Just a great place to sit on the sand at your table, the only place they don't have to sweep the floors they rake them! Relax and have a good cocktail and some awesome seafood! The Lobster Thermidor is amazing along with a very tasty Mexican style shrimp cocktail and service is just as good. The taxi will drop you right at the front door driving through the street vending stands! The complaints you hear about the street vendors bugging you at your table is all part of the experience! Our first trip I think we stayed there for about 2 1/2 hours had multiple Modelos, and margaritas, along with salsa, guacamole and chips, shrimp cocktail, lobster and fish tacos and the bill was 60.00us!!!!! read more

Gigantic portions, strong drinks, nice breeze, and attentive waiter. The guacamole is soo good. Not much more too ask for. Chicken fingers are crispy while juicy. The grilled Red Snapper is a must try, it's so good my husband is eating the skin. He never eats the skin. When they say garlic and butter they're not kidding. Come check them out. read more

If you're in Nuevo Vallarta Fatboy seafood definitely is a place to stop. The little town is nice with a fleamarket behind the restaurant. The food is really good fresh and great prices. The service is awesome. The one downfall is you're going to get mini mini street vendors coming up to you including kids. That don't take no for an answer. But that's not the restaurants fault. They tried to keep them away but they continue to come. The food is great though as you can see from my photos. read more

Fat boy Seafood seems like a nice place to have a cerveza and fish tacos on the beach. Unfortunately, our negative experience overshadowed the mediocre, albeit expensive food. To begin with, beach sellers were allowed to walk everywhere on the restaurant site to the point where we were bugged constantly to buy something. At one point, a little boy, about 6 or 7, came to our table to sell a keychain. He looked so hot and tired we offered him food and drink. He answered, "no, mister, just buy something. Please just buy." It was hard to see. The worst part of the meal came when, after an hour of no wait staff, we hunted down the waiter for the bill. We paid with a 15% tip. The waiter, Joshua, loudly said. What is this? Is the food not good enough? How can I help support my friends in the kitchen? This is not enough. So my husband and I, sooo embarrassed, started adding bills to the folder. We must of added another $300 pesos before he would stop berating us. We were so embarrassed and then realized this was not only a bullying SCAM but a result of a restaurant chain not giving its employees a living wage. I do not recommend. No one should be bullied. read more

Great seafood restaurant right on the beach. Quick and excellent service throughout the whole lunch process. The waiter started off by showing us the catches of the day which were presented on a huge serving platter. We ordered many beers, guacamole and chips to start off with. Entree's include bomb coconut colossal shrimp (catch of the day), bacon wrapped colossal shrimp (yep, COD), shrimp cocktails (not COD) and grilled chicken nachos. El Gordo aka The Fatboy was recommended by the owner of the fishing boat we went on and did not disappoint at all. We grabbed a table on the sand, which meant that all the street vendors came to the table. So if U don't want to be bothered to buy silver bracelets and chiclets, u should sit inside. We ordered the ceviche pescado and it was amazing! Only better ceviche we had was the one that the fishing guys made on the boat we took the day before, from a fish we actually caught so it was literally the freshest fish ever. This came in second! So good. I had vodka and agua mineral con limon, he had pacificos, all went well with the cocktails. Service was great, food was great. And the location and views can't be beat. Right on the ocean, with palapas for shade. And u can write your names and whatever stuff u want on the wood beams that hold up the palapas. Like your anniversary or birthday or whatever. After walking around the flea market, we decided to eat at this place which was recommended by many for their seafood choice. We walked in and waited not too long to get seated. This restaurant can seat you by the ocean or inside the restaurant upstairs. We ordered the pico de gallo and guacamole with chips to start - of course and some beverages. We ordered the combo platter with garlic fried fish, prawns, and lobster which was enough for me, my husband and 5 year old daughter. The service was good considering how busy the place is! They only take cash and charge a premium if you use US$ so I went across the street to an ATM for pecos. The shrimp and fish tacos were the best we have had in Bucerías. The fajitas were great but lacked a little queso. The cerci he was good also. Definitely worth the visit. Just finished dinner at Fat Boys #1. The server, Victor was great. After that, everything went downhill. I got the scallops and they were overcooked and horrible. The amount of food for the price was decent. These were the worst scallops I ever had. My wife's food was ok, as long as we dodged the flies. Having people constantly trying to sell you their wares while you try to eat is terrible too. My wife's Sangria was not good. At least my 2 Stella's were good. We have come to Nuevo Vallarta for 20+ years and have enjoyed many great meals. This was not one of them. read more

Visited for dinner based on recommendation from our resort. It was okay. The wait staff was very friendly and went out of their way to please. The local sales pitches (lots of children) throughout the entire visit were a bit much, but they were all friendly. My husband ordered the tacos and I ordered the fajitas. Our meals were identical. His chicken came in the shell & mine was served with shells on the side, that was the only difference between the tacos and fajitas. Interesting. read more
