We picked Top Gun Charters out of Key Biscayne (Miami) even though we were traveling down to Key West. Reviews, pictures and a gut feeling were all the right reasons to pick them. My sons caught a 60lb Sailfish, a 50lb Sailfish and a plus 30lb King Mackerel. Throw in 8 very large Bonito, a few broken lines and it was one hell of a fishing trip. All 3 sons who grew up fishing in Florida oceans caught their largest fish ever. Captain Dave did an unbelievable job keeping his eyes constantly on the horizon looking for birds working. The 1st mate Jose was so helpful coaching 2 of my sons while they caught their Sailfish he made it seem easy and really relaxed them to the point where they could not have enjoyed the event anymore then they did. We had an extra mate Matt and he also went above and beyond to make this a GREAT fishing trip!!! Highly Recommend!!!

Captain switched the fish we caught with something he had in his cooler and saved our fresh catch to sell. From what I hear he used to keep all the fish but at least now he offers some of it up for you to take home. Just thought it was little sneaky for him to switch a previously caught fish for the fresh ones we caught. Keep an eye on them when you get back to the dock and negotiate what you get to take home before booking the charter. Again, the experience was good and Captain and crew were great when fishing.

This place has really gone down hill quick. I was certified through them at the south beach shop…read morewhich was a wonderful experience, the dive guides were so helpful and supportive. The last two dive trips that we have done with them were great and we had a wonderful time. I have done approximately 20 dives with this company. However, this last time the guides were so disconnected. Michael and Dololly in the shop were so helpful but as soon as we got on the boat we were basically on our own. The only person that was even remotely helpful was Marco, who we had dove with before. He seemed to be the only guide that knew how to man the boat. Riley was absolutely clueless and rude. She was the guide that stayed on the boat to help us on/off the boat and while my mother was trying to get back on, she let go of her without warning leading to her falling and gashing open her leg. When I asked my mom what happened to her leg Riley snidely commented well she fell on the boat. Then while she was helping me get on the boat she grabbed my air gauge causing me to almost fall as well. One of the guides, didn't catch his name, was drinking alcohol on the boat before and after the dive while certifying a 10 year old boy. I don't understand how this is allowed. Furthermore, our guide left us in the middle of the dive. He eventually showed up but did not seem able to navigate under water as the previous guides had. Which was very nerve wracking considering the currents we were moving into. He also did not help with getting on and off of the boat for the dives. He was very disengaged with our group and did not seem to want to even be a guide. Overall, a bad experience sadly as we have enjoyed our previous trips with them. It seems their guides have become much less knowledgeable and supportive than they used to be. Most dive guides are personable and want to share their dive knowledge, however this group seems to be more about just getting it done.
