This is a great store to visit and they always have items on sale for a good price. Or if you need to pick up dinner you can get that already prepared and it's very good. The service is always stellar at these locations. The person at the fish counter really helped me figure out what type of salmon to buy today as well as some shrimp that was local. Dear Fresh Market Cornelius: First I again fought your 1990s online ordering system on my phone and computer for hours (no, I do not want my order delivered 100 miles away in Greensboro). As a (previously) loyal customer, I finally got the order through using the one device you apparently do optimize for (tablets), for a fresh turkey and all the fixings for 8 people for Thanksgiving. $250+ in total. But come the big day, you added a new trick this year: you left out the (only) appetizer and all the gravy. For an 18 lb turkey. Yes, charged me for it, of course. Just left it out. After eating in this shopping center, stopped in at the Fresh Market to grab a couple of items. Additionally, wanted to look for a particular type of dairy free ice cream that I've only been able to find at the Fresh Market. Unfortunately, this location did not have it in stock. It is located in a shopping center with a variety of stores, restaurants, etc. The store was very clean and appeared to be maintained, just as most other Fresh Market locations. Since this is the closest one in my area, I would likely visit more often. However this was my first visit to this location. The staff was friendly and accommodating upon arrival and check-out. Would definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the area and need to grab a few items...or a lot. LOL! read more

I love TFM. Used to visit frequently when there was one near my old place. It's on the pricey side but they usually carry specialty items and ingredients that you may not be able to find elsewhere. I was searching for Califa Farms barista oat milk and couldn't find it at HT, Publix, Target or WF.. guess who had it.. Fresh Market!! They also had Jeni's ice cream on sale.. if you like Jeni's it's usually a better deal here or at HT than at their brick and mortar. I usually grab produce while I'm here but my goal today was to get in and out. Great service at this location and good selection too. read more

Shoppers beware! The Fresh Market offers specials throughout the week. On Thursday, it's the rotisserie chicken at my nearest store. Although the chicken is offered at a reduced price, they are bagged in plastic and are more like a Cornish hen. The chickens are so puny compared to their previous size. I'm going to Costco for this item and bypassing The Fresh Market, where I would normally pick up additional items while shopping. Come on Fresh Market, you can do better. Fresh Market is the place for amazing food. The produce and fresh foods are really remarkable. The deli is wonderful with many great items to go. The star of the show really is the meat counter. I wish other stores would follow suit here but I'm really happy this is here. The meat is incredible and the selection is substantial. No better meat counter in the area. Somewhere between Harris Teeter (Kroger) and Whole Foods. With an emphasis on Fresh, non-GMO and Gluten Free, it's a nice place to shop. Not as big as a conventional Grocery, every item displayed has been chosen with care. My wife is in here at least once a week because she loves the Fresh Ground Amaretto Coffee. Bakery, Cheese Dept and Deli are also great. Today we picked up more coffee and Filet Mignon Shisk Kabob's to put on the grill which is Memorial Day. Always friendly staff and while small, still a great selection of premium items. read more

I love The Fresh Market. They have the best seasonal items for your home or if you need a last minute gift. The selection of baked goods, meats, wine, sushi and snacks make my mouth water every time. I start to crave it all and suddenly I am hungry! The Fresh Market is not a store you do your everyday grocery shopping. It's pricier than others but the quality is outstanding for holidays and special occasions. There are two items I buy every Thanksgiving and Christmas. 1. The cranberry relish has the right amount of orange zest and chopped pecans for crunch. I recommend pre-ordering it to make sure you don't arrive to find they are out. They have started to make a lot more of it but it's often frozen and not ready for them to scoop until they thaw it out in the sink. Then you're in real trouble because while you wait, you shop and find more temptations in the store. 2. The panettone is the freshest and best my family has ever had from any other store. It's a breakfast tradition we have the panettone dipped in egg and cooked same as French toast. Then it's served with syrup and powdered sugar. This store is an easy stop off of highway 77. Verrrry interesting place! I kept hearing about it non-stop and finally made it by to see what all the talk was about. It's so hard to describe but it's a unique food shopping experience. Pricey: yes. But not to fear, there is a certain hustle and bustle about the place augmented by the fact that they are well staffed. Half of the store is a full service deli and sweets bakery where things are cut, prepared or practically made to order. They have a delicious looking array of meats to choose from and plenty of pre-made foods to build a plate out of. There are barrels full of coffee beans for the working man or woman to pan through and pick out their faves. Nearby there is a candy section for the kids to pick out weigh their addiction too! The store has a sort of warm, home-life feel. They play some exquisite classical tunes on the speaker much louder than what you hear elsewhere which really helps set the mood. Around the walls atop the aisles you'll find accenting wall sconces and interior decor that's classy bordering on pretentious. They have build-your-own 6-pack and a great wine selection. This is a pretty nice grocery store with an especially good produce section and bakery. Their prepared foods section is attached to several other service areas such as a sandwich bar. The wait can be long there as a falling customer count results in short staffing. Short staffing results in line waits which contributes to lost customers, I'm afraid this store is in the early stages of a death spiral which is too bad as it has some nice departments. read more

