FunkyBlu playing sets the ambiance. best Jazz/blues type of music I've heard in past few years. Worth going if they're playing!!

We stopped in to The Fitz after dinner, that is a speak easy themed cocktail lounge that is underground to Oh My Darling. It is basement level and just a black unmarked door opens to the staircase leading down, that has clear signage. It definitely is like stepping back in time and there's no Wi-Fi service so guests are enjoying the live music or socializing! We ordered pretty quickly at the bar, we were not offered menus so I'm not sure what their signature cocktails are. Ordered a martini requested fruity, I believe it was raspberry not sure and a dark red for my friend. We sat in some cozy velvet purple chairs in the lounge area enjoying live Jazz music. My friend recalls this was a downstairs dining area for Burger King in the 80's-early 90's. The bar and Bath Room could be a bit tidier, but otherwise fun retro vibe. There is an historical piston machine on display that was used to run the building's original elevator utilizing steam! And now serves as decor and remanence of past decades. read more

Super fun speakeasy. Great vibe, decor, and live music! Unfortunately, it gets really loud. Not super expansive cocktail list, in fact there were no signature cocktails. This is fine because the drinks are GOOD anyway. Bar was busy and took a while to get a drink. read more

The drinks were good but the service was slow. The decor and location is super cool and has speakeasy vibes. The bartender didn't seem overly knowledgeable about the drinks like you normally find at these kinds of spots. My husband observed the bartender mix a drink with her finger which was semi concerning. read more

Went to a wedding reception at The Fitz last night. A great venue for a small and intimate event. The bartenders were spot on and came up with a few cocktails on the spot which were excellent. The catering was great as well. What was really appreciated was the comfortbale seating. So unlike the usual wedding venue receptions. read more

Lovely little place located under On My Darling in Syracuse. There is a secret entrance located in the café attached to Oh My Darling. Once you open the door you head down the stairs and you'll be entering into the bar and lounge. There is also a set of elevators that is located somewhere in Oh My Darling that will also bring you down. This is technically supposed to be a speakeasy but anyone can go, no need for a special code or anything. Once you enter you don't feel like you're in Syracuse anymore, it's almost like you entered into a time capsule. There is lots of fun antiques and industrial Decour. There is plenty of unique seating areas that are both functional, comfy, and unique. There is a stage in the bar area but no one was preforming during our visit. They have a large cocktail list and can also make pretty much whatever you want. They also have beer, seltzers and ciders. Drinks can be on the pricier side, but I feel like you're paying for the atmosphere. Definitely a cool place, I would recommend if you're in downtown to give this place to try since it is much different than some of the overcrowded bars in armory square. Overall a nice place to get a drink and chat with friends. Definitely will be back. read more

I've gone for wedding after parties and typical nights out, and the service is always personable and friendly. The drinks are quick and made well. The Fitz is a classy speakeasy style bar in the basement of Oh My Darling, a restaurant right in downtown Syracuse. I was there on a Saturday evening where there was live jazz music! It is a fun yet intimate atmosphere with booths, tables, and a big bar to stand at. Full bar with lots of specialty cocktails and tasty drinks. Some people were dressed up super classy, but my friends and I were dressed casual and didn't feel out of place. 10/10 would be back here again. read more

finally had a chance to try this place after 2 previous attempts where private events had booked out the place. the atmosphere and decor is awesome- really resembles the prohibition era and adds to the vibe of the place. lots of cute places to sit as well. our bartender was super nice and sweet as well! however- for a cocktail bar their menu is extremely limited. not a lot of specialty cocktails at all. i had an espresso martini and it was pretty mediocre, which is disappointing especially for the price of $16!! to give them credit, it's not technically on their menu but it really lacked in flavor, and i was pretty surprised by the upcharge considering the other cocktails are like 14. my friends were not wowed by their drinks either. cute atmosphere, but probably won't be back. read more

Very cute atmosphere, very dark and intimate. This place really gets you to connect with whoever you visit with because there is no cell service in the basement, so nothing to distract you lol. The drinks were tasty and there is a wide selection of liquor to choose from. The only thing that bummed me out was we couldn't order any appetizers because of Covid restrictions but other than that I'd definitely visit again. read more

