You'll get so much cardio out of just a 45 min workout. If you want to get into the best shape of your life, just try it and you'll be hooked. Squash zone is the only club I know that has an official after school squash program in this area. It picks up students from school, provides squash lessons and tutoring to kids from the local school districts. During the school year, you'll see young kids playing squash or doing homework in a dedicated classroom. The club founders and member dues cover all the fees so that kids get to play and learn free of charge. There just aren't many gyms around that does this! I always come out feeling good after a long workout. But it really feels even better knowing that my bit of monthly due goes towards giving kids opportunities that they wouldn't otherwise have. All the coaches and staff there are world class - literally, they are current and ex world ranked players. Richard Elliot, one of the founders of the club, has been a legendary player and coach in the Bay Area for a couple of decades. I have two sons who play at squash zone a few times a week. They love it there. All the coaches have been awesome teachers of the sport, but also great role models in so many other ways. We are so blessed to have this club around. Last and not least - squash zone is clean and well maintained. It has a locker room, shower, and towels. It has a big stretching area with free weights, TRX, and a few cardio machines (peloton is included and it is sweeet). It has a lounge area with a big TV. Sometimes a bunch of us would gather to watch big basketball or soccer games. It's right off of 101 and it has its own parking lot. They also have great events throughout the year - tournaments, exhibition matches, clinics. I can't say enough good things about it. I highly recommend that you give it a try!

Thanks Bay Club for being a big part of our lives and making it fun to come work out! I just wanted to give you guys a big compliment. I've been a member for over 20 years and think I am using the club more now than I ever have. I am really happy with the changes you've made over the past 5-10 years, and I feel like you are consistently getting all the little things right that add up to big things for me and keeping my membership. The locker rooms are always clean and well taken care of, the pools and hot tubs are pristine, the employees appear to be genuinely happy and engaged, and are super friendly, and the customer service is great when I've needed it. My daughter and I truly enjoy coming here just about every morning, and I think the operations of the club are a big reason why. Kudos! Also side note, I love the World Cup decorations and little fun festive things you've done around it (like the fish bowls for voting for the team you think will win). However I thought their practices around the fee structure were extremely shady. First of all, for a community center you charge a crazy amount. It's meant to be accessible and not an elite club which is what this has turned into. A name change should be well in order if they're not serving the community they belong to. Please note they are a non profit organization. Secondly they will charge you an arm and a leg for classes and membership, they will update your pricing and not give you notice. I think the fact that they don't list their prices on their website are true testament to my statement. I dropped my membership as it stopped being worth the $500 I was paying for me and the kids per month (only one of my kids was doing swim lessons) their swim classes helped for a little and then the teachers were replaced with new ones who didn't care much about the students. I ended up quitting and unless their pricing is more transparent and less elitist I'd rather drive a little bit longer.

Did not have a great experience here. I'd give it maybe 3 stars until I went to cancel my…read moremembership. First, the place smells like a bad combo of feet and climbing chalk. All climbing gyms have something of a funk, but this place is the worst. I joined to take the yoga classes mostly, but that's a hard pass. Classes start on time, but the gym allows members to show up late. When they do, they move the curtain, light up the whole room, and the noise of 100 climbers floods the room. Right in the time when you're settling in and trying to focus. Then the weight room is above the yoga room, so you get to hear weights slamming down during class, which is also disruptive. I found the classes super uneven, some being great (Bronwyn) and others being a weird combo of loud music over soft voices so you can't hear the instructor, or instructors borderline shouting at folks to expel breath as loud as possible. Not what I'm looking for. So, no problem, it's not for me. It's close to home, price is reasonable, and they have good climbing facilities. Boulder area isn't the best, but the rest of it is quite good with interesting routes changed often...enough. When I went to cancel, I was hit with a "policy" that you have to cancel on or before the 25th of a month or they will charge you for another month. I reached out on the 26th, 5 days before the next charge cycle. Seemed like plenty. Complained, go zero response. So basically I consider they robbed me of $110, because of course the cancellation policy is not visible..until you go to cancel. Hope it was worth the money, Movement. Cannot recommend.

