Bad experience, poor customer service, poor lawn care. I recently had my lawn aerated. I had blocked off one section of lawn as it was newly seeded. They removed my barricade, aerated and damaged my new lawn. They offered overseeding as a reparation and all they did was have someone come and toss handfuls of seed on the damaged area. I spoke with Mike to let him know and his responses were excuses saying that his employees told him they overseeded. Wont be using them again. Cost me more to repair what they damaged. read more

I have used them for several years and couldn't be happier. They use push mowers instead of the quick stand on ones and it makes a huge difference. We recently got a trampoline and they have mowed around it and under it beautifully. We have used 4 different lawn companies at this home and eventhough they cost a little more than the quickie guys all the neighbors use, it's worth every penny! read more

I have used Family Lawn for years and give them 5 stars! Today they came to do spring fertilizer on my lawn. I watched the employee do the job plus he picked up some trash in my yard and blew all the winter debris off my porch, patio and sidewalk. They always go the extra mile and the staff is so friendly. I scheduled with Family Lawn to have my lawns aerated. I put out my flags to indicate my sprinklers. I called them the day before to ask for a time window as to when they'd be by. Their message said that they would return my call within two hours. They did not. I called again, heard the same message and waited, but again did not receive a return phone call. I called a third time and finally, Jenna from their office called me back stating that because of the rains, my lawn would need to be delayed and rescheduled, which I said was fine. Again, the day before my rescheduled lawn aeration, I put out my flags and I called Family Lawn to find out when they would be out. This time Jenna told me that they would be out the next day between 4-6pm. Unfortunately, they never showed up. I never got a call either - nothing, unbelievable and extremely unprofessional. read more

We have used a lot of different lawn companies and feel we finally found a good one! Everyone usually uses the stand up mowers and goes so fast and they would miss areas. These guys use smaller push mowers and have much better attention to detail. I also love that everyone speaks English. The language barrier has been a problem with many of our previous mowers. My only issue is not communicating when they miss a day. read more

We don't use them but our neighbors do....they have thrown our sprinkler and hose in the street (breaking it), killing the grass seed we just laid, and political signs-i guess they were too lazy to move my neighbors trash cans and go through her yard. We called to complain and the woman seemed to blame me for it. She stated someone would call but they never did. Don't use this company 5/13/19 update we talked to the owner and he ensured us that they would respect our lawn. This morning I look out and once again they were on our lawn without care. Went out to talk to them and they could care less and said there was no other way to get to my neighbors lawn. I pointed out the trash cans are on wheels and move and the guy walked away. Abysmal customer service. Not only did they butcher our yard when we attempted to try to get resolution we were told that we should find someone else because we were too high maintenance. Too high maintenance because we wanted our lawn cut appropriately without grass clippings left all over that we then had to spend time to pick up ourselves? We were told well they didn't have time to pick up the clippings because they had 20 other yards to do that day -- and how is that our problem? Not to mention that we were charged almost double what we were quoted - without any notice. I would never recommend doing business with this merchant and will be calling my bank to stop payment as they failed to perform satisfactory services at the quoted price. read more

James (The Supervisor) came out to my home to inspect the shady (at best) lawn service I had gotten TWO days earlier. I attempted to have an adult conversation with this RUDE MANAGER and he was 100% rude and argumentive. He then told me your yard is "garbage" and he doesn't believe in the philosophy that the customer is right. This despite the obvious mohawked lawn cut, obvious weeds on the fence line. I then told him I would honor my agreement for two more bi-weekly services and he then told me and I quote "Well I'm not interested In honoring anything and we will not be back". Absolutely argumentative and a pompous NEGATIVE manager. Unable to listen let alone manage. Lied about an arrival window, poor workmanship, and poor manager. WARNING; DO NOT USE THIS HORRIBLE SERVICE !!!!! ZERO STARS. TO BAD WE DONT HAVE THE OPTION IF NEGATIVE STARS. read more

