When someone DM'd me a picture of the roasted chicken flavored Doritos that Teso carries, I dropped everything I was doing and made the brisk 0.7 mile walk. What an incredible innovation. The Japanese just get it. I'll never forget my first trip to Japan back in 2018 when I was a young 22 year old frat boy. The level of respect that is deeply ingrained in the culture changed me, and is something I have carried with me throughout the rest of my life. It took me from shotgunning natty lights to judging people who douse their sushi in soy sauce. Traveling and seeing the world is great for the soul... My b, nothing gets me rambling like my love for Japan, let me lock in. I walked into Teso, passing by mostly Japanese customers, straight to the chips section. Their flavor selection was completely overwhelming. Options ranged from steak, scallop, fried crab, fried chicken, Italian red meat, Mexican chicken tomato, to the holy grail that is roasted chicken flavored Doritos. How could you not respect this innovation? If you can think of it, the Japanese will make a chip flavor out of it. I grabbed the tissi flavored Doritos and walked to a local park to sit and try them. I opened the bag, stuck my nose in it, and took a big inhale to try and bless my nostrils with the scent of my beloved bird. Much to my chagrin, it just smelled like Doritos. I took the first bite, and waited for a blast of rotisserie chicken flavor that has become my life blood. But it never came. It tasted like bbq flavor with a hint of instant ramen chicken seasoning. A spacious Japanese snack and beauty supply shop. Prices are average for the types of products.

The gokujyun premium serum is so slimy but good because you don't have to use a lot of skin before moisturizer therefore it will last long. Worth the price. Royal milk tea isn't my fav. Light in taste since it is a tea but not sweet sweet. The other drink is sweet and has fruit jelly inside to chew on periodically as you drink beverage. The açaí hi chew has to be one of my favorite flavors. I don't like seaweed but these umami chips are good and light in flavor or seaweed taste and crunchy.i say try it even if you hate seaweed. read more

This Teso Life has a great selection of Japanese products, ranging from beauty and skincare to collectible toys, snacks, and household items. The store itself is much larger than you'd expect and the staff working there have always been super helpful and friendly. If you ever need to stock up on your favorite Japanese goodies, I would highly recommend shopping here as everything is very reasonably priced and there's a lot of very fun and unique items that you can try out. This is a nice clean space located in the lower level of the building. It is actually pretty big and offers a wide selection that runs the gamut from skin care, office supplies, housewares to food items. Not just your average convenience store, I like that they carry such a large variety of Asian products from beauty and home goods, to small toys, food and condiments, snacks and beverages. Terrific selection of uniquely flavored potato chips, albeit pricey I appreciate the selection. I like to pop in ever once in a while to try a new beverage or snack, and browse their beauty products. A little Japanese shop filed with cosmetics, toys, and snacks. Great place to grab Japanese snacks that aren't too expensive, and cosmetics and more. Lots of imported goods you have a hard time finding in the US. They also have a small aisle of housewares, where I found some dishes I thought I'd never find a match for again! Good to know. Return policy is pretty tight so avoid buying something you aren't fully willing to keep. They do take credit card, but no bags there so bring your own. Very helpful with packing up the bowls I bought safely in paper. read more

This place is new and conveniently located by a bunch of restaurants that I frequent in east village so I decided to stop in! Stunning store with blinding white lights and a wide selection of Asian makeup, snacks, kitchen ware and other beauty and healthcare products. Everything is be try organized and the makeup selection has trials that allow you to test the makeup. I love that because I've always wanted to try Asian beauty products but they're either 1) super expensive or 2) non refundable once you open it. The beauty products here are actually cheaper than what they would sell for on Amazon and another smaller Asian beauty store down the street. Snack selection was CHEFS KISS. Lots of snacks that I haven't seen even at HMART and some that I haven't seen since I lived in Japan years ago. Overall, impressive selection and wide array of items with testers. I always have trouble either waiting or not being able to try things out in store so it's a great option. Very organized and clean. I also love some of the more niche brands along with stuff like mouthwashes , mints , eye drops , and sponges ; things you might have gotten before or tried at a friends but didn't know where to get . They also have great candies and snacks if you're looking to buy some for friends or a group or maybe you had a type before and wanted to buy but couldn't find them in hmart or another market. Since the neighborhood regular Sunrise mart at the corner of 3rd ave shuttered, we stroll to this shop to check out their Japanese goods. A pretty cute shop with lots of beauty items bustling every isle, a bit narrow to maneuver as other customers are perusing. Although not a grocery store, you will find a good selection of snacks, sweets, and some staples. It came in handy as we were shopping for our usual sesame seeds. I love this place. Not only the nostalgic vibe of seeing your childhood anime characters on sodas but the food and snacks have that natural taste we all miss. Store is always clean and well stocked. Believe it or not, the snacks and drinks are healthy. I haven't really gone there to buy any of the other items they sell besides snacks but I Iove going here for the coffee and teas has they have a very natural taste. My friend let me know about Teso Life when I was complaining to him how I used my Japanese sunscreen but it's hard to find one here for an ok price. I read the reviews before coming here, but I was still surprised by how well stocked the place was. It was actually like visiting a drug store in Japan. I recommend checking out Teso Life when you are looking for particular drug store items from Japan. I believe many goods are sold at a lower price than at other Asian stores like H-Mart and Sunrise Mart. Good snack selections is another big plus. I'm not into the neighborhood that much so I might as well go to the K-Town or Flushing locations next time. read more

I was super excited to see a new TESO Life opened up! The store might seem small from the outside but it is actually MASSIVE. I think I spent close to half an hour inside browsing and I still wasn't finished looking at everything. They sell everything from skincare, makeup, household products for bathroom, kitchen, room fragrances, diffusers, to snacks like chips, cookies, chocolates, ice creams, frozen foods, etc. It's a perfect place to go for practically anything you need. It's also a good place for gifts. The prices are decent, average, and exactly what you'd expect from a TESO. I went to HMart and Sunrise mart right after this, and TESO definitely takes the cake for the cheapest snacks, and largest variety! They have a bunch of snacks on sale (but be careful because some are nearing the expiration date!) Staff are friendly as well, a nice lady helped guide me to what I needed. All I can say is WOW! I was looking around for stores where Japanese makeup is sold. After finding this store and it being close by I decided to take a road trip to St. Mark's Place. When I walked into the store some of the makeup was by the entrance. I took my time and browsed through the entire store as they sold everything from snacks to beauty supplies. I'm new to Asian cosmetics and this store was a great find. Of course I walked away with some snacks to try as well. I'll be back that's for sure! read more
