I was then recommended to go to lepore's italian market, which had elite sandwiches. I got many "how ya doin's." I picked up three pairs of shoes that I had repaired from them and when I got home, I realized that they had given me somebody else's shoe and place of a boot that they didn't give me. I brought my Danner Hiking Boots into Bill's to get them resoled. I searched online, and found that he was an authorized Vibram Repair Center. I live about 45 minutes from his shop and didn't know what to expect. I had these boots resoled before with cheap soletechs put on them. They lasted about 3 months on the trail then fell apart. Bill was great, he walked me through the whole process of what the job detailed. My boots look brand new now with a fresh polish on them. I'm ready to hit the trails again. My experience with shoe repair people is that they are magicians, able to fix a wide range of other things that appeared to have little if anything to do with shoes, although certainly their abilities to fix shoes and the like are terrific as well. Recently I needed a repair on a foot orthotic on which I am completely dependent to walk. I could not afford to wait more than a day or so to have this fixed, but was unable to find anyone who was qualified to perform what look like just a minor replacement of a tiny clasp which is integral in upholding the integrity of the brace. Lo and behold, I called Bill shoe repair and found that they were willing to take a look to see if they might help. Lo and behold, just a few minutes after they examined the item, Bill found a replacement part that was able to completely restore the AFO to its original state. I am eternally grateful, because this relatively small job is key in my ability to function. And Bill was actually unwilling to take any payment for this job. This is the mark of a true craftsman who is the gold standard for competence and kindness. All of the reviews that I've read are accurate--he is a class act. read more

Will take all my future business to Bill's even though farther from home. My son is going to Marine Officer Candidate School in Quantico VA on Monday and his boots had seams that gave him blisters. Took them to the first shoe repair shop and was told dismissively that they could not fix them. Took them to Bill's on Thursday, he said he could fix them by Saturday. They were ready Friday, the problem was fixed and they did not charge me and had a big thank you to my son on the claim ticket (he is not even a Marine yet).
