After looking around at other locations, I can completely say that they had the best prices. The employees were very helpful and the store was well stocked. My friend and I were walking around ktown looking for skincare and dropped by here. Their collection was well organized and really well maintained. Although, some of the sales didn't really feel like sales compared to another shop close by with similar offerings. But they do ship, so that's a bonus. Cool little shop, with some highly unique items. If you have kids that are into stuffed animals and characters from overseas, this is a nice change from "Hello Kitty". The downsides are, the aisles are quite narrow (only 2 sides really) and if there are other people in the store, it makes it a little difficult to "casually browse". Normally all the face shop I have been too they have greeted. Especially in flushing area they always greet their customer whether it was small face shop or big. Recently I stopped by the face shop which their employees has not greeted me nor other customer that came into their store. With greeting customer I thought it's a big plus for every korean stores. I usually go to face shop to get face mask because that's the only thing I need from that store. They aren't many options of face mask you could choose from like other places in flushing. Besides mask they have nail polish, face cleanser, hand cream, make up, lipsticks and etc. There was some event going on as buy 10 get 10 free Or with the animation mask buy 10 get 5 free. I have used face mask for years now so I do know which are good with best friends. Buy 10 get 10 free I wouldn't recommend. Any mask name Mediheal, Jayjun, leaders solution, Repiel will give you the results right away and I highly recommended. These masks you should use every 2 or 3 times in a week to get best results. The 1 dollar mask or cheap ones you used them Everyday. I used it before and it hadn't gave me any result on those masks. read more

The ladies at the register are super nice and eager to assist anyone with questions or seeking the right product for their needs. The hardest part is that when you ask for something, they'll say that what you were first looking at is a good buy, and they'll also redirect you to something else, and anything else you ask about, they'll also recommend as being good for your needs. It can get confusing, and I think that's the point so you buy a bunch of stuff you may not need or use. They do have high quality products so that is a plus. Sometimes, you'll read something about a product and it seems like it wouldn't work to your advantage, but the ladies will give it high praise and say that they use it and it helps w/ the same issues..... I would not buy into that, literally. You can use the testers if you're okay with "sharing." No idea how clean each item is post the first test. If you're not into that, they might give you a free sample so you can try it out at home and if you like the scent, consistency, feel, etc. you can return to the shop and purchase it (and probably other items) at a later date. Sometimes they have good deals on the face masks, like two for the price of one (~$2.00). Remember, bring a list of what you need with you and keep your budget in mind. Some things are relatively inexpensive, whilst others are just wow. It can be a smidge overwhelming because there's a lot on display and they all target the same areas. Happy shops! read more

I came in here about 30 minutes before closing. Despite this, the employees were kind and greeted me upon entering the store and respectfully notified me that their store would be closing soon. I unfortunately did not get a good look around the store because of this, but I tried to check out what I could in the little time I had. I saw that they carried a nice variety of skincare and makeup in the store: some items were on the pricey end but they also had more affordable options available. The store was also very clean and well-kept. On my way out of the store, I spotted Nayeon's (a member of the popular kpop band, TWICE) adorable bunny hat for only $19. Many kpop stars have been wearing this hat, from IZ*ONE to Stray Kidz: I was estatic to see that this hat was being sold in Koreatown. I have received so many compliments on the hat too! Best Face Shop in NYC. So many cosmetics and sometimes some deals spring up. They have an awards program worth investing in if you love all things Face Shop. Surrounding this shop are other Korean brands but I always end up here as I find Face Shop quality one of the best and they always come in cute packaging. The sales people are friendly and don't hunt you down wherever you walk so you won't feel intimidated. After you pay, you will usually receive a bunch of samples. Love this location! read more

I've been pretty disenchanted with the shitshow that is a Manhattan Sephora and seeking another place to buy skincare and cosmetics. Even though I'm hardly disciplined enough to follow alllll the the steps, I'm a big fan of K-beauty and this place has a lot of great products at alright prices. The customer service is friendly enough and helpful as are their membership rewards. I think it's a dollar off for every $10 you purchase? And they give you a couple of free samples as well. I got an eyeshadow! The sheet masks are cheap and really work. Also got a liquid blush that gives me this dewy, lit-from-within look and nice powder contour that's easy to use and not overwhelming. Conveniently located right by the train and better than the other stores in town. The customer service here is always good. They always ask for your phone number, so you can apply your rewards which is nice. They are generous with their samples! Make sure to sign up for their rewards system. You get points that eventually turn into $2-3 discounts - which is always welcome. Their beauty tools are moderately priced. Charcoal face sponge is about $6. Blotting sheets are about $5. Make-up brushes are not bad and inexpensive as well. I really like their Chia toner and face wash. I'd recommend getting the $12 pack of pimple stickers because it's like a sample pack that includes both the heavy duty and daytime stickers & it definitely comes with more stuff. Pros: -Conveniently located on the Ktown strip in NYC -The associate who helped me knew how to speak good English, so my experience is contrary to what the other reviews are saying. She gave me great advice on choosing the right kind of cushion compact makeup for my skin type. I have oily skin, so she recommended I get the water based one, which also works well at combating sweat in the summer. After comparing it with another compact cushion brand (Laneige) I've concluded that the compact cushion here is pretty good quality, has great buildable coverage, and does not feel oily at all -There are samples of almost everything in the store so you can see what the product is like before making a purchase, just like at Sephora -They often have sales going on which is always a plus! -They always give out free samples of other products that they sell, which is neat because it allows you to try on certain products at home and have better judgment of whether you like it or not -Sign up for their loyalty card! It is worth it and you will receive some sort of discount even if you only shop here twice a year Cons: -I really wish they carried a wider variety of makeup shades, but this is true for most Korean brands. I'm Asian and I like to believe I have fairly light skin, but the two shades that they carry here are still too light for me and my face looked really washed out when I wore it. I guess I'm going to have to mix my cushion compact makeup with another brand that's darker in order to get my true shade and not waste it! read more

