Really friendly and pleasant service. Such a great atmosphere and an absolutely phenomenal menu. I had the fish and chips and, personally, I found them one of the best I've had in mainland Europe. From the US- we were staying nearby for a night before a flight and were looking for somewhere to watch the Dortmund game. This was perfect! Beer was great there were multiple TVs to choose from. It was fun to be around the other fans- lots of people very into the game. This specific night (Wednesday, 9pm-ish) wasn't too crowded and we were able to find a place to sit easily. I had the Keltic flight of beers. It was fun to try them all but the pale ale was my favorite. read more

An American Expat in search of the best place in Frankfurt to watch American Football on Sundays, my journey took me to The Fox and Hound, a short 20 min walk from my Bockenheim apartment. When I entered the pub, it was barren, deserted and the vibe felt like a ghost town. The TVs in the pub are very small and they only played American football on one TV. I was disappointed with the atmosphere (where do american expats go for football??) and the food prices were expensive relative to their quality. I got a chicken sandwich (6 euro) and 8 onion rings (7.5 euros). Neither was very tasty. The chicken sandwich was especially bad as it was dry pieces of chicken in-between cheap wonder bread. I will not be back and hope to find my goto bar for American football soon! read more

We stopped into this restaurant because it was very near our hotel and open late. The staff spoke enough English to get by just fine. They serve traditional German food like schnitzel and also things like hamburgers. On a Thursday night, the place was about 1/3 full. Just keep in mind that this place works like most restaurants in Germany: to get water you'll need to buy a bottle of it, and also the service person won't come back over unless/until you flag them down. Wish there was a three and a half stars. It wasn't bad at all - it just wasn't great or noteworthy. read more

In 5 days of drinking around Frankfurt the Black Fox Bitter was by far the best beverage I had. That is not to diss the other drinks, it is just really really tasty. I said so many complimentary things about it I actually received a complimentary pint of the stuff! The Amber Ale they serve was quite good too. This was my second visit to the pub, almost exactly 10 years after my first. It still looked quite familiar. I could have done with eating here but didn't want to because a local friend had a recent horror story about a meal gone wrong here. They do beer better than food I guess. read more

Was here on a Thursday evening with some new friends to play some board games for the first time after a recommendation from someone else that had been here previously for board games as well. This was the first time for any of us at this bar and I made a reservation for 10 people mentioning that we were planning to play board games and would like some extra place. I showed up and there were only 4 small tables with 8 seats reserved for us. Fortunately we had some cancellations and only 5 of us were going to be there so I immediately gave one of the tables up and it was taken by another group (so no lost revenue there). As the first one there and the organiser, they asked me how we would be paying and I informed them that we would be paying separately.  Our waitress, Ursa, was very snobbish to us the whole night, barely giving people a minute to look at the menu to decide what to drink once they arrived (even though we were sharing a single menu between all of us). The food selection was good and the kitchen agreed to make us simple main dishes (potato skins) even after it was 10pm and normally finger food only. The food was decent quality as well and served in a timely manner.  However the reason for the one star rating even though the food was good was because of the service. After treating us like second class citizens the entire night, when it came time for the cheque, we were presented with a single bill even though we had earlier clarified that we would be paying separately. On top of this, the waitress decided to add 2 extra beers to our tab. It wasn't hard for us to keep track since only 3 of us were drinking beer (the other 2 members of our party ordered an ice tea and 2 hot teas). Of us 3 drinkers, one sipped on a single beer (monthly special) the entire time, I had a monthly special for my first beer and for my second drink the waitress SPILLED THE BEER ON THE GAME!! So I know I remember it being the second! My third was the same as the second and this time the waitress came around the table so as to not risk spilling again. The third drinker had a Murphys and then 3 of the monthly specials. The total being 5 of the monthly specials and not 7 like they tried to charge us!! We politely pointed out the error on the bill to Ursa and she refused to believe us, rudely insisting that we had been the only group who drank the monthly special and so it must have been us who ordered the extra beers (yes just because she can't add, we must have had it). She eventually brought her supervisor who, after hearing me clearly explain how I remembered each beer I ordered, agreed to take off the extra beers that they falsely put on our tab, acting as though he was doing us a favour. He then proceeded to insist that we were required to pay a 7% tip in return for his generosity. He also insisted that since we made a larger reservation we were required to pay the tip as it was on their website and we should have seen it (I made the reservation by phone and it was not mentioned to me and was not written on the menu either). We did later look up the website and it states that the 7% should be added for groups of 12 or more (so it did not apply to our group). The website also states that management has the right to add 10€ for no shows in a party, but given that they did not provide us with the space for 10 people to begin with and that they seated 2 people at the table we gave up immediately upon arrival, I feel justified in saying that this would not be fair. If this tip were to be charged it should have been discussed when I made the reservation over the phone (I did not read the website beforehand) and not as a fake charge for 2 beers. While arguing about the required tip the waitress and her supervisor both insisted that they remembered us from the last time we were there and how we had booked a large table but had ended up not filling it and so they were annoyed, however this was the first time I was meeting any of these people and my absolute first (and last) time at the restaurant, so how could they remember me specifically? Clearly just running a scam!! Possibly because we were English speakers and they think we won't fight for our rights! read more

YES, a real pub with the true English touch, very nice! Highly recommendable also to watch footie, Rugby and whatnot. Children are welcome, too and that white doggie, which is always around, is rather cute. Everyone's just a big family at Fox & Hound :-) read more

This place is relaxed, friendly and comfortable. Seems like an after-work place. The service was prompt. I had the curry combo, and it was much better than you'd expect at a pub. I'd have it again. Prices are very reasonable. Good selection of beers. read more

Surprised none of the expats rated this place yet in English. I used to go here with all my British friends and it was a local hangout for the expat crowd. Always a good place to grab a beer, watch a soccer match or just basically kick back and grab some pub food. I always found service to be pretty good and if your expectations aren't gourmet, the food was great. Easy to find location and you can sit outdoors in the summer. I'd recommend it as a place to hit with a couple friends, throw back some beers and basically have a good time in a pub atmosphere. read more

Supercool interior, at least, but did not stay to try the food or drinks since the football games they advertised on their website as showing were NOT even a thought of being showed. When I asked the bartender about three Man U v. Liverpool game, his response, "I wish." This is a lesson for all the "Irish" "sports bars" promising the English Premier League in Franfurt: they may be full of it. Get there in advance if you have never been there before, or have a Plan B. O'Reillys right across from the Central Station is the only place I have discovered so far to actually pay the hard cash for a cable prescription to ensure they get the games we need to see. read more

Loved this place! Would highly recommend! The staff spoke good english and I found the whole experience quite lovely!
