This is a short 5 minute experience. Definitely see if you can find a deal online - do NOT pay full price! This ride operates similar to the Soarin' Over California ride at Disney California Adventures, and I'd only recommend this experience for first timers to the Bay Area, so you may get a good idea of places to visit. The flow of the film itself was alright, but sadly the screen quality was pixelated. You do have lockers to store your items in the lobby, which is a nice touch. Try to get center seats if possible - I thought the experience was less immersive towards the sides. read more

The kids have been bugging me about doing an escape room. Lucky for them, they found one at the Flyer. We had the pleasure to meet Frank who was our escape room person. Talk about a genuine dude. Frank was extremely helpful and made my family feel welcomed at the Flyer. I can't say enough about this man. Kids loved him for sure. The escape room was fun. This was a first time for me. It's fun to see the kids brain working trying to solve this room. I can't wait to try another escape room. The wife and kids liked the other attractions they did. read more

I been through 4D simulator movies that lasted one to two minutes right before 7D Experience replaced it in Pier 39. Last year, Triotech has created an ultimate 4D simulator movie based on the city we live in. This time is the right time to see for myself what some reviewers say is true. Mini intro: you come across a hopeful young man who has a dream, and you have a young woman doing the same. Love at first sight, both sit together, then there's rain, and the idea came up, engagement! While in Marin Headlands, a young woman is waiting for a young man with an engagement ring. Now comes a 4D ride with a cartoonish seagull waiting. Main part of the story: just when a young man is getting excited to deliver a ring, a seagull snatches it from his grasp. That's when the ride starts to get interesting. You can feel the wind blowing, and it's not as strong as the Rocketboat, which is good for me. There's no splashing of the waters nor the scent of the Redwoods. Just pure simulation with a lovely breeze. You gotta love the awesome musical orchestra! Leaving the 4D theatre happy, I might come back if Triotech made some minor adjustments. Here are some highlights about my experience. Some of the images in the background are blurry; but if you want to find the main focus, perhaps a seagull closest to the screen. The moving scenes get cut off in mixed directions. For instance, the seagull flew off from Pier 39, but end up flying towards the entrance of Pier 39. Lastly, there's some other moving scenes that are missing. I would like to see the gleaming skyscrapers in SoMa if it's up. Overall, no Triotech-nical difficulties. read more

This place was pretty good. The kids really enjoyed it. We never tried an escape room and the owner thoroughly walked us through the whole process and how it works. He gave us tips so the kids could help figure things out. It was really cool. There were even lockers to lock up our belongings! The boys enjoyed the virtual king kong game. We'll definitely be back to try the other virtual rides and the harder escape room. read more

This was honestly one of my favorite single attractions of our vacation. It was a short motion type of ride where you are flying over San Francisco. Beautiful scenery! I loved how the floor drops away, too, in order to feel more authentic and to not hinder the view. It is really inexpensive for being on Pier 39. In fact, we only had to pay an extra $2 for this attraction when buying the ticket at the 7D Experience. It was only $15 for both attractions. I feel it was the best money we spent on attractions (considering the combination of cost and what the experience gave us). They also take pictures of your family/group before the ride in front of green screens. They put these together with cute frames and have them ready for you to purchase afterwards, if you would like. I think all of the pictures and frames were about $40 total. We usually don't do these, but ours were great and I couldn't help it. Everyone there was wonderful. read more

The 7D experience is not for little kids or adults who aren't into horror movies / jump scare. I was hoping for a Disney's Soaring type experience but it's a horror movie themed 3d shooter game. I asked the people working there for recommendation for the least scary ride, their recommendation was really scary and intense even for me. My kid ended up taking off the 3d glasses and I had my eyes closed for half of the ride. It's short but I was relieved when it was over. read more

The bundle package was great Frank is great ! We had such a good time and Frank was like a tour guide for free helping us with everything. We did it all, first the escape room (escape from the rock awesome ) the flyer , King Kong virtual and 7-d shooter game and it was about $50 each ! I couldn't have had a better time ! I honestly don't know how I feel about this. I love the story line of The Flyer attraction but the $25 price tag for admission is a bit expensive. I felt the preview show was as long as the actual simulation ride. If the ride was a few minutes longer, the price would be worth the value. Even though the Flyer is very similar to the Soaring Over California attraction in Disneyland, The Flyer lacks some of the distinctive sensory details of its Disneyland counterpart. The attraction is located on the second floor of Pier 39, in an area where there is not too much foot traffic. The place could benefit from more foot traffic like the ground floor area, but unfortunately I don't think the attraction is small enough for a ground floor venue. If you got $25 to blow on virtual games, I recommend skipping The Flyer and using your money on the 7d attraction rides. read more