This is a review for the new location of The Face Shop. The new location is a definite improvement over the old location. It felt a lot lighter and airier. The space didn't feel as cramped. My favourite products from The Face Shop are the hand and body chiffon creams. They smell amazing and the jars are just the perfect size to throw into your handbag. The staff is fairly generous with samples at this location. I only wish that the store priced things differently. I have spotted equivalents of certain products at Nature Republic and they're noticeably cheaper there. Although, their sheet masks are a fairly good bargain. read more

They offer so many different products. I loved their sale on sheet masks( buy 10 get 5). They have all kinds but I stuck with the ones that were $2. When I got back to Portland, I used the lemon one and it really does work!!! My face was brighter instantly and even in the morning it still looked pretty good. A very cute place to shop facial moisturizers and toners and all that. They also have a variety of makeup that i've never heard of before but would def try. However the workers did not greet me when I entered the place nor did they ask me if I needed help or if i'm looking for something particular. I don't get what all the hype is about these korean beauty stores because their products are not particularly outstanding and they are not cheap. I did not find the staff to be particularly helpful when I asked for clarification explanations between similar products. I felt like they really didn't know their products and had probably never tried them. Please note that the Face Shop does not stand behind their products and has a very limited return policy with no refunds -- they allow just 7 days to exchange an unused product. So if you have an allergic reaction to their product after 8 days or are otherwise dissatisfied, too bad for you because they aren't taking it back -- they will not be refunding your money or exchanging it for something else. I think it is a much better idea to buy your products at a major department store or Sephora where you can return what doesnt work for you and customer satisfaction is important. read more

The Face Shop is probably my most favorite of all K-beauty stores. This is also my favorite location. They used to be at a smaller location down the block but now they moved to this much bigger and spacious location. The staff are nice, genuine, and knowledgeable. Their products are always beautifully displayed and testers are always available. I usually like checking out to see if they have new sheet mask products because those are always fun and easy to put on. Loved this place and I can't wait to visit again. The service here was really good, the store was clean, and the K-Pop music in the background added to the experience of purchasing my first Korean beauty products. What the heck is happening over at The Face Shop? I really loved this brand but for the past year I've been having trouble finding things I use regularly. I get that each location is independently run, but both the location in Ktown NYC and the one at Madang Plaza in LA barely have inkgel eyeliners in stock for probably the past year now. I've bought another line of eyeliner at the LA location during a BOGO sale, but it's quite obvious they're just trying to sell off old stock - they didn't have a lot to choose from and one of the two I bought was expired and completely dried out. It seems like FS is just not shipping in any new eyeliners in general. The NYC location has also converted half of their space to sell cutesy plushies and phone cases now, unrelated to the brand. Perhaps other locations in Manhattan and the outer boroughs for NY and alternate locations outside of LA are better stocked and managed? Otherwise it makes me wonder if this company in financial trouble or something. read more

Went to Korea town to buy some face masks from this establishment. The service was good and i liked the buy 10 get 5 free deal and also the buy one aloe jell and get one free. They have a wide arrange of different brands you can get and plenty of things for all kinds of skin problems. I ended up spending about 75 dollars and the girls at the counter gave me a 5 dollar discount and also a 5 dollar gift card. Like that is honestly the nicest service i've ever gotten at a korean shop. Most korean shops back in Texas ignore you if you're not korean but they were so nice to me. I got back to my hotel and tried the aloe mask i bought and my face feels a lot less dry now. This face shop is a must if you're in Korea Town. read more

Had great experiences here before. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the products are great. HOWEVER, the manager there was extremely rude to customers, gave attitude and spoke about them infront of their face in Korean so that they wouldn't understand. She also didn't follow policy when it came to returns and blamed the customer instead for something that was not their fault. Will not be coming back again because of her. read more

Every NYC trip I make, I always come here to stock up on my sheet masks. The staff is really friendly and helpful and they answer any questions you have. On my previous trip that I made, they actually gave me two samples of a primer, one for me, one for my sister. Oh also if you aren't aware, they also have a point system card (which is actually just a sticker but I just put it on the back of a "business card" that I always carry), and you get points that you could use for discounts. Just ask the cashier about it and they could sign you up. All I really had to give was my name and phone number. read more

This place is amazing. The salespeople aren't too clingy, they don't follow you around or bother you like in some other places. If you need help finding a product, they'll be happy to help you. I stopped in Koreatown for some food but then realized that just about every store had sheet masks (one of my favorite things on this planet). I went to the Face Shop among other places but the selection and ambiance were what kept me in this store, and I decided to buy at least something. When I checked out (I bought one $4 sheet mask) they gave me like 8 samples, a few on the larger side. When I went home I used them, and my skin looked ridiculously good after one use! I HAD to go back the next day and try what I used, I didn't care the cost, I just needed those full sizes in my life. The customer service is friendly and helpful without being too much, I like to shop alone but love suggestions. I don't often go back based on a sample.
