It has been years since Choc-Ola consumption. Good stuff!!

Long review. Many photos. Hopefully you'll appreciate my review. The Famous Tomato is definitely a cool place. It was totally on a whim while driving by that we stopped to grab some tomatoes for my father-in-law. Upon arrival, they had many racks of in-season produce neatly setting outside and under a nicely shaded awning. I took a peak inside with the idea I might use their restroom...if they even had one. As soon as you open the front door, The Famous Tomato whole different world inside of totally unexpected walls of candy apples, zillions of zany bottled beverages, off the wall seasonings and other fun stuff. After roaming around for about 10 minutes, I started inspecting a pretty fresh looking salad bar. As I was walking around the bar, a lady (worker) came up and asked if I needed help. I told her I was thinking about dishing up a salad. Ends up the ladies come out and pull items from the salad bar and make your salad for you. I've never had this type of experience but it works. They were super friendly and helpful to make a delicious salad (pay by the ounce) as well as serve some really, really hearty soups. It ends up we were the first ones the salad bar. As rookies, we were kinda slow twitch on everything but the ladies were fun to help. By the time we got our food and sat down, there was a pretty decent line of people from all walks of life--Military people, workers from nearby industries, etc were lined up ready to feast on soup and/or salad. Remember at the beginning of this review that we stopped to get tomatoes and gently walked inside to see if they had a restroom? I think we forgot tomatoes and waited till after we ate to use restroom. We got sidetracked on the whole experience of the inside. Do it!!! Photos still don't do it justice. But I tried.

It's that time of year again - chili time. One of favorite places to get chili is from The Famous Tomato in Speedway, IN. Beef and chicken are both equally delish. In fact so much so that it was gone before I could get a photo. I'm not typically a salad bar or buffet person unless I get there as soon as it opens. I LOVE the salad bar here because the employees actual make it for you! If you are looking for unique or old school sodas, this is your place! Tons of varieties of hot sauces, candy and fresh produce!

I'm from Detroit so I had to buy a Vernors !!!! All the other sodas were new to me.

If you're nostalgic and enjoy trying unique craft sodas then this is the place for you. My son and I LOVE glass bottled drinks... that's our thing (don't judge us, the flavor and quality for us hits different than plastic ‍). #IYKYK Anywho, my business coach suggested we check out this staple that's been in Indianapolis for a long time. My son was in beverage heaven. They have drinks that take you back to your childhood and new items that we'd never seen before. We were in heaven! This spot also has a fresh produce, condiments, candy, soup and salad bar, etc but we were only there for crafted sodas. The staff helped us out a lot and there was one bottle my son was looking for and they went in their stockroom and found it! Overall, we had a blast finding and trying new sodas. If you buy a six pack you get a deal, if you buy them individually they are around $2.50 + depending on your soda. Check it out, I know we will be back.

I stopped in because they offer a salad bar. Like in a market you pay by the pound. I also had their poblano soup in the medium size. All of the salad bar was fresh and it was very clean. This is because they have an employee make your salad while you point to the items and quantity needed. Nothing in the salad dresssings or soups are made here . It all packaged product. Soup was fair at best

Cute farm stand store on the west side of Indy in Speedway. Fresh fruits and vegetables year round. You have to try the beefsteak tomato's! They also have a fresh salad and soup bar! Also hot sauces, salsas and nostalgic candies! A great place to visit and explore! Try the fresh salad and bar for a quick healthy lunch or lite dinner. Also get some candy for dessert. A must stop year round in Speedway!

    Sweet basil. Fresh taste!

We saw their sign has the Famous Chili is back in stock so we decided to try it. This place was so cute with a Vintage decor, stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables and tons of sauces from Salsa to Cherry pie filling. The salad bar looked great and the selections of soup looked great as well. I got the Chili and Broccoli Cheddar and both were delicious and I'm pretty picky about my soup! Chefs kiss! ‍ it's counter service and someone will dip your soup for you. Serve yourself salad bar.

Neat little market type place with different and unique foods. I went here to try something out of my comfort zone but just couldn't pull the trigger on the ranch soda.

What a wonderful place! I absolutely LOVE a salad bar, and this one was great! The cutest little roadside market with so many fun novelties. A huge variety of produce, sauces, salsas, candy, soda, you could spend forever there. The staff are helpful and friendly, I just enjoyed visiting this place so much!

Honestly, what a charming sweets shop! There was fresh fruit that looked delicious too! And then awesome candy and creme sodas! And root-beer slushy, what a fun place! The inside just cute with places to sit and eat lunch! There's a salad bar with soup! I loved there was an attendant who would help fix your salad so, there were not many hands on the salad bar! I for one appreciate that!! Soup was yummy!!!

Great produce, vintage candy & sodas, hot sauces & more. Ample old school salad bar. A wall of hot sauces, James, jellies, pie fillings- all the good jarred stuff! Terrific selection of Indiana grown produce. Wish I lived closer!

This 200-acre establishment offers around 50 acres of apples, 30 acres of vegetables, 20-25 acres of pumpkins, and a greenhouse among other options. There's a small cafe here. There's U-Pick apples, of course, along with U-Pick pumpkins. There's flowers galore, a variety of food items, exhibits classes, tours, and more. They take credit cards (no WIC or SNAP). There's no general admission to get into Tuttle. There's also no parking fee. There are fees for certain activities, and there are obviously fees for items that are sold. There are over 2,000 items in their farm store. I'm a definite fan of the donuts. Yeah, I know. What kind of weirdo goes to an orchard and gets a donut? Me. I'm that weirdo. More than 90% of their plants sold are grown right at the orchard. Tuttle has been around since the early apple trees were planted in 1928. It's now fourth generation Tuttle, though the owners are actually named Roney at this point (but still in the family). Accessibility? Better than expected and obviously intentional. Perfect? Nope. It's an orchard. No orchard will be perfectly accessible, but it's quite good and employees are helpful as much as able. Parking lot offers parking options. They've worked with disabled students, and the hayride is wheelchair accessible. The pumpkin patch is a dirt path, however, for the most part I found it workable. Some may need assistance. The only accessibility issue in most places would be the crowds, as Tuttle can get quite packed - especially on weekends. Tuttles does ask for advance notice for those with disabilities if possible, especially for groups, so guides can adapt material as needed for age/developmental level. Overall, I really enjoyed this visit. It wasn't my first time to Tuttle, though I'd never remembered it well enough to be comfortable reviewing it. After a recent visit, I remembered why I always enjoyed it so much. It was more accessible than expected, everyone was friendly, and a side benefit is really watching all the kids around you have such a good time. There's a reason so many consider an orchard visit a fall tradition. Tuttle Orchard is a great place to start that tradition with your friends and family.

It smells awesome as soon as you walk in. They specialized in fresh fruit cups/bowls. I must admit that the fruit is picturesque. It looks and tastes very fresh. I opted to get a bowl of my favorite fruit; pineapple, kiwi, blackberries, strawberries, ohhh my. I top it off with some chamoy. It was delicious. It sure beats those pre made bowls from the grocery store. And a great alternative to fast food. They really pack the fruit in the cups and bowls. You get your money's worth. I went there during the peak time so I had a bit of a wait. But they have jams playing throughout the shop while you wait. The owner was awesome. She was very, humble, helpful, and friendly. She told me about the shops future plans, which included smoothies (probably October) and a veggie bar. I highly recommend getting here early because they do not have an infinite supply of daily fresh fruit and have been known to run out of some of the popular fruits before closing time. You really need to check this place out. And I am not seeing if you happen to pass by it. This is a shop that you can make a special trip for.
