Glad I discovered The Flour Shop Bakery. I love blueberries and so I bought a loaf of lemon blueberry. It was perfect - you can definitely taste the blueberries and lemon zest and the loaf stayed moist even after refrigeration. It's a perfect afternoon snack or breakfast. I was greeted immediately and was tended to when they saw I was ready to order. They definitely had attentive staff making customer service top notch. The venue was clean and presentable. Love the ambiance - it's perfect for a place to enjoy the dessert options offered. They have cookies, pies, cupcakes and season flavor loaves.

I have been visiting the flour shop since it was in the shops of HV. The red velvet cupcakes have been my guilty pleasure and most desired sweet treat for as long as I can remember. My family always gets special occasion cakes here and they never disappoint. I hate to be nitpicky but as you can see in the picture there are a couple little details missing that bummed me out just a little. The dot for the "i" and the line through the "t" in birthday were forgotten so when you get a closer look it looks a little bit off. Next time I will double check the cake before leaving the bakery but just wanted to express how much I still LOVE this bakery.

I ordered many items to try. Sugar cookies were devoured by my kids. They enjoyed them. The gluten free cupcake texture was great but the chocolate buttercream frosting wasn't my taste. I don't know if it was vegan maybe? or how to describe it but it was kind of flat or lacking in some way. The smores bar and sugar cookie bar weren't for us. I was concerned that the sugar cookie bar was raw but searching reviews I see that the bar is suppose to be gooey/doughy. It was too doughy and raw tasting for me. I only mention this so others won't be surprised. We also got red velvet and carrot cupcake and both were fantastic. If I only got these I would easily rate 5 stars. Frosting was wonderful and not too sweet. The perfect amount, too. Moist and flavorful cake! I highly recommend the regular cupcakes. 3 stars is just an overall for everything we got, not a negative. 5 star cupcakes, though!

The shop it's self is cute the set up really nice. I had the rice crispy treat and a sugar cookie. They were okay I definitely have had better. The rice crispy was lite and fluffy but not really much taste. Please try it though and make your own opinion this is just mine

Great staff, great bakers, great cakes!! The flour shop saved my wife's birthday with this cake that I ordered at 11 and was ready the same day. I showed them a picture of what I wanted and that it was, they made magic in the back and a few hours later I had my delicious black butter cream cake. I used to be an exclusive Whole Foods shopper when it came to cakes but never again. I found the last shop I'll ever go to when seeking out the masters for my insatiable sweet tooth. Huge kudos for a wonderful job, my wife was absolutely thrilled!

Miss this place since we have moved away. However, was able to stop by today and picked up these very cute cookies with "be kind" and "you're awesome." Other delicious treats were rice krispy treats, sugar cookies, peanut butter, oatmeal, and M&M. I follow them on Instgram and they were quick to respond and also really had out to me about the specialty cookies. So nice and professional. So fresh baked and yummy!!!! Took some treats to friends in the area and they loved them too!

