Such a great time! I took my two littles and they have so much fun. The spot is popular so lines do get long but the products are amazing. The apple cider donuts are in season as well as the gallon of apple cider for purchase. Several spots offer hot food and drinks. We also enjoyed the live music.

We like Saturday morning walks on the Monon Trail with a pass through the Carmel Farmer's Market. There a lot more vendors here this year than years past. They open at 8am and it gets crowded as the morning progresses. One of our favorite vendor stops is St. Athanasius. They sell a variety of homemade baked goods. We love their biscotti. If you get there early, you can buy a 6 piece variety pack. If they are out of that, you can't go wrong with the Almond Biscotti. Their biscotti is not overly hard like some. We like that ... easier on the teeth and still great for dunking in coffee! Another favorite is We Guac Your World. Both their guacamole and salsa is great! It's made fresh and lasts well in the frig. It's become a staple item in our household. Even if you don't make any purchases, it's fun to stroll the Market, look at the vendors, people watch and listen to the live music. The Market is open every Saturday, 8am to 11:30am, from May through September.

The best way to spend your Saturday morning! This farmer's market is one you won't want to miss. They have coffee and breakfast stands to enjoy breakfast in the sun while you're shopping, and some of the best farms around. I always end up coming home with more than I planned because there are so many good finds. Be sure to talk with the stand owner about any questions you have. They have great recipe recommendations! Everything I got today (pictured) Paloma Cocktail Mix - $15 Kale -$4 Zucchini - $1 each Tomato - $4.99 per lb Peas - $4 Flowers - $15 Summer flower honey Bees wax chapstick - $4.75 Small honey gift jar - $6.75

The market is finally open for the season this May and I can already tell that I'm going to be spending a lot of time out here on Saturday mornings. It's centrally located right in the middle of the Carmel City Center. They have everything you need here from Kombucha, to fresh mushrooms, to Chai Tea, waffles, and fresh farm meats. It's really a great way to spend a Saturday morning and I love bringing people here from out of town. My go to is the masala chai booth followed by bread at Circle City.

Finally made it and oh was it worth it!! All of the vendors we encountered were wonderful! We being me and my Mommy. Everyone was excited about their product, happy to answer questions, and made the overall experience heart warming. You can't get that at your local grocery store, well I haven't experienced it. Where else can you get Peach Cinnamon or Banana Foster jam/jelly, a monster of an eggplant for $1, or Krab Butter!! Yes, you read that right, Krab Butter. Arepas, pupusas, ribs, Crêpes, cookies, pies..oh my. There's gladiolas, mums, homemade spice mixes, wine, nitro cold brew..something for everyone. The live music was also a nice bonus. I've been to a few farmers markets around Indy and this one was my favorite. The location has ample parking, some seating at tables or on the steps, a variety of vendors, and an overall welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend you go before the season is over, last Saturday in September. Note: No pets allowed. I'm a dog lover but love this policy. The crowds can be overwhelming for some animals and the heat can be rough on their paws; lots of concrete paths.

This is a great farmer's market that has everything you could need! From breakfast to dinner, they have it all! Try to get there early, as it can be crowded, but it is great! If you're willing to wait, The Walking Waffle has an awesome waffle!

Nothing beats the farmers market here locally. I love that I can grab any type of breakfast here to start my morning. Follow that up with my shopping for fresh tomatoes or sweet corn. Cookies. Popcorn. Listen to some music. It's always a great event and shopping.

My favorite time of the year!

I went to a trailer to learn about prevention of home fires and how to signal for help from an upper floor. I have a video of me breaking a board with the foot! Moreover, an organization was offering free hot pancakes with 2% real maple syrup, butter, and mini bottled water. What a tasty treat as I have not had pancakes in a long time! This trip at the market and after learning about their process, I bought a $2 yellow squash from a vendor who uses essential oils to distract inserts/bugs and their own animals' waste as fertilizer. I will taste to determine if similar to other growers. Also, I bought again the $14 (6) frozen chicken eggrolls. I air fried one upon arriving at home. Yummy! Another new and happening morning! Very educational.

The salad had paper thin noodles in a vinegar seasoning that was tangy and delicious. My husband had the roast beef sandwich, which was packed with meat and cheese. He loved it. A staff member checked on us to see if we needed anything while we were eating. There is plenty of seating and patio seating as well. The space is shared with Slapfish. This farmers market was well organized and they had a lot of different vendors here. I did notice that you must get here early because by 11am some vendors are running out of items. The fresh corn line stayed long until the moment they sold out. I was thirsty and the lemonade from the popcorn and lemonade stand was tasty. I will definitely be back to provide them with repeat business. SPOILER ALERT: Overall, this was a great farmers' market, but there were way too many dogs. I also noticed several dogs relieving themselves mid-walk, right on the concrete, which I found pretty gross, especially with so much food around. Germs can easily spread in that environment. On top of that, I have a severe allergy to pet dander. Many people don't realize how this can affect others when they let their dogs wander instead of keeping them close on a leash. I grew up with dogs and know there are dog parks, but I wish people would leave their pets at home in the air conditioning when visiting places with food. This is the reason for a lower rating. Anyways, I will return early to get fresh fruit, corn, and the lemonade.

Arrive as early as you can on your chosen day between Thanksgiving and Christmas. In the years I've gone to the Markt, the service is always friendly and the food stalls are usually pretty quick about it, or as best they can be with the given volume of foot traffic. There's tons of food, ranging from classic bratwursts to the more Americanized options like pizza and waffles and then to the more adventurous sauerkraut and mushrooms! There's plenty of vegetarian options too - I really like the hot noodles with cheese (casespaetzle) and the spiral-cut potato on a stick! Let me try to list out all the things I've tried at the Markt this past year, and just rate by a simple pick (yes, you should try it) or pitch (not really worth it if you want guaranteed flavor) - Doner kebab: PICK - Walking waffle: pitch - Belgian hot chocolate: pick (it's expensive though, $11 in 2025) - Peppermint hot chocolate: pick - Sautéed mushrooms and sauerkraut: pitch - Kielbasa: pick - Hot noodles with cheese: pick - Spiral potato on a stick: pick - Chimney cake: pitch It's all great food but can be slightly expensive. There are definitely plenty of things that are under $10 if you look, and usually the vegetarian options are around that price. The stalls/huts are all very scenic with a cabin-like design, so the market is very charming. Each hut also has a German trivia sign on it. My favorite huts are the loose leaf teas and the German candies/treats. There's also a ton of handmade stuff like beer steins that would make excellent Christmas gifts. Christkindlmarkt is hugely popular for many reasons: food, atmosphere, ice skating, and maybe even the collectible boot mugs!