My experience has been very different from the other reviewers'. I have had nothing but excellent customer service from this company. In addition, they do the best job of mowing when compared to other people we've hired. Most companies use large mowers that damage the lawn; The Family Lawn uses small mowers, much gentler on your grass. Plus they mow in different directions each time so the grass always looks great. read more

I was unhappy with the aeration I received and when I called to set up the first appointment I was told by Jena, the office admin, that their crew would be at my house by mid morning. and they showed up mid-afternoon., which ruined my families Saturday afternoon plans. When I tried to schedule the redo of the aeration after I contacted them regarding the poor job initially done, all they would give me was a 12 hour window and I decided to declined the redo because I had plans and was not willing to change them for a 12 hour window of service as I wanted to be home to make sure that they would do a good job since they missed big sections of the yard the first time. I wrote an email to the office admin to cancel the appointment and readdressed my dissatisfaction with the service of which I then received the email below from the manager who we later found out by Jena was a part of the owners family. Make your own choice to use this company, but if you complain of the service you may be threatened to be sued. Hey Travis, We were willing to redo the work. You don't want it, that's fine. You were never promised an appointment time. We don't do that. So you're a liar. If you tell any of your lies about our company, I will promptly sue you for defamation. Incredibly poor customer service, communication, unexpected charges, and when I tried to address the owner about an issue that I had, with the service, his response was "I don't need customers like you" The company came out to cut our lawn a few times, and we were on bi-weekly mowing which already costs more than a weekly mowing service due to the over growth. I can understand that overgrowth happens when a lawn is on bi-weekly service, and an additional charge for biweekly service is understandable- what isn't ok is that this company started charging us an additional $25 overgrowth fee per mowing- something that is unacceptable when we are already being charged additional fees for being on a 2 week service. But that isn't what upsets me about The Family Lawn. What is disappointing is that when I called them to address the issue, they insisted on the charge, and furthermore, without letting me get a word in the owner proceeded to tell me that they don't need me as a customer and then continued to hang up on me. I don't understand why any business owner in his right mind would be so rude to a good customer. Not only is it disrespectful, it fulfills the other reviews that are trending on Yelp. On top of this issue, we had a yard cleanup scheduled for several weeks with nobody showing up, a rude experience with the receptionist, and we had a bed and border service that we were charged for that didn't do a darn thing. Our flowerbeds still look terrible, and I've been fully charged for that service too. What an idiot I was for not checking these reviews before hiring them! I hired them based on a referral, which was a mistake. They very carelessly damaged the bases of three of our young trees, including one quite severely. I called and was told that "It's sometimes hard to keep the machines away from the trees" (believe it or not) but was also asked to send some pictures. I did send pictures and should have received an immediate response but did not. Based on the other reviews here, I don't see the point in calling back and getting hung up on or yelled at, but I would absolutely stay away from this company and I have obviously cancelled our service. read more

I used the family lawn during the winter for snow removal, in order to help my wife as I am out of town on occasion. We have a 3car garage (and driveway), however even if the extra spot in the driveway has a parked car and is not shoveled, they charge the extra rate. They will also charge extra when the snowfall is greater than 6''. Another tactic that they will use is that they will come out on consecutive days for the same storm, charging for each shoveling, instead of waiting for the snow to stop falling entirely. ($82 for two shovelings over one weekend last March). The last time I used them I had shoveled the majority of the snow on the first day, they returned on the second to clear the couple of inches that fell overnight, but charged me the extra (6'') charge as if I hadn't initially cleared it at all. Too much greed shows through with these guys, and when I complained I got a nasty gram from the boss emphasizing my 'banned for life' status. If you can do it, a shovel will give you much less grief. read more

On top of that, they showed up and cut a few passes in my lawn before telling me it was too tall and they were canceling the account. The owner was extremely disrespectful. Do not hire this service.