I've been to the new location a few times and I have to say that I strongly prefer the old location and how things used to be. That being said, I would say from the reviews and conversations with other Yelpers that there are 2 distinct ratings for this place. First, there is the rating for ordering fresh products- designing a cake, ordering a tray of cupcakes, etc. The consensus on that seems to be 4 to 5 stars and I'm glad to know when the items are baked fresh, they are still as stellar as I remember. Every time I have been in there one of the bakers is at a table consulting on making and delivering a wedding cake or a large order of some sort, so special orders and catering seem to be a distinct part of their current business model. The second rating is for the bakery itself, when you walk in off the street and want instant dessert gratification. That's a 3 star, and not just because I miss how it used to be, that really has been my experience every time I've come to the new location. On a personal level, I'm so disappointed because this was the only bakery I could consistently count on for so long and now they are so different. On the other, I respect a small business has to make changes to survive and I think the changes are a reflection of what the local audience is demanding. The current location is fairly large with a lot of seating. Up front is the display area to the left, a couple of tables in the middle and a sofa/chair layout to the right with a coffee table. In the back are various tables behind a partition and they keep their bussing containers less noticeable in the corner. It's actually a nice layout and the staff is much larger now, accommodating the size. I hardly ever see a familiar face when I stop by. In the previous layout, mini cupcakes could be found on any day of the week and in a variety of flavors. Since they've done away with those (unless you order an entire tray) I have been missing the perfect matching flavors, the moist cake and the great texture I came to count on. The larger cupcakes are dry and often bland. They usually only carry vanilla, chocolate and a couple of other flavors. I've tried multiple, including ones I used to get in the mini size and the filling has been lacking (both in flavor and actual quantity, there is very little) every time and they run from dry to stale. They have expanded their offerings in the bakery so you can also choose from a pie or two and several cream pie slices, cookies, brownies, bars, cake balls and usually another item or two. I've tried a couple of slices of pie and a cookie and they've been average to good. Many may find it satisfactory, but they are also a bit expensive for what you are getting. I am slightly annoyed that prices aren't easily posted like they used to be and on my last two visits, they weren't on the board at all. As a consumer, I prefer knowing ahead of time that the cupcake is now $3.79. I usually inquire about the prices before asking for a specific item, but if there is a line I may just ask for a slice of pie out of consideration and then get a little sticker shock when it's nearly $5. The point is, marking the trays or putting prices on the board would be both lovely and preferable. My rating is both a split of the in store and ordering experience, as well as a recognition that I probably took the adjustment harder than others because I'm so particular about desserts and loved the original format so much. Just because I can't find that old magic I loved, doesn't mean many people won't be plenty happy with it. However, I want a bakery to be consistent quality that matches the price so that I can count on it when I'm struck by a craving or want to eat my feelings in the form of sugar.

The name is misleading - these jars are plenty big for 2 or 3 people, not just 1. At $8 per jar for walk-up pricing, that's pretty good value. Due to the enjoyment of the gift recipient, I decided to come by later that evening to purchase one for myself. As did the daytime employee, the evening employee mentioned the new availability of the cheesecakes. The MAJOR difference is the recommendation of insulation bags. At first, I was confused why they needed the insulation. When I brought it home, I realized it was to keep the jar chilled during transport. Unlike the cakes, the cheesecakes cost $11.50. The $3.50 difference could be to offset the cost of the insulation bags. Also, the cheesecake most likely needs to be kept in the refrigerator. Only original cheesecake and lemon were still available, so I opted for the original. It tasted like a New York Cheesecake. At the bottom of the jar was the crust, next was the cheesecake filling, and finally topped with crumbles. It was an enjoyable cheesecake. I was running errands in the area, so I had arrived a couple minutes before noon. I parked and waited in my car until noon. Unfortunately, when I approached the store, the lights were off. I doubled checked Yelp in case the location recently closed. Fortunately, when I decided to try again several hours later in the day, the store was open.

I'm pretty much out as soon as I'm in (minus the rush). Even if there was a rush, they did everything smoothly and made sure everything was well taken care of before moving on to the next group of people. Not everyone leaves reviews like me, but I assure you every person they served that night when I was there left with happy smiles and tummies full. The shift lead here on Saturday nights did my order. I happened to hear her sigh and say "we need more brownies" and went to the back, meaning that she will in fact make more! Hardworking Gen Z, helloooo?? Also side note: their brownie add in is DELICIOUS. The best brownies I might have ever had. Way better than the bite-sized store-bought ones you find in grocery stores. She also saw that I was looking at the cupcakes and cakes in the front fridges and asked later if I wanted to get something from there (so attentive)! Definitely a leader. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves. The other workers were also great at their jobs! I love seeing the younger generation working in stores that I also once worked at. It's nice to see how common sense and hard work are still a thing in this "iPad generation". See you guys next time!
