I get it. I, too, was clueless when it comes with financial education. My parents didn't teach me anything and growing up, I saw them struggled with money and for this matter, I was on the pursuit to learn so I can make better decisions for my future. And that's when I found out about COFEC (Community Outreach Financial Education Class) with the help of Sheng Vang and Terrie Bui through one of my colleagues. A few months ago, I joined one of their weekly Saturday workshops​ to help find the financial peace of mind. I was blown away by the amount of knowledge and their mission to reach out to the community to impact and ensure families get the right education with the right resources that fit best for their success. Never had I felt like this group was trying to 'sell' me anything I didn't need. All they ever wanted was to teach, impact, and clear up any concerns and guide people in​ the right direction. I came to Sheng with questions about how to set up my retirement fund and rather than just tell me what to do, she educated me first! She explained the different methods there are for setting up a retirement fund, how these funds work, the pros and cons to each one. Then she asked how I wanted to proceed, which method I wanted to use for my retirement. She was patient with my many questions, clear in all of her explanations, and helped me when there was a complication that arose. I finally felt peace about my retirement fund because of how she educated me about it and gave me the decision for what to do with my money. I worked with Sheng Vang from the Financial Architects to help achieve a goal of mine. My goal was to build on a sum of money I came across for the purpose of combating my student loans and to build wealth. Sheng thoroughly researched the best options for me with my goals in mind and concluded a fixed annuity will be the best place to place my money as a soon to be graduate of college.
