The seasonal buttermilk chicken sandwich at Reuben Haus is one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in Alaska. The chicken was incredibly juicy with a perfectly crispy coating--not dry at all. It comes on a soft, slightly sweet potato bun with a sweet-and-spicy aioli and a slaw-style topping instead of plain lettuce, which adds great flavor and texture. I also ordered a small fry, and "small" is a little misleading in the best possible way. The portion was huge--easily the size of a large fry at most restaurants. If you're thinking about ordering a large, be prepared to share. I've heard great things about the reubens, but honestly, it's the chicken sandwich that keeps bringing me back. The fact that it's only available seasonally makes it even harder to wait for summer every year. If you see this sandwich on the menu, do yourself a favor and order it. You won't regret it.
