booked my appointment, and received a voice message asking me to call back to confirm otherwise they would cancel my appointment. I called back to confirm, and asked for another method of communication other than a phone call due to my profession and not being available for phone calls. They said they could reach out via text and i said that would be great. 10 minutes later i received a text message confirming my appointment, follo immediately by another message stating they canceled my appointment and sent a link to reschedule or find a new provider. Extremely disappointed with this overall experience, and after reading some of the other reviews realize i am not the only one. read more

Showed up to appointment and they had cancelled the appointment. Four days ago, I received a voicemail asking to confirm (I didn't not get to the message until after working hours). The message made no sound indication that the appointment would be cancelled if I did not confirm. I received a message two days ago (that I didn't not see) that my appointment was cancelled. Decent service but they wanted to charge me $800 for only a pair of lenses, not the frames. Yes, my insurance covered $300 of this amount but even so, $500 seems outrageous. I'm a senior citizen on a fixed income so I won't be going back. read more

If you are needing a kid friendly eye doctor, I would not waste your time coming here. Prior to scheduling my son's appointment, I made sure that they accepted kids under 10. The staff assured me they did as long as my child knows his ABCs, which he does, the doctor would be able to see him. Today we show up for my sons eye exam and the MA could not scan his left eye but was able to scan his right eye. At the time my son's eye was hurting and she did not give him the opportunity to take a short break to blink and try again. Without any explanation she walks out and says we can't help him and he needs to see someone else. At the time, I felt that she lost patience with my son. The lady at the front desk tells me that he will be referred to another eye doctor. It was a complete waste of time. Never have I had a problem like this before and I will not go back. read more

The only star I give is to Dr. Winfrey, for her patience. I had my eyes tested, paid over $500 for the glasses, and my vision got worse within two months. I went back to have them check what was wrong and they told me I had to pay a fee because it had been three months. Because of my insistence and when I explained the appointment had been given to me a month ago, the doctor agreed to see me and gave me back my initial prescription. I went back to pick up the glasses and they had to mount them on the frame. I received my frame damaged and the lens on the left side was out of the frame towards the bottom. They just say I have to order it again if I want an exchange, they didn't take my signature on the new prescription or anything. I don't know if this is true or if it was just to give an answer at that time. I would like someone responsible to follow up on my case, because here I am with my glasses damaged after such a high cost plus what my insurance paid. Update: 11/01/2014 I received an answer through my review on Google. I was supposed to send my details. I did so immediately, no one has contacted me and they still haven't told me that my prescription is ready, I still have doubts that they ordered my glasses after they damaged them themselves. My daughter and I have been going to EyeTx for a couple of years now and the customer service is always on point. My most recent visit exceeded out expectations. Our Optician, Jenna Garcia, was very professional, warm/welcoming, and made us feel at home. She even helped us pick the right frames for us. We are beyond impressed with the customer service from Jenna. We're looking forward to going back every year for our eye exams. Purchased eye glasses and was not given the correct case for the $700 glasses I purchased. Was told that they can't guarantee the cases after purchase. This is probably because the higher quality cases are given to friends and family and thus, actual customers who purchase are given soft cases from another brand. Highly disappointed. read more

I normally wouldn't describe any visits to a doctor as pleasant, but the experience I had at Eyetx was painless and quick. I scheduled my appointment without issue over the phone, and they were able to accommodate my schedule. Arrived, filled out my paperwork, and was seen almost immediately. There was no up-selling, and I was left in peace to peruse their display for a new pair of glasses while waiting for my eyes to dilate. Dr Jiang was very thorough in examining my eyes, and she put to rest my concerns. I felt comfortable throughout my appointment since every step was communicated. Everytime I have scheduled an appointment I have not had to wait long to get my appointment started. Staff is always friendly, honest and helpful. The doctors are very knowledgeable and I feel like they do a great job in examining my eyes. They actually found some swelling in my eyes and helped me through that. Prices seem about average, they have always taken whatever insurance companies my job has been through and the selection of frames that they have is large. My eye insurance was ending due to unfortunate circumstances and needed an eye exam last minute. I called and they were able to see me right away without an appointment. I'm not sure if they always accommodate walk ins so call ahead. The front desk lady wasn't too joyful but the girl who took my blood pressure and eye tests was just amazing and had excellent customer service. Dr Anderson was very informative and very caring. He answered all my questions and explained everything perfectly. I felt very comfortable there. read more

