Dined here with my wife once and did carryout once. Here are my observations:…read more Service: -waitress on our visit was personable and attentive -carryout order was ready when I arrived and checkout was smooth -on both occasions, all items were received as ordered Ambiance: -you have to navigate some steep steps after you enter the door to reach the place, so could be a challenge for some -interior is dark, which when the sun peers through the windows it can be a challenging contrast on the eye -walls are filled with various decoration. appreciate the Chicago-vibe, but it's a little busy visually Food: (Visit #1) -not a lot of options for non-meat eaters (which my wife is) -we split the Spicy Cheese Curds ($11), which I believe were simply fried pepper jack cheese cubes (a generous portion) that came with a side of ranch. It had a kick, so it was what it said it would be. -we also split a Cheese Pizza ($17) on their regular crust. the cheese was generously applied, sauce was OK, the crust was subpar and not something we would order again (Visit #2) -Bavarian Pretzel Sticks ($12) come as an order of 4 lightly salted sticks with sides of nacho cheese and honey mustard. The sticks are among the better pretzel offerings I have had. Not the best (that would be 101 craft kitchen and Red Front), but definitely better than average. -Da Beef ($14) was a nice portion of beef. Because I was doing carryout, I got the sauce on the side. -the sandwich came with a side of their in house chips, which I really liked. they aren't seasoned if that's your thing, but I simply appreciate a fresh made potato chip and they were that Overall, if you like meat, it's probably on their menu and I'm guessing will scratch your itch. If you're not a meat-eater, it probably won't appeal. If stairs aren't your thing, it could be a dealbreaker unless there's another route I don't know of.

I came here on a whim and I'm glad I did!…read more Kuma's corner kind of feels like a rock concert venue turned restaurant on the inside, with lots of memorabilia in there. There's a bit of grunge aesthetic too. I opted for the patio seating on the nice day that I visited. Service worked pretty quickly and friendly. I got a mocktail to start that was cranberry, orange, and pineapple juice. It was pretty yummy. I was far more impressed by the foooood! My partner and I split a burger and Mac and cheese. The size small was $9 and was honestly huge. It was definitely enough food for two. The burger we got was also a good size, and came with a lot of shoestring onion on top. The burger was $18 but it's a 10 oz patty which is practically a better deal than most other burgers out there. I'll be back again sometime for sure!

Convenient location. Zero proof drinks. There were some reviews about long wait times, non-toasted buns and the cost but the write up of the place itself gave me nostalgia vibes for a place called Cobra Burger in Richmond, VA so I had to try my luck. I really wanted to love this place, as I've not found anything like Cobra Burger here in Indy. When we arrived, around 6:45p on a Thursday, the patio had a good amount of people, but inside was pretty empty apart from the bar. We sat at a two top in the bar area. The music was at a pretty low volume, especially considering the amount of reviews that said otherwise. Our server was also bartender, so it initially took her a couple of minutes to come over, which is understandable. She took our order for drinks and then after bringing them back for the food. She was nice and provided good service although juggling tables and the bar, plus she was also pregnant. It took a very long time for us to get our food (close to an hour), despite three guys working the line in the kitchen, banging out burger after burger. The food arrived, hot and correct. Both my husband and I were disappointed that the reviews were right and the burger buns were not toasted. Non-toasted burger buns actually make the burgers harder to eat and less enjoyable. My burger was decent for a non-handmade vegan option; for the price my expectation is amor sophisticated/handmade creative one, but I am thankful that they had a vegan option at all. My husband thought his burger was just okay and that he's had better ones around Indy, so we probably won't be dining here again. For the size of the burger, they should bring you ample napkins without having to ask because it is very messy trying to eat them. For two burgers with fries, one small mac & cheese, and three beers (one regular and two nonalcoholic) before tip the bill was over $80. Now, if the food was top-tier fantastic, I would say fine but being that it was more middle of the road it's a bit pricey.

