Great, non-pretentious dive bar. The bartenders and owner are very friendly. First Friday of the month is 80's night!

A short wait for menus and to scour drink menu. I went with pomegranate cosmo, unfortunately it lacked presentation due to shortage of appropriate glassware. Server was apologetic, taste was pleasant but strong and lacking garnish. My friend just ordered a light draft and we ordered Reuben egg rolls to share. Best Reuben egg rolls I have had in the Cuse! Tons of tender corned beef, and just a hint of sauerkraut and Swiss served with thousands island dressing! I ordered an extra for take out for my Irish man at home and short rib tacos. Those did not keep well for take out, more meat and toppings would improve the continuity compared to tortillas. Service excellent, frequently checked upon for refills and food order. Prompt delivery and friendly service! Great place for meetups with a pub sports bar atmosphere. I'm not sure I noticed remanence of the prior press room. Many televisions great for sport events. Menu is simple and pub oriented.

I was really skeptical coming here late on a Saturday evening. Although I am well over age, they…read morehad an intimidating bouncer next by the door which was off-putting. The place itself if a dingy regular bar, with many small TVs around with sports on (and a surprisingly high amount of infomercials). We tried the Yelp check in perk (was pretty difficult to do, no one knew what it was). It's a seat yourself, serve yourself sort of environment (go up to the bar to order everything). That being said, I'm giving this place a 4/5 stars for the chicken tenders alone. I was very very pleasantly surprised (I expected all bar food to be bar food). The chicken tenders were very crispy and tasty. My one qualm is that the size of the different tenders is extremely varied/not uniform. This means between the different orders in the group, some portions looked much larger than others. In addition, as a note, the eight piece tenders does not come with fries, only the four piece. All in all, I was really pleasantly surprised by the food and will likely come back for the chicken tenders again in the future.

There are 4 or 5 bar/restaurants just across the street from the Courtyard Marriott Armory Square, where I stayed. First couple were really packed, due to the World Series, and so I walked a little farther down the street. Found Clinton Street Pub, which seemed like the local hangout from the looks inside. Not too many people, which meant plenty of room at the bar, which works for me. The waitress, forget her name, was very nice. Served quickly. At first didn't think it was anything special, until more people arrived and ordered their food. I took a look at the menu, and I could see why locals would return. Ordered Sal's Special Burger with deep fried cheese curds, Sal's sassy sauce, and coleslaw on a kaiser roll. How could I go wrong with that? Well, I didn't. In fact it was fantastic. The potato wedges were fried just right, not overdone, or underdone as many establishments struggle with, and the burger was much bigger, juicier and tastier, than expected. This place reminded me of Lark Street Tavern. The food is typical bar food, but the food is not typical, instead, much better than typical. See photo.

We stopped here and were seated instantly at a very comfy and roomy booth. Our server was great as well, I don't remember her name but, truly she was on top of it. We ordered some drinks over the course of our meals as they have a plethora of drinks to try! Their flavor notes to describe their drinks were very helpful to figure out what you'd like and our server was very helpful with making sure we got what we wanted! Our food was amazing and the price for everything was relatively fair and I think affordable for two people to get the full experience! I left extremely happy and definitely coming back for another date night! As we wanted to be away from crowds, at the time it wasn't too busy, but I felt like even if it was, it still wouldn't have hindered the experience, and my boyfriend attested to this as well for all those shy folk!

It's a great casual place to hang out or watch a game. There's also a game room in the back which we didn't get to see as there was a private event going on at the time. Both our hostess and waitress were stellar. Our waitress had a table of 8 with 5 different checks, didn't write anything down, and just nailed every order. She also had fantastic suggestions. I ordered "The Burn Notice" burger and it was fantastic! Just the right amount of heat, great flavor, their fries are really solid as well. They have a vast selection of beer, ales and IPAs and you can choose any four of them to make a flight. It comes in a wooden holder with your choices written in chalk. Really awesome! I forget the name, but try number 20, it's fantastic! My daughter recently moved to Syracuse and when visiting, this will be a regular stop. I can wait to try more.

We were greeted warmly by the bartender who was taken care of a few patrons at the bar. We grabbed menus and sat down at a separate area where the dart boards are. Sign said to go up to the bar to order. The bartender "Megan" was very friendly and made us feel at home. I ordered the smothered steak sandwich with curly fries. They had an up charge for fries over potato chips but I was in the mood for fries and it was reasonable $1.99. The sandwich was huge and I especially liked that the bun was toasted and crisp. The meat was not over cooked and the cheese was melted with the peppers and onions underneath. The fries looked pale but they were cooked and lightly salted. The cook brought the food out to us which was a nice touch. They checked on our table several times to make sure we were ok. My lunch mates had hamburgers which they really liked. I was unable to have a conversation with my boyfriend. An incredibly intoxicated man came up to me SCREAMING in my ear, while I was turned away with my finger in my ear to attempt to send a signal of disinterest and discomfort, his even more intoxicated friend then joined and encroached on my seat. When I jumped up, my skirt was stuck under him, because he was so close to me to a point that he was partially sitting on my stool. The bartender witnessed this interaction and continued pouring them drinks. While waiting for our take out order, I was so happy to have a drink in my hand. I have never "downed" a double gin and tonic faster in my life. There was no quiet corner to escape to, and my boyfriend was seething in anger and disgust the entire 20-25 minutes we waited there, as well as the 20 minute drive home. I was sorry that he didn't have a drink to take the edge off during our experience there, but he was not willing to give them a single dollar. At no point in my life would I have wanted to experience this place, and at no point will I be returning. Chicken wings were delicious.
