Very nice place very friendly people and good communication and very clean place

I recently started going to the Fix Massage after a friend told me that they were the best massage they've had in the Falls Church/Arlington Area. Previously, I'd have to drive all the way to Bethesda for a decent massage, or settle for the express massages in the mall that always left me more sore than when I came in! When I got there for the first time, I really liked the tranquil, intimate ambiance of the Fix. I came in because I had some neck/back pain from a long plane trip and some soreness in my shoulder from playing basketball. Jeannie (the massage therapist and owner) was awesome! I told her my problem areas and she worked her magic...she even incorporated some 'walking on my back' massage to get deeper into my problem areas. I've been going to this small woman-owned business for over two years. Jeannie is an educated therapist who makes me feel comfortable and "fixes" me with all the kinks that I have on my body. And in return, I would literally put my life in front of Jeannie in the line of fire. But I digress slightly. I'm an Olympic Weightlifter and a law enforcement agent. As such my body gets a beating physically and in return I am mentally exhausted. But whenever I get an opportunity, I make sure to recharge by visiting Jeannie. Her knowledge in body parts is superb and she knows exactly how to treat me to help me get back on my feet. Additionally, she is easy to work with. She is extremely flexible with her schedule and I can casually text her to coordinate our next session without hassle. As long as I'm in D.C., I will not seek anyone but Jeannie. Also, the reviewer below who gave Jeannie a poor review is suspect at best. From the sound of it, he seems to be making incorrect and incomplete accusations about a voucher that was given three years ago. I was involved in a car accident several days ago and was experiencing lots of soreness and tightness in my back from the aftershock of it. I immediately thought to go to Jeannie to get my back worked on and that's what I did yesterday. Jeannie is amaaaazingly good! I don't write yelp reviews often, but I have to after my massage with Jeannie. I've had quite a few massages with other therapists in the past, but I am definitely sticking to Jeannie from now on. Her massage room is cozy and very clean. I have a long time lower back injury and am always looking for therapists who know what they are doing. Jeannie was great! She asked me before we started what was going on with my body. I felt like she listened to what I said and tailored the massage based on what my body needed. She found all my spots right away, I love that. I tend to like deep pressure and she made sure that it was just the right amount, checking in with me throughout the session to see if I was ok. The owner/operator is shady and dishonest. I bought two Gilt city vouchers and used her service one time years ago I realized I had one massage left so we communicated via text. I gave her the voucher numbers and she stated that they were redeemed on 02Feb14. I told her I only received one message. So basically she redeemed both vouchers on the same day and tells me that I used both vouchers questioning my integrity. This is not professional and I would expect a business owner to have better customer relation skill than this. So I am out of about 55 dollars because of the unscrupulous owner/operator. read more

Jeannie is amazing. She is super sweet, asks how you are feeling as soon as you walk in, listens to what you say and works the massage into all the problem spots exactly. I really want to give 5 stars, but a couple of things gave me pause. I will try it again to see if I can bump this up to 5 but for now... I got a Gilt City voucher and made and appointment very easily with Jeannie who is super sweet as all the other reviewers said. The place is a little sketch to get to: the parking lot is a tiny thing, with only one lane to come in and out and limited parking. I was lucky enough to get one immediately, right next to the recycling bins, which sounds weird. But, Jeannie sent a confirmation text as soon as I made my appointment, in which she graciously explained how to get to her door. There is a yellow sign by the bins (to the right) and it says the Fix, but it has no arrow. Follow the path it is on and there will be another yellow sign, then you reach the end and go down the 5 steps and the door in front of you (not to the side) is The Fix. The place is cute - Jeannie obviously put a lot of effort into making the space calm and serene despite the weird constraints of it. My only ehh moment was the bathroom - no lock on the door? And towels, which is cute, but disposable towels are more hygienic. Also, no hook for purse/coat. A little awkward: there is only the one room, so she hangs out at the computer while you go through the door right next to her desk and change and stuff, but she is super cool about it, and gives you plenty of time to relax in the room. The massage: Jeannie listens to you perfectly! Told her specific places that might need work, or to just move on if they don't. Told her medium pressure, and she understood that I really wanted to relax with this massage. I started on my back, which I've never done, but it was interesting. She covered my eyes with a cloth and used a lot of fragrant oil on my neck/upper shoulders so I could relax further. She explained her steps around the room, which is always nice. When she did my back, she finished by placing a hot towel on my back and wiping off some of the oil, and then wiped my feet off a little too - very considerate! At the end, she poured me a small cup of tea, which I think is the wellness tea that is advertised? Anyway, it was nice and cold. I was super relaxed by this massage - thank you so much Jeannie, I almost fell asleep :) I want to come back and try that steam thing, and definitely the hot stone massage. I absolutely LOVE this place. Jeannie is the best at what she does, she has an extra sense about what she needs to do to heal someone's body. I've been going to her for the past year and a half and she just instinctively knows how to make my pain go away. I have a rare condition where I was born with an extra rib. I was involved in a serious car accident when I was 18 and the steering wheel hit my chest really hard. The rib got bent and got pushed underneath my collar bone and is now pressing on the muscles and nerves on the right side of my neck. I've been in constant pain for the past 12 years. The pain goes through the right side of my body, from the back of my neck, to my shoulders, all the way down to my lower back and right hip. The pain has been so bad that I could not turn my head towards the left, couldn't lift my right arm past shoulder height, and had huge knots under my right shoulder. The first time I went to see Jeannie I just told her where it hurt and she immediately knew the pain pressure points and what she needed to do to alleviate the pain. I didn't have to explain anything to her at all. I've been getting massages for 10 years and I had always had to explain the pain pressure points to the massage therapists. Not with Jeannie, she just knew where to press to make the pain go away. She also had this awesome steam tent that she uses to help your body detox. I always feel like a new person after I leave a session with Jeannie. I went for the first time having found The Fix on Groupon. I have never had a massage before and Jeannie seemed to have very high reviews. Although The Fix is a little difficult to locate and does not look like much from the outside, it was amazing and I will definitely be returning.
