I had a yelp deal from The Foot Spa (Aloha/Beaverton, OR) that I prepaid for so when I went to check out after my massage appt, I was told that I couldn't use it. Unfortunately, the owner wasn't there and I had a Person who spoke very little English. Let me back up, I've never had a Chinese massage before and I've tried Thai, Swedish, deep tissue...I'm use to massage but Chinese massage was one of the best deep tissues that I've had! Minus the number of times I was not warned about the "slapping"...let's hope it was due to a language barrier. I would've preferred communication along the way or even being asked to fill out any kind of liability forms but rather was rushed into the empty space on a Sunday afternoon. I love supporting local and new business and I'm an adventurous soul. So I was completely surprised how great the massage part was and was thinking of all the people I could recommend this place too. Unfortunately, my de-stressing afternoon was ruined when the 2 employees there had no idea how to use a coupon that I bought directly from their business page on Yelp. They called the owner who then talked with me in English. The energy, "Annie" wouldn't even give me the time of day. She decided to say "I will call the police if you don't pay full price. You should not use yelp coupon but next time pay directly to use discount". I called her bluff and agreed she should call the police and I will wait for them! I was totalky agreeing to pay the rest of the bill minus the $70 prepayment. End result: a text with her apology and that next time i should get discount if i don't go thru yelp directly. Really? I love yelp!! Not happening! :) PS - forgot to mention that the employee kept muttering under her breath that I should pay tip and when I graciously did, she said "that's not enough"...For what service may I ask you?!? read more

The room where I was taken to was a bit stuffy, and I didn't appreciate being demanded tip when the foot soak initially was scorching hot, and after I did give tip, she didn't say much and only gave me a look of disappointment I was given a gift certificate to this location but the worker didn't seem to have the most friendliest customer service and I felt a bit intimidated while walking in. There wasn't much customer interaction during my 1-hr foot session, but I was surprised that she did give some hand, shoulder, and arm massages prior to doing my feet (which was a plus). They did work on different techniques and zones and the hote stone was good. 1 star less because they haggled a little bit for the tip, being my first time I was generous enough with the tip but that didn't seem to make them happy. As other's have mentioned I had a little trouble communicating with the employees, I had to repeat what I wanted a couple of times to make sure they were clear that I only wanted a foot massage. Other than that I had a good experience at a great price. I had an hour long foot massage as my feet had been aching a lot lately and it was exactly what I needed. I got a brief scalp, shoulder and hand massage while my feet were soaking in hot water. After cleaning and drying my feet they gave my feet and calves an excellent deep tissue massage. They especially dug into the soles of my feet which is how I like my foot massages. It might have been too intense for some people but was perfect for me. Given the very reasonable price I tipped well for the hard work they put into taking care of my sore feet. read more

Three of us left the place very satisfied. Winter was my masseuse. She was really good. Not a typical sloppy or just robbing kind of masseuse. We highly recommend this place. I've been to a lot of massage places and this one is always my favorite. They always do such a good job. For those complaining that they don't converse with you much during your massage, well you're an idiot because most people get a massage to relax not to get talked to plus they don't speak very good English which isn't an insult to them it's just so maybe people understand why they don't talk to you much. I try to go here 1 or two times a month. It's not top quality like if you were to go to an actual LMT, but if you're just looking to get a few kinks rubbed out after a long work shift, this is a great place to go!! I always get the 60 minute "foot rub" which is actually an all over massage with the first 20 minutes having you laying in a soft reclining chair with your feet soaking in hot water. They also have stamp cards so if you fill your card with 10 visits, you get a free one! BONUS!! They also wear masks and ask you to have one on as well, which is reassuring.