Awesome to have a shooting facility with advanced interactive technology on the peninsula. A bonus is the dribbling and passing stations that are onsite as well. I brought my sons in for a trial session. They've been open for 3 weeks. Everything looks new and good condition, so hopefully regular cleaning and maintenance will keep it that way. The space itself isn't too big. So it can feel cramped especially in the walkway behind the ball handling stations (and especially when more people are in the facility). There are currently 5 shooting courts set up, 4 of which are limited in space allowing for shots from the middle and high wings. And there are 5 ball handling stations. There is one section in the front which is currently just open space and storage though there is a hoop and shooting machine to set up another shooting stations. After speaking to the owner, this area is going to be training area where they'll lay down turf and set up various machines. This will be a nice added touch to help the overall hooper. One downfall is we noticed a dead spot in the flooring of ball handling court #2. Another thing that's legit they have classes set up. Don't know how good the classes are but having them is a step in the right direction. With more patrons joining, hopefully availability and access doesn't get flooded. Just have to find that right balance but only time will tell. For now, let's give it the benefit of the doubt. Staff brings good vibes and energy. They are present observing, assisting, guiding and even cheering on players. Congrats on your opening.

While we were there there were other kids by themselves dedicated to work on their skills. I think my 9 and 11 year old are still a bit too young to handle the full load of the hour long workout. But if they ever showed the desire to get better and willingness to bust their butt, no question I would subscribe to Shoot360. It demonstrates how technology can be implemented today to get a lot repetitions in an efficient amount of time and space.

Our family of four joined Ladera Oaks 11 years ago. Our son and daughter started with swim lessons…read moreat a very early age and each rolled smoothly into the PSA (Peninsula Swim Association) spring and summer swim program which includes relaxed swim meets between other swim clubs in the area plus a relay meet and championship meet in late July. My son progressed further into the USA swim program which includes year round swim practices and more competitive meets around the Bay Area. This has enabled him to quickly integrate and do well on his high school swim team. He has learned valuable life lessons from swimming and has built great relationships with his coaches as well as friendships across several school districts. My wife joined the Masters swim program shortly after we became members. It has become a long lasting exercise routine with friendships which will last forever. We often bring visiting summer guests to the club to escape the heat and relax in front of the pool. The two pools at Ladera provide a clear advantage over other clubs since the lower pool is all about recreation and fun while the upper pool can be dedicated to more serious swimmers except on the occasional weekend time slots when they open the 3 meter diving board for fun and games off of the high dive. We frequently take advantage of the cafe or bring lunch in a cooler or have dinner around the BBQ. I routinely use the exercise room while my children are at swim practice or at a swim team social event. It has a sufficient collection of weight lifting and cardio equipment. We have not taken advantage of the tennis side of the club. I have many memories playing with my kids in the lower pool as they became more proficient and confident swimmers and divers. Now the joy is watching them win an event or relay in a swim meet. I am sure that these memories will last a lifetime in each of us.

We've been members at Ladera for a little over 2 years. The kids swim program is top-notch, all the…read moreway from the swim school through the PSA and USA swim team programs. We've also had our kids in the tennis program and they've done well. For us older folks (parents), we've been part of everything from the Masters swim program to twilight tennis and fitness classes. The pool, tennis, and fitness facilities are very good, though the locker rooms are small and very tired. This is getting fixed right now with a major renovation focused on the main building and locker rooms, plus an expansion of the fitness center. We were introduced to the club by neighbors across the street, who had joined when their kids were young (they are now 40+) and we can see why they have stayed members all these years. This club is more of a community and family spot than most - which is obvious especially in the summer with all the families poolside during the day. If you've got young kids, and like being involved with them, this is a great spot to get them into swimming and tennis. If you want a place where you drop your kids off at the daycare and work out, it's not for you. Lastly, here's a quick rundown of the facilities: - 25yd waveless deep lap pool (for adults) - 25yd shallower pool (for kids) with diving L and alcoves for toddlers that are 1' deep - 6 lit tennis courts with ball machines, pro shop, and tennis lounge - Fitness center with 8-10 cardio machines, free weights, and resistance equipment - Fitness classes and personal trainers available
