My lovely, curmudgeon of a husband, has been coming to this location for over 12 years. As you all well know it was sold a few tears ago. To a young Dr. *gasp*. And at first, we were like "OMG IT SOLD TO A TOTAL UNCARING CORPORATION... NOOOO!) =) I assure you. The staff, Dr.s, Nurses, Repairmen, Technicians, and STAFF, (did I say that twice?) are the same if not a tad bit better but ... HOW DARE I? We absolutely LOVED the old place before the buyout. But I would not continue to come here if it had become another 'McEye Place'. My favortire technicion? ERNESTO! And my other, the beautiful blonde who repairs glasses, sorry I am only human and can only remember so many names. lol. But she's the gorgeous blonde who repairs and accepts warranties. The Dr. is a beautiful man with a gorgeous family. And I do know he does care about your eye health. Because he will try to sell you A LOT about eye health. :P SO. That being said. Do it. Come here. been using The Eyeglass Shop for a number of years and I have been very happy with service received. Until 2025 after paying for new glasses and sunglasses the prescription was not filled correctly. After doing another eye exam with The Eyeglass Shop, confirmed the prescription was correct but the store receded to remake the prescription eye pieces or refund money. WHAT HAPPEN TO CUSTOMER SERVICE ? Due to cost I paid for two pair of glasses that were not filled correctly, I will never return and I cannot recommend them. V Jones read more

My husband and I have been with Dr. Aaker for several years and had always gone to the other location which has since closed down. We've appreciated his thoroughness and the available choices of eyeglass frames at the office. Today was the first time visit at this location. It's much larger and more spacious. Looking forward to eye exams at this location. I was to pick up new prescription sunglasses. I LOVE THIS PLACE! Dr. Aaker doesn't play when comes to your EYES! I've been to 5 doctors looking for help and he has been the ONLY ONE to get me the help I needed. After 5 years of struggling to see and almost losing my vision lm finally going to be able to see due to Dr. Aaker. I've only been in his office 3 times and have help me more then any doctor have. Such a disappointment. I came in to get my stye looked at because at this point it's not even a stye anymore because I've had it for more than a year and I came here to get a professional opinion/ advice, at this point ANYTHING but the Dr. didn't even say more than 12 words. I got charged $90 dollars just for him to look at me and say "Yeah, we'll it's a stye give it a week and it will go away" uhhh NO that's why I came in, to get advice. He was more fixated on my tattoos then my eye. But ok. I give this place 2 stars and 5 stars to the lovely pregnant girl in the front. She was super sweet and friendly. read more

5 stars for solving a problem I've been dealing with for a LONG time. I've been suffering from dry eyes since I was teenager. I'd gone to multiple doctors, and every one of them told me to just keep using eye drops. It's progressively gotten worse. I sat down with Dr. Aaker, and he listened to what I had to say. I was a first-time patient, so I was so pleased to have had him pay attention to my discomfort. After an exam, he recommended punctal plugs ("tear preservers" he called them). They are small devices that are inserted into the tear ducts that slow the fluid from draining from the eye. He talked me through it, gathered the supplies, and inserted them within 10 minutes. After about 20 minutes, I felt like a completely different human. I always felt tired before, was always rubbing my eyes, constantly felt they were irritated. After, normal again! These that were inserted were temporary/dissolving plugs to see if they made a difference. THEY DID! read more