Ok, so to break things down for those who don't know: Oh My Darling (the restaurant), The Fitz (the speakeasy), Clementine (the cafe) and The Whitney Lofts are all located in the same building and owned by Ryan and Leanne. The basically bought the building and turned it into a spot where you could go for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. It's really an awesome concept if you think about it. But for today I am going to focus on the Fitz. SO. The Fitz really is a hidden gem within the Syracuse bar scene. It mimics the speakeasy prohibition style but without the awkward pass code and sketchy back alley. Which is surprising because Syracuse in general is just like a giant sketchy back alley but it's chill. I am split about the decor. When you first enter there is soft seating area that has couches and an amazing elevator piston system that the literal Smithsonian museum wanted. It looks like a torture device but all it did was move the elevator up and down in the original building by a steam system. Pretty cool. In the main area, the decor is a little underwhelming. It gives off slight college basement vibes in some areas (AND YES KNOW REAL SPEAKEASIES WERE IN BASEMENTS.) I wish there were more carpets and just generally smaller little decorations on the walls, tables, etc. but over all it's awesome. Totally unique and we have NOTHING else like it in Syracuse. They went all out on the bar. It looks amazing. Moody lighting. 1920s tiles, modern bar stools. Love it Let's talk drinks. First of all they are super expensive. 10-15 dollars. They are all prohibition style cocktails so if you are looking for the clementine whiskey smash or lavender martini you better head on back upstairs. Obviously they can make a margarita if you want one but they mainly have old fashions, side cars, etc. Their drinks are VERY boozy so keep that in mind. We love the bar tenders there. So friendly and boy can they slay a cocktail. Now. If you want to come here and have a good time. DO NOT come on a Friday or Saturday. It gets crazy. Super hot with no circulating air. Long waits for drinks, screaming people. Not my vibe. Darren and I love going during the week. Monday-Thursday from 4-8 they have LIVE music. It's super chill and really lets you appreciate the space. It's the perfect place to just go and enjoy a drink and cheese board with your friends after a hard day at work. Overall, I love this place and spend way too much money here. Darren and I live a 2 min walk from here so the bartenders think we are crazy because we practically live here but we love it! I want to give it 5 stars. I would give it 4.5 just because I know people will complain about the price and the decor is ALMOST there but not quite. I ate at Oh My Darling a couple weeks ago, and thought the food was great; I had finally found a place that does Eggs Benedict well in the area. Imagine my surprise a few weeks later when my friends told me they were going to the speakeasy underneath the restaurant! Could there really be that much of a good thing all in this one building? Short answer, yes. Drinks here are very delicious. I can't remember the name of the one I ordered (twice) but it was 2nd from the bottom and was green with a raspberry in it. Great spot to grab drinks after dinner during the week. The bartenders here are also very nice and knowledgeable. I haven't experienced this myself, but I've heard from many people that during the weekends it gets crowded and kind of college-town fratty; so whether that's your scene or not, know that it happens there. read more

This was a really cool bar in the form of a speakeasy. I had a mojito, although a little pricey ($10), it was so good!! The bar is very spacious and does a nice job of representing the speakeasy atmosphere. There was only one bartender on staff, they definitely could've used another considering the crowd. It took me a bit to figure out exactly where this place is, but I was very happy once I found it (when the light is on above this nondescript door in Oh My Darling, that means The Fitz is open!). They have a nice list of craft cocktails, but I opted for my old standby, George Dickel. I found the drinks reasonably price, but I do live in DC. I like the design, dimness, and that there are no TVs. Plus it's hard to get a phone signal down there, so people actually have to talk to each other! But then again, one can always listen to the live music too! The knowledgeable staff and ambiance make this place an in-town favorite of mine! Went there with a group on a Saturday night. It was incredibly hot and muggy in the bar. There were 6 of us in our party and the bartender could not make 2/6 drinks because they were out of the liquors needed for both drinks. If you are a fan of craft cocktails, I would highly recommend The Fitz. I had two drinks. One was an old fashion and the other was a custom bitter drink with rye. The others in my party all enjoyed their drinks as well. The service was curt but still professional. The decor is very cool and fitz the speakeasy vibe. She is also very knowledgeable about all the whiskeys and spirits there. I've been here 5x as a customer on regular nights and 2x for special events. Never left disappointed ! I recently held a surprise birthday party here and everything was fantastic! It could not have been easier to work with the staff at The Fitz, including the owner, Ryan, and it was clear they wanted to make our event as special as they could. The bar area is beautiful and the private section we had for the party was perfect for 50 people. I also really like the many lounge spaces they have for small groups to gather for an intimate conversation. All of our guests loved the food and the drinks were delicious as well. If you're looking for a unique, fun place with some NYC vibes for a private event or just a fun night out away from the craziness of Armory Square The Fitz is the perfect spot! read more

Atmosphere is fun but the drinks are very expensive and the pours a very very small. It's crowded on weekends and the bar wait is long.

The Fitz is a great bar with an even cooler vibe. If you are in downtown Syracuse, you have to stop by and check it out. The drinks were great and fairly priced, and it is by far the coolest atmosphere in the city. read more
