them and only when I wore them. I don't know why, maybe it's the wrong fit. I figured this inconvenience wasn't worth $270, so I came back to return them. Edwin happened to be the one to process my return. He asked why I wanted to return them and I told him about the headaches. Then in the most condescending tone, he proceeded to tell me that shouldn't be the case because there's no prescription and that I should get it checked out because I must have an underlying medical condition. I felt like that was rude unsolicited medical advice from someone that's not a medical professional. I won't be coming back ever again, but I hope Mr. Edwin learns some customer service manners. read more

Order for pickup only, never for delivery. I wanted to share my recent experience with JINS at the Santa Anita location in hopes that others do not go through the same issue I did. Long story short, my glasses (no prescription, just blue light filter) were never shipped, even after 20+ declined phone calls and an in-person visit two weeks after placing my order. I placed my order on October 4, 2025 around 6:30 PM with a female associate (balayage hair, around 5'3"). Everything seemed fine at first. I waited about 30 minutes, which I did not think was unusual since it is often busy. They told me the glasses would be ready for pickup the next day, October 5. Since I live a bit far from the store, I chose delivery instead even though it would take 3 to 5 business days. I was told they would arrive by Friday, October 10. The following week came and I still did not receive any confirmation that my glasses had been shipped. I waited until the end of the week and checked my email daily, including my spam folder, but nothing arrived. So I started calling the store. - Sunday, October 12 around 4 PM: I called twice, and both calls were declined after being on hold for a couple of minutes. - I assumed weekends might be busy, so I called during the week. - Monday, October 13 around 1:40 PM: I called twice more, and both calls were declined again after about a minute on hold. - Wednesday, October 14 around 2:15 PM: I finally reached a young male associate. He checked my order and told me my glasses were ready and only needed to be shipped. He said they would be sent the next morning and that I would receive a confirmation email at the latest by then. I felt relieved and decided to wait. The next day came, and still no confirmation or update. I started to worry I was being scammed. I tried calling again and had 15 calls declined, each after waiting on hold for about a minute. I also emailed the store explaining the situation, but never received a response. At this point I felt defeated, so I took time out of my day to visit the store in person on Saturday, October 18. When I arrived, I took a ticket and waited about 20 minutes to be helped. A different female associate (long hair, wearing glasses) assisted me. I explained everything and she checked the system, found my glasses just sitting there, and handed them to me. She asked if everything was good to go, and I quickly tried them on and said it was fine.The original associate who took my order was standing right next to her and did not acknowledge me or make eye contact. There was no real apology. The associate said she would share my situation with the manager, showing me the extra receipt in her hand to give to the manager, and reach out to me about what they could do. It has now been three days since my visit and I still have not been contacted. I am confused and disappointed. I have never experienced something like this, especially for glasses with no prescription. I do not usually write reviews like this here, but I do not want other customers to have the same experience I had. I recommend ordering for in-store pickup only because delivery orders can easily be forgotten. I had high hopes for JINS since I have heard good things, but this will probably be my first and last experience with them. I decided to check this store out during the memorial sale, went back a couple of days later to get a new pair of prescription glasses. Process was really easy, however, never recieved a message from them to say it was ready for pick up. Fast forward, I went back a few days later, because my eyes were taking 3-4 days to readjust. This worker checked and my axis in my prescription was flip flopped. Waited 30 min and was told I would received a message and I did not- once again... Beware your precription can be mixed up because they confused left and rights prescription. If they didn't have the lenses in stock, I would be blind for 2 weeks waiting for my lenses to come in. I ultimately decided to look for an eyewear store and this time I wanted to give JINS a try. JINS is a Japanese eyewear brand established in 2001 and caters to the Asian facial features. JINS often does collaboration with some of the world's most popular animated titles like Pokemon & Evangelion in 2021, Jujutsu Kaisen in 2023, and Naruto Shippuden in 2024 (coming soon). Sometimes I feel like wearing JINS glasses is a part of Asian American SGV (San Gabriel Valley) experience as all of my Asian American friends wore JINS at one point of their lives. [Location & Parking]: The shop is on the 2nd level of The Shops at Santa Anita and locates diagonally across from Din Tai Fung. Parking can be somewhat difficult during busy weekends, but try to park near Nordstrom (near Gate 8 & S Baldwin Ave) for the closest access to the shop. [Visit]: Initially I was slightly overwhelmed with so many frame options. I first spent 30 minutes by myself and picked one after some hard thinking. Later I waited in line at the kiosk and met Mike. Thank goodness I met Mike because he was able to offer his expert advices. He looked at my initial frame selection as well as my current high prescription glasses. Next he said with my high prescription glasses he recommended other options instead. Without his guidance, I would COMPLETELY overlook Mike's frame selection. I noticed his selection shared all of these characteristics for glasses with strong prescriptions: (1) Glasses with a smaller lens area. I tried one of Mike's curated frames and ultimately picked one of his frames ... and of course it happened to be one of the most expensive frames. [Price]: $290 for my frame - sales tax and lens included (no additional cost for high prescription) plus $15 per lens for blue light blocker. I was able to claim $100 back through VSP by submitting an out-of-network claim - see website for more details (https://us.jins.com/pages/insurance). [Arrival]: Mike said my glasses had to be ordered and will arrive in approximately 2 weeks. I got a call after 11th day and it was ready to pick up in-store. I have a pretty low fashion standard, but this JINS frame is the best one I have ever had and I still love it to this date. I have always gone to Jin's for the affordable glasses and fun collabs but the service I got today really blew me away. Kelsey was very patient with me helping me look for glasses while I was really fixated on getting a dupe for my old glasses. I was really indecisive and went back and forth with a lot of questions. She was very encouraging and easy to talk to about my preferences. Super considerate person and an excellent hype woman. After we finished deciding on something Edwin helped me get my order in and I had a great time going over all the specs I wanted for the lenses. The whole experience was easy and quick.