Unfortunately some of these reviews are out dated I will tell you why. This attraction was purchased by another company, which came in and made a lot of improvements. First of all they removed the preshow, second they added an escape room attraction, and also 2 virtual reality attractions. As far as the flyer show, they have the original show of San Francisco, plus a new show, flying over America, which is my favorite. When I see reviews, that were made before the resale of this attraction, I always point out that some of the complaints, were addressed, and this is a nice attraction to visit now. read more

The screen is so blurry and pixelated, the camera continues to swerve around, and the awful "hippy" flowers poster was just ridiculous. I love the Soarin' ride at Epcot. This attraction did not live up to expectations. First, you get to take a photo that will get edited into SF backdrops... for an additional $36 at the end of your experience. You then spend several minutes standing and watching a cutesy "intro" movie before going into the ride itself. Once you're strapped into your seat with goggles on, the ride seems promising. The suspended seats and air effects feel really cool. Unfortunately, the image quality is awful-- very pixelated and fuzzy, and the curved screen makes the picture warped (especially bad then you fly over towers and tall buildings). The Flyer is cool for getting a heavily animated glimpse of major SF landmarks in a short time, but I was not impressed by the execution. I also rarely get motion sick on thrill rides and felt awful after this one. read more

Specifically travelled from Santa Cruz to check this ride out after years of anticipation and it was worth the wait. The three-dimensional pre-show was unexpected and unlike any other projection show I've seen, and it was obvious that the filming was done with this depth in mind. The story was cute and added a lot to what otherwise would've been a simple film showcasing SF landmarks. The wind effects were a nice plus and the dive thru and off the Golden Gate Bridge were the highlights for me. While some of the content appeared blurry, the overall experience was great and am looking forward to bringing more friends to see it. Well done, Triotech! read more

My wife and myself were very excited about having a fun experience in one our favorite California Cities. While walking and enjoying ourselves at pier 39 we saw this attraction and decided to go inside after being mislead and oversold by the booth promoting it at the pier. Once we went upstairs and purchased our tickets we noticed it was only 3 other people waiting in line which put a red light on us because this is high season and the city is very busy! (Obviously people read reviews about this and we didnt!) To start with, this attraction is overpriced because they will tell you it would be around 20 minutes flight over San Francisco. Well...dont fall for this since the virtual flight is no longer than 5 minutes at the most! The ticket per person is $25 so it was for both of us $50 for 5 minutes attraction !!! This attraction is extremely overpriced . And... get ready because as you walk in, they ask you to pose for a picture and they sell it to you as you exit the ride for almost $40 This is a virtual attraction so the image should be perfect and believable... well it's not, it is really poor definition and the pixels made it blurry, very low quality image Summarizing : Dont waste your time and money This is nothing like they promote it Waste of our time and money . Fun ride to try on Pier 39. It reminds me of the ride at California Adventure called Soaring California/Soaring the World. They give you a locker to place your belongings that you don't want to bring in with you. In the first part of the experience you are brought to a room/mini theatre to watch a short film that gives you a background story of what is happening on the ride. After the film you are given 3D glasses and are seated/buckled-in to your seat. The ride takes you on a flight through many of the popular landmarks in SF. I wish they incorporated fragrance and mist to make the ride a bit more interesting. Overall, I would suggest heckling it out at least once. read more

The ride also had technical issues and half of the participants were stuck because they couldn't get the seatbelts off. When I complained they were very rude and apathetic about the situation. I went with some friends to P39 over the weekend and we tried the new Flyer ride. We loved it! The pre-show was nice, although maybe a bit long, but set a good story line for the ride. The ride is probably 5 or 6 minutes long and it's got lots of thrills! You definitely get a sense of flying and the visuals were cool and had us all laughing and screaming.
