Gene is the man! I've been here a few times for dry cleaning specifically. Everything comes back great and crisp! No complains here! Gene is such a great guy too! I dropped off a white dress and he told me he might not be able to do much with it due to the fabric. When I came back to pick up, he told me up front that he couldn't clean the dress and took it off the bill. Also, Gene has impeccable memory. i have been a loyal customer for 8 years. The owner has lost 1 designer shirt in the past and recently ripped the sleeve when I went to pick up my shirts an d said it wasn't his fault. and recently other shirts that were dry cleaned came back ruined. I addressed the owner and he was very rude and couldn't care less what happened. I went to another local dry cleaners. I will never go back to fashion valet. read more

I have been coming here for years. I always respect the way the owner is honest and the owner is very hands-on and will put a little extra time for you and your favorite things look new. He will let you know a stain is not going to come out, you can trust him not to waste your money. But if anyone can do it he can. After all, this is his specialty. And the prices are fair. He is a regular guy from the neighborhood. I think he has been in this location for forty years or so. If you are new in the area, he can let you know where the local hangouts are or give you directions. read more

Do Not Go Here. Updating my last review, I returned to the Fashion Valet to see if they found the suit they lost. This was a disaster from the beginning. The owner immediately put his head down and acted like he didn't know me (before admitting he remembered me). Over the course of a very unpleasant conversation, he never denied that they lost my suit and never offered to do anything to make it right... he didn't ever offer to refund the cost of cleaning the suit he lost. He also raised his voice at me several times and even cursed. When he cursed, I said "don't curse at me." He said "I didn't curse at you." I said, "ok, don't curse to me." He said "I didn't curse to you." Just like loosing a suit, he can't deny that he did it, he just isn't responsible for the harm he causes. Everyone makes mistakes and there is no shame in mistakes. How you handle your mistakes reveals your character. The man I dealt with is of bad character and lacks integrity. Do yourself a favor and find an honest dry cleaner, not the Fashion Valet. I will be reporting this operation to the Better Business Bureau and the Department of Consumer Affairs. Also, so you know I'm honest, please check the other reviews I've posted. Before I travel, I have a ritual. I always bring my shirts to Fashion Valet. And I am so glad I do, because the shirts are perfectly folded and boxed, ready to be packed in my suitcase. Fashion Valet does a terrific job at a fair price. Love them!! read more

UNTRUSTWORTHY AND DECEITFUL is all I can sadly say about my experience with The Fashion Valet: Professional Cleaners located in Paramus, NJ at 59E Ridgewood Ave, #A. I can only speak of the lack of integrity with regard to their shoe repair service, being that this business also comes up when doing a Google search for shoe repair. I didn't mind that they were not able to fulfill their obligation to add a one-inch lift sole to 2 shoes for a patient of mine, it was that they notified me 6 days after I dropped the shoes off!...You can decide for yourselves if this was B.S. I dropped off the shoes on a Friday and to be honest, they were to be sent out on the next Monday and ready for pick-up on the following Monday. I was not given a time frame so this was not a 'maybe'. I even called on the Tuesday to be sure that all was going according to the arrangement because it had to do with an elderly patient being able to attend his grandson's wedding out of state with his family. I was told that the shoes were in fact picked up and told once again that I could pick them up as scheduled. The following Thursday I received a call stating that the shoe repair person required a prescription. We had a prescription, so I offered to bring it directly to him as I was told he was located close-by in Hackensack. However, the shoes were NOT picked up, sooooo I offered to drive to Paramus to get the shoes then to Hackensack to drop the shoes and script to the guy....BUT then all of a sudden the shoe guy was either about to have surgery or was actually having surgery at the moment of our conversation BUT then I was told that they would call on Friday morning to see if he could do it as the other persons on his staff weren't 'licensed' to work on the shoes. I received the Friday morning call informing me that he was unable to do it. I was also told that I should have mentioned that the order was needed by a certain time..I guess the shoe guy would have canceled his 'supposed' surgery. UGH! I was then recommended to another shoe repair a 30 minute drive away. I figure if this is the kind of B.S. that is shelled out from this business, it's not worth taking a chance with laundry either...wasn't surprised to read other reviews with bad experiences with clothing. There are other reputable Cleaner/Laundry/Shoe repair in the Bergen County area easily found on the internet Yellow Pages...I will also post a review for the repair service I use. Hope this helps someone avoid alot of unnecessary frustration. Most sad with so many decent businesses going under in this economy...let's support those with integrity! Blessings to ALL! WARNING! Do not bring anything valuable to this dry cleaner. The owner is unprofessional and mentally unstable. I brought my $400 leather jacket to be cleaned and waterproofed. When I received the jacket back the fur collar was burnt. I called the owner from the store and explained the problem and even sent a picture. Instead of apologizing, he simply said, "I never heard of this before". He was annoyed with me but agreed to repair the collar, so I reluctantly left it with him. After a week I called asking when I will receive my jacket back. He said to wait another week because he was on vacation. Two more weeks passed and after numerous calls arguing with him, and him hanging up on me, I went to the store demanding my jacket. He said he did not have it and told me to leave. When I refused to leave he actually called the police. I told the police he was trying to steal my jacket. He told the police he would have my jacket the next morning at 7am. I arrived at the store the following morning at 7am, and low and behold my jacket was hanging there on the rack. The collar was still damaged and now had a few buttons missing. To my amazement he actually wanted me to pay him the $45 otherwise he would not give me my jacket back. After paying him, I wished him well because he definitely needs help, but will NEVER return again. I strongly advise anyone to not use this dry cleaner. There are many other better options in the Paramus area. read more

This place took my shirt and ruined it. They got the button caught in their machine, they "made my pants smaller" which looked like a child did it, and then the owner told me that I was unclear about what I wanted . I had asked for my shirt to be dry cleaned and my pants to be taken in an inch so I'm not sure what's unclear about that. When I told him I want my money back he said "ok but you're being harsh." I'm being harsh? I paid you for a service you didn't complete and now I have to try to by the exact button that was on my shirt and pay my usual dry cleaner to fix your mess. Unfortunately, When I went to go pick up my dry cleaners I received a shirt with a couple of stains on it that hadn't been there before. Usually like any dry cleaners they would indicate a stain with a tag or inform you before processing. I went back and left my shirt with my name and number for the owner to call me back. I was expecting a phone call from the owner. After 2 days, his response to me was "It was my day off". The following day I had went to go speak to him and pick up my shirt to see if we can come to an understanding because my shirt was not brought with burn marks and stains to begin with. His exact words to me was "I am nothing to him", "I am a lair", "Trying to get money for a shirt", "Mistakes do happen", "I am really busy" walked away from me multiple times as I kept speaking to him "Sir, please do not walk away it is not professional".
