    Keltic beer flight

From the US- we were staying nearby for a night before a flight and were looking for somewhere to watch the Dortmund game. This was perfect! Beer was great there were multiple TVs to choose from. It was fun to be around the other fans- lots of people very into the game. This specific night (Wednesday, 9pm-ish) wasn't too crowded and we were able to find a place to sit easily. I had the Keltic flight of beers. It was fun to try them all but the pale ale was my favorite.

We stopped into this restaurant because it was very near our hotel and open late. The staff spoke enough English to get by just fine. They serve traditional German food like schnitzel and also things like hamburgers. On a Thursday night, the place was about 1/3 full. Just keep in mind that this place works like most restaurants in Germany: to get water you'll need to buy a bottle of it, and also the service person won't come back over unless/until you flag them down. Wish there was a three and a half stars. It wasn't bad at all - it just wasn't great or noteworthy.

Waited well over an hour for mediocre food with barely an apology and no explanation.

Schwarzer Walfisch - Part of French breakfast (French toast, croissant)

I don't know what breakfast/brunch spots are like in Germany as this was my only experience, but…read morethis was lackluster. I ordered the French breakfast. In retrospect it was the wrong choice. It comes with two slices of French toast (not very sweet, definitely not the same as US style French toast), a croissant, a crepe with chopped fruit inside, and some cheese with assorted jams. I was honestly kind of confused which jams etc went with which option, and sadly none of it tasted good. I actually traded 1 piece of French toast with my friend who ordered the healthy breakfast option for a bit of protein. The chai latte was mostly milk, very sweet with hardly any spice. My other friend ordered the omelette and said it was much better. It's a cute spot. No wifi. I guess this spot is trying to be a trendy brunch spot, but as someone from the US it didn't come close to the quality we have there. I wouldn't go again, but if I did I would try to order something more authentically German.

The fresh pressed orange juice is just the start, followed by a barista who knows how to make good coffee, a fresh basket of bread & the main meal. Everything we ate was delicious. The service is quick and friendly as well. Next time I'm in town, I'm coming here.

Observations: We…read moresaw bunch of school kids with teachers/adults come on Sunday. But they were quite and well behaved. No one very excited about it like what we saw at LA or London where they are more interactive games. This place feels like and an outdated science lab with a smell of decay. What is great: Earth crust and wall of difference crystals are well described and with many information not seen elsewhere, and with extra description, you can see what stone/crystals are form at each layer. What cause fossils form in 3D vs the more bend 2D version. We didn't even learn this at Tar pit museum where tons of fossils are still being dig today. Excellent! Museum platform style chairs like art museum. Since AC is almost not existed there, those chairs let's you sit down and read each description leisurely. Issues: We went to LA and London's natural history museum, this is not quite as big and as imaginative. First many exhibits came from NY, second the way Frankfurt present is very textbook and boring glass boxes, while in LA, you see each animals in their fake habitat. London's displays is a more artistic approach. Museum only label 50% of its exhibits with English. Description of exhibits are not very well thought out. Dinosaurs are not to scale but they won't tell you what the scale so you think why 50ton animal is same as the 5ton one. For exhibits with English, description is much less. Theme of each room and wall has not much thoughts puts to it. Price: 10€ for adults and 5€ for kids.