I reviewed the information provided on the internet on MANY optometrist clinics and I selected The Eyeglass Shop. The clinic's pictures showed a Dr. Aaker who appeared very down-to-earth, friendly and family oriented. Their ad also suggested that their staff was friendly. The staff was indeed very friendly, professional and customer service oriented. When I called to schedule an appointment, Ernesto helped me; when I came to the office, Kristen greeted me and gave me the paperwork to complete. Both were super nice and made me feel very welcome. Then after the eye exam, I was helped by Ms. Debra Vasquez-Ortiz, one of the opticians. She was absolutely superb !!! She was very patient, professional yet personable, customer service driven and very knowledgeable. She took time to explain to me how the size of the frame, and consequently the lenses would affect my vision, especially because I wear progressive, tri-focal glasses. She explained the different options available to me. She was there not to sell but to help me buy. That is the best sale technique. She is an advocate and a friend of her patients. I felt like she was family. Dr. Aaker was thorough with the exam and explained the condition of my eyes. I appreciated that. However, I was disappointed that he did not fit the image his clinic's ad depicted him. He was very matter-of-factly, not at all friendly and certainly did not make me feel welcome. He did his job to provide the exam and the information and that was all one can expect from him. There is a saying in the banking industry that all banks provide the same financial services, the only difference among the banks is customer service, how the staff in each bank make their customers feel when doing business with them. Came to get my eye exam, new place I've never been to, and to get a second opinion on results from the previous year where the optometrist detected signs of retinitis pigmentosa. I was asked if I wanted to include a picture/scan from a high tech machine they have that can detect any issues/disease better than a manual exam, this would be an additional $60. I definitely wanted to get this done so I can see if issues have gotten worse over the past year and get a second opinion whether there was anything or not. Once I met with Dr. Aaker he did a QUICK exam, I even commented that he was switching the swatches too quickly for me to even think what option was better/worse (to which he replied i didn't need to see the options for more than a second and he "was getting results he needed anyway"). I also have never had an exam where the door was left open and the lights completely on, I guess since they use a mirror system, who knows. He didn't even look at my eyes at all manually, I thought this was routine since every other exam I've ever had they took a look for any signs of disease etc. He spent more time trying to convince me into a $100 contact exam when I said no thanks, not on my agenda, multiple times. He asked if I had any questions after about a 5 min exam and I said no not right now. Thinking he would go over anything from the scan I paid $60 for and my questions about whether there was any signs of retinitis pigmentosa...NOTHING! When I mentioned the scan he basically said "oh, yea this, everything looks good, it's always good to have this on file anyway, that's it, here's your prescription, have a good day." Biggest waste of my $60 and time. Since nothing was explained to me from the scan, I still have questions on what it looks like, and I'm left thinking he too doesn't know. I could have gotten a more thorough exam and better bed side manner with any other practice. I recommend not paying for anything extra and don't come if you need help with more than just a prescription for new glasses/contacts. 2 stars, the front desk staff and the gentleman who assisted me with my initial evaluation were all lovely and made me feel very welcome. read more

Dr. Darrow and his staff are top notch! The office is very clean, comfortable and always running on time. Dr. Darrow is very kind and goes over and beyond to make sure you are satisfied with your glasses or contacts. I wasn't completely satisfied with the prescription in my glasses so Dr. Darrow worked with me until I was happy and replaced the lenses. Same goes with my contacts. Dr. Darrow wants the fit to be perfect so he is fine with me trying different fits until I am happy. My eyes have been seeing Dr. Darrow for about 11 years and I have never been unhappy. I never hesitate to recommend Dr. Darrow to others. Anyone complementing me on my glasses will get my elevator pitch on Dr. Darrow. He has never Dr. Darrow selects the best staff and he holds them up to high standards. There is little turnover and when I walk through the door they know me and my special eyes. I have been wearing glasses since 6th grade. My glasses are the first thing people are going to see when they see me so selecting the perfect frame is super important. I had a horrible incident at another eyeglass shop and they owed me a new pair of glasses. It was so hard to find one pair that I liked. I was there for hours and finally just had to settle. Then I was always running into people with the same glasses I had. My eyes didn't feel that special. At The Eyeglass Shop there are always so many pairs I want I feel like a kid in a candy shop. This optometrist and eyeglass office is excellent! From the first phone call to picking up your glasses it was exceptional customer service. I had a last minute request to get in before school started for my grandson. I did not have the insurance card because my daughter was out of town but that didn't stop them. I had called several other doctors and since it was last minute I could not get in but not here! They got us in quick and painless! They were excellent! Friendly, honest, personable, engaging, helpful, informative... I have to say selecting frames can be difficult and intimidating but not here! Zach and then Ernesto seemed genuinely excited to help them pick the perfect pair for each of them, but never to pressure them! He and another young lady did the same for me a few months back. Even my teenage grandsons were impressed. They enjoyed the staff as they asked questions to engage the guys. It was so good to see the way they handled the entire visit. I cannot say enough about Dr. Aaker and his phenomenal staff! I came back here because of the excellent customer service when I got my glasses a few months ago and I will continue to support this wonderful team of professionals! Great work!