Our service was fast at first but then slowed down as the rush increased, which makes sense but I think at one point, we had waited about 20 minutes after finishing eating to get the bill. I feel like, in a way, the twisty shape helps make it easier to take smaller bites (mozzarella sticks can be a bit choking hazard, y'all, stay safe). For dinner, we split a pizza. I forgot the name of it, but I liked it. It was one of their signatures. It wasn't anything crazy special though. I'd come by again if the opportunity comes up!

The cutlet was a good size, the appearance was what you'd want, the cutlet far over the bun. Unfortunately it was dry and not particularly flavorful. The accompanying slaw (my preference instead of fries) was fine, as least it provided a counterpoint to the fried pork. But honestly, next time I'm in the area, I'd pass on Bubba's and probably won't be hankering for a pork sandwich again.

So imagine my (pleasant) surprise that there was but one Triple XXX restaurant that remained open, carrying the torch (as it were) for that great root beer! So on a nice and humid Saturday, me, hubby, and our little Puppy hopped in the car for a 2+ hr drive to West Lafayette IN for lunch! Of course - we got there - an old-style-diner-like building perched on a hill close to Perdue University in West Lafayette! We were seated in the outdoor "full service" tented section of the restaurant (covered) and perused the menu. After ordering the obligatory Triple XXX root beer (but of course - which came with free refills) we turned to the menu! Hubby ordered the Barney Burger - a 1/4 lb chop steak burger with cheese and grilled onions - as fyi, no burger comes with condiments- you get to "dress your own the way you like it" with condi's on the table. I ordered the Bernie Flowers All-Pro - a 1/4 lb chop steak with lettuce, tomato, onion (which I held) and Miracle Whip (yes!) on a toasty sesame bun. We both got curly fries (which were yummy, btw). Ok- first thoughts- the burgers - while fresh- were a bit dry. Hmm. The lettuce on my Bernie was a nice, crisp, and cold leaf. Yes! The tomato was freshly sliced and - honestly- looked like one I'd cut at home. Sweet! So why the 4 stars - I mentioned the meat was dry? Oh my. Yes, that's the sole demerit. But props to the fries and the awesome Root Beer! We enjoyed it - and just in the nick of time. No sooner did we finish up than a severe thunderstorm rolled into town! So we skedaddled to the car, hopped in, and drove thru drenching rain, super strong winds, some light hail - until we got outta Indiana on our way back to Illinois. Would we come again? Of course! Gotta support places like this-they're an important part of Americana! Check it out yourself and enjoy- as we did!

The fries are yummy, and the burger was perfect for what I needed a solid meal since I hadn't eaten in almost 9 hours. Yep sounds like a personal problem. But hey at least the food here has been perfect both times. Maybe next time I will buy a shirt or at least some root beers to go with me. My burger was a true knife and fork meal. At least I am too old to be wearing my chili all over my beard and shirt. Highly recommend if in the area and it is only 5 miles off the interstate. Drive in and enjoy a yummy meal.

They do not have dine-in or walk-up service. They only offer car service, which you can place your order ahead via the web or phone. They specialize in various types of burgers and they have sandwiches (pulled pork, chicken, egg salad, grilled cheese, and hot dogs). Be sure to save room for their dessert items, including sundaes and brownies. They have a menu on the wall, that you can see when you are parked. They also bring paper menus out to you as well. My server, Daniel, was awesome. He was very, very friendly, upbeat, helpful, and courteous. I ended up ordering the Galley Boy, which they titled "America's Best Cheeseburger. Their onion rings are lightly battered, thin slices of onion, with a very pleasant onion taste. They were a little on the greasy side and overcooked. Next up the coney the hotdog itself was good. The texture of the Coney sauce was good, but I was expecting it to have a little more flavor. Lastly, the root beer. It tasted like A&W root beer. The flavor was good. But, be aware of their sizing.
