I even asked him to when we entered the Milwaukee courthouse. He never said a word on my behalf, and I mean nothing. He just sat in a chair with his hands on the table. The judge asked him if he had anything to say, and he replied "No, your honor". I was very disappointed with his attitude and representation. After the court hearing, I asked him why he didn't advocate on my behalf. He shrugged his shoulders, lifted his hands and slapped his thighs, and said nothing. At this point I realized what a mistake I made retaining him. A few weeks later, he had the nerve to send me a bill for another $700. I had no choice and paid it. I'm surprised he still practicing law. I feel because of his dishonesty, that he should be disbarred. My advice to anyone needed an attorney in a divorce proceeding is to go somewhere else and just stay away from Magner And Hueneke.

Don't believe all of the fake reviews they've been piling on since I've left this review. This law firm are snakes and will rip you off if you have to do Chapter 13. ********** I've been overbilled thousands of dollars by Steve Berg. Steve would call me to ask me questions and would take a question that took 5 minutes to answer and turn it into a 45 - 60 minute call. Then he would call me again days later because he "misplaced" my answer. So, another 45-60 minute call. Then he would call a week or two later asking the same question. Each and every time I was billed for full hours for Steve Berg. I had suspected something was going on so I demanded all communication happen via email. Steve Berg got upset and stopped communicating completely, even important case issues. He emailed a couple of times but eventually went back yo his old tactics of multiple phone calls regarding the same issues over and over again. I've been billed for tax return review and submit to the trustee but then months later I get a notice that my return was never sent to the trustee and my case was set for dismissal as a result. When they did finally send them, they billed me again. This has happened twice.

The firm made me pay an additional consultation fee to meet with the second attorney, which I thought was odd. After less than an hour in the office, the second attorney told me that I didn't have a case. Not only was I out one, but two consultation fees, and left exactly where I started. Today, I read an article where an attorney at Hawks Quindel is representing a volunteer who is suing a non-profit organization (a volunteer rescue squad) because he felt that he should be paid for his volunteer service. While I wholeheartedly agree that Paramedics deserve good pay, that volunteer KNEW what he was signing up for when he applied to be a volunteer. After looking into said volunteer, I see that he has felony convictions for Medicare fraud, in which he was ordered to pay over a MILLION dollars in unearned fraudulent claims. So he turns to suing a volunteer run ambulance service to pay back his debts? I don't think so. Hawks Quindel should be ashamed of themselves for representing a professional con artist.
