I've had an overall disappointing experience with this practice, and unfortunately I can't…read morerecommend them. The midwives themselves have been great. They are kind, knowledgeable, and supportive, but the front office and administrative side has been consistently frustrating. The administrative staff is disorganized and unprofessional. They frequently mix up appointment times, give conflicting information, and make even simple tasks feel unnecessarily difficult. They don't use email or an online portal to send updates, test results, or appointment confirmations, which makes it almost impossible to keep track of anything. Everything has to be done by phone, and the communication is often curt or dismissive. Another major frustration is that any time I need bloodwork, I have to schedule a completely separate appointment with a third-party lab instead of being able to do it in-office. This makes routine prenatal care far more inconvenient than it needs to be. I really wanted to have a good experience here, especially since the clinical care from the midwives has been positive, but the front-office management has caused so much stress and confusion that I'm choosing to switch practices. I hope they improve their administrative processes and communication in the future.

She infrequently answers emails and then complains if you send too many. She took my blood the first visit where she brought in her new puppy. She paid more attention to the puppy than me and then charged me $300 for the visit. Okay. Hopefully she can fix my issue. The blood work came back. The report showed I had pre diabetes, lupus and some other horrible disease. She said I needed her to interpret the findings. Then she gave me 20 vitamins to purchase and take every day! I'm still having sugar issues and my eyes going wonky. OH!!!! And she charged me for a telephone visit to go over these results. Another $300!!! I took the report to my GP. I was so freaked out!!! He did blood work and I was fine. No diabeties no lupus. No other diseases. Fast forward 6 months. And my sugar is still messed up. My eyes are still wonky. Sent her an email asking why my sugar is still messed up. She didn't respond. Sent another email. She responded with an appointment. Sent back that time didn't work. Never heard back. In my opinion and experience, if you have medical issues, this doctor is not for you. If you need help and communication with your doctor. This is not the one. I have never had a hormone doctor charge me for tests and then another charge to review them!!! $600 later and a whole lot of stress because of her blood tests, I still have a sugar issue and my eyes are still going wonky! I'll find a new doctor. I'm not recommending this doctor at all.

Five Star Review for this Office and their Doctors!…read more I typically base my decision of a doctor of the following items: 1) The doctor's knowledge/tenure 2) The cleanliness of the office 3) The belief system related to vaccinations 4) The front office staff's administrative skills 5) The overall 1st experience There you have the purpose for my five star review. Dr. Matthew: I am a mother of FOUR. All four of my children have been seeing Dr. Matthew for over 13+ years. Dr. Matthew was also the Pediatrician when my son was born at Los Robles. Dr. Matthew is a very tenured and wise doctor that has knowledge across MANY aspect of physical and mental health of a child. He also has tremendous experience in caring for children with Special Needs including those with Autism as my son is severally Autistic, legally blind, and has epileptic seizures. Dr. Matthew truly cares, he is a matter of fact gentlemen with professional bed side manners. He is informative, kind, willing to explain, provides options and alternatives. He is not a "go to prescription" doctor. He will not prescribe a medication just because you want one, he will do his job within the highest, most ethical, genuine and informative manner he trusts. Their Clean Office: Is always clean, it may not be the fancy office of Beverly Hills or Westlake but it is well maintained and very clean at all times. Vaccinations: Having a child with Autism and then having two more since my son's diagnosis, Dr. Matthew and Dr. Hochman understand my concern in a very big way. They are NOT anti-vacc'ers, they simply listen and keep their mind open to a parents' concern. Dr. Matthew always brings out a factual study for me to read that was recently featured in the New England Journal of Medicine. I love this! And, I love the fact that he cares deeply for our children. He remembers every patients name, asks about the extracurricular activities, inquires as to the importance of eating helping, playing sports, going to school, and most of all he remembers everything and will ask you five years later, how's your son??? And by then, they are already in college. The Office Staff: If someone says their staff is not nice or friendly or patient or understanding, then we are clearly talking about the wrong office. They accommodate in every way possible. They offer payment plans, they switch appts. at the last minute, they squeeze you in where they can. But most of all, when it's late at night and you have a deep concern due to your child's illness, you can beat the bank, you will get a call back in moments and be taken very serious as to your concern. You are always in good hands with Dr. M and/or Dr. H. Like Father Like Daughter! Fabulous front office team, lots of happy faces, smiles, and warm greetings. AND EXTREMELY ORGANIZED! The Overall Experience: You will never be discouraged. You will always be welcomed. Your child is just as important and Dr. H's children or Dr. M's grandchildren. Family business, family concerns, family values and family operated. I am a single mother of four. Dr. Matthew still sees my son with Autism and he is 28 years old. I hope this YELP review provides comfort in your decision to select any of the three doctors at OPP. Be well, don't medicate.

Barbara told me that since we're new patients, we'd need to commit to switching our clinic to them, otherwise they wouldn't see her. I explained that we can't decide to change clinics before ever having a visit or meeting the doctors, this is not obvious to me. She showed no interest in helping and rushed to hang up. This makes me question their priorities: are they here to help sick children, or just to sign up new patients? A 4-year-old with an ear infection was turned away because I couldn't promise loyalty to a clinic I've never even visited. It also shows what kind of person is answering the phone when you need help most, and that's exactly the moment a practice should be showing compassion, not indifference. This interaction says a lot about the values this practice operates with.