Excellent in all respects. My family has been cared for by Dr Carl Elder since we moved to San Antonio 11 years ago. He always asks how the family is doing and has really taken the time to get to know each of us. As a fellow health professional I appreciate the smooth operation from check in to check out. I had a comprehensive eye exam and from start of check in to checkout the whole process took 45 minutes even with a busy schedule and not once did I feel rushed. Dr Elder did not push getting my eyes dilated since I had it done last visit which was much appreciated. My family and I have gotten glasses and contacts from them in the past and they will often be able to meet or beat prices from the places like Costco or mail order contact lens companies with great local service. read more

After some horrible experiences with other doctors since moving to San Antonio, it was such a nice surprise to have a GOOD experience somewhere! I was able to make my appointment for a time that was convenient, and the location is nearby so that was helpful as well. I only waited in the waiting area for maybe 5 minutes, tops, and that was including the time spent on my new patient paperwork. The eye assistant was nice and friendly, and the doctor was professional and polite as well. He offered multiple options for ordering contacts (through them, or offered to give me my Rx without me having to ask awkwardly) and there was no pressure to buy anything extra from them. Overall, great customer service, professional staff and doctors, and you'll be in and out in no time. read more

came here for my first vsp for glasses. the guy took all my info ...after waiting a lil bit a lady who i thought was the doc says would I' like to make an appointment for morning or evening or afternoon and I'm like we can't do this now and she said oh no the eye doctor is not here doctors already gone.I know I don't wanna make an appointment because some days I can get out and some days I can't so I just said thank you nobody even said was sorry or thank you or whatever they just act like I wasn't even there so they will not be getting my business and I have put this out here on yelp do not come to this place if you are not in a certain category because they will not treat you nicely.When I said I needed an eye appointment why didn't they tell me right then and there before he took all my information and kept looking at my ID like 3times why did they say it wouldn't be today because the doctor was already gone then I could've just out could left then UPDATE! so business owner did teach out to me .. I had a routine eye exam done today; the office staff expedited the paperwork and were very professional and courteous. Dr. Ann is very thorough in her eye examinations and prescribes only what is needed. Unlike many other vision centers I've been to in the past 8 years, this has been by far my best experience ever- they are not pushy with their products either and allow th patient to feel welcome and seek first to understand their needs. I recommend this place for routine eye exams; I will have my retinal dilation appointment scheduled for a later date. I'm truly satisfied with my visit today. read more

I went to EyeTX after a horrible experience with the first provider my insurance company recommended. Both are in-network providers but EyeTX was so wonderful. The office is easily located by EZ's off De Zavala, the office is beautiful and has an amazing selection of frames, staff is professional, friendly, and knowledgable. They were able to assist me with no issues at all. I HIGHLY recommend if you have Medicaid Community First Star and are looking for an Optometrist, EyeTX will take care of you from start to finish! Abosutely the worst customer service experience. I had an appt at 9:00 am. When I arrived I went to the counter where Robbie asked if he could assist me. I explained that the prescription was not correct and needed a new prescription. He said "ok so your not adjusting to the glasses.". I corrected him and said that it is not a matter of adjusting, they are blurry. To Which he said "then you're having trouble adjusting to the glasses". I just said ok whatever I have a 9:00 appt. they then tell me the Dr is not there and I need to reschedule. I told him that a call would have been nice. He Said they did call and leave a msg to which I just said oh ok Well I never got it and he said they can fit me in. Fine. I asked to verify that they have the correct number which is when Sandy interjected and said that she was the one that called. I informed her that I never got a call or msg. She insisted that left two voicemails for me. All I said was that I never got them. All this time I never raised my voice or said anything mean. Her response was "well it doesn't matter". Of course she was not the one who drove 30 min to get there. I even offered for her to look at my missed calls and voicemails on my phone to verify that I did not get the msg. So I'm finally in the office with a different dr and I can hear her telling the dr that she left me a msg and that I was upset. Remind you I was upset because all they did was argue with me since I walked in BUT I never raised my voice or got vulgar. I just calmly explained my situation. The dr walked in and said "you are upset and we do not want you here, go up front and get your money back for the glasses and don't come back". I have close to 20 years on customer service and would NEVER treat a customer as poorly as the staff at this place of business did. read more