I have always been a Harry Teets shopper and I do still love Trader Joes (Parking is always hard ) but I really have found that Fresh Market has soooooo many great Little Big Meals and great Meat and Seafood specials. I am visiting the area for the holidays, and my mom and I stopped here the other day to pick up a few things. This market is probably the closest thing to a Whole Foods type market in the area. (Whole Foods itself is 55 miles away or so... in Winston-Salem). It's not a completely organic and/or health conscious grocer but it does fill some of the void that is missing at the local mainstream markets. For example, you can find Fage yogurt, Rachels yogurt/cottage cheese, Pacific brand stocks and soups, Amy's Organics, Vosges chocolates, fresh ground nut butters, European butter, Honest Tea, upscale fresh flowers and similar items. They also have a nice looking butcher and bakery. Mixed in, however, are several mainstream brands like Skippy, Bisquick etc... so there is something for everyone. Though perhaps not everything for everyone. Would I shop here if I lived in the area? Yes, probably. But I feel like I would still have to supplement a few things with a trip to Whole Foods occasionally... if I wanted to cover all my bases. Still, I was glad to have a more interesting/healthier option nearby. read more

So today I went there and there were three checkers so that was great. But their system wasn't working. So everyone was standing in line for long periods of time. All I needed was to buy a sparkling water for $.79 after a really long hard work out I was dying of thirst. But because their system would not take my card both physically and manually I had to walk out of there with no drink. So I spent 15 minutes in a store for a $.79 drink that I really needed to walk out with nothing but waste of time. That is the kind of customer service they are promoting right now. I don't spend much time reviewing any type of chain as you should be able to get a similar experience no matter which location you go to. Its higher quality food than your average grocery store, but I just don't get the niche. Its as expensive as an Earth Fare or Whole Foods without the organics. They really just don't have that large of a selection in general compared to the other 2. The only reason I ever go is if there is some type of sale, I want a sandwich or sushi for lunch, or I just need a nice cut of meat or seafood. Its just not my kinda place, but you can still get lunch quicker and cheaper than pretty much any restaurant. read more

I've been in the area for 3 months and I just now realized there is a fresh market supermarket here. With the traffic being horrible to get in and out of Whole foods I'm glad the Fresh Market is closer to me and will not have to endure the hassle of going to whole foods. The way this store is set up place the products in good lighting unlike most grocery stores. This Plaza also has plenty of parking and it's easy to access it form north bound or south bound I-77. The Fresh Market is an upscale and easily accessible store. Was at the bakery and inquired about the challah bread if they were made fresh. The staff informed me of all the products baked. They have a good selection of scones, breads, croissants to name a few. I have a sweet tooth and will go for the bakery items and the ice cream section that is where you will see me. What I like is their large selection of wines and someone on staff to provide information. Once you walk in their is an area to sample coffee. Usually two types to select from. Go on Tuesdays for their buy one get one specials. They also have their weekly/weekend specials too. Also like their Fresh Market products too for they go on sale a lot. read more

I hadn't been to a Fresh Market since I moved from Pawleys Island SC, and I was excited to check it out as we were leaving our hotel. I was hoping to find a variety of vegan items and maybe even something for breakfast. They offered fresh brewed coffee with almond milk, that was nice, the coffee selection was good. But since it was early (8am) they didn't have much bakery items available, including bagels. I was happy to see they offered 1 type of vegan cream cheese, but again did not have bagels, not even individually sold, which was disappointing. And the items sold by the pound, were mostly side items and not labeled vegetarian or vegan. Overall I was surprised to find Fresh Market was not as vegan friendly as Earth Fare or Whole Foods. Especially with the grab and go items. I would not recommend Fresh Market over Earth Fare or Whole Foods. read more

Ordered Fresh Market $79 precooked Holiday Meal and picked it up the day before Thanksgiving, which is when we were celebrating. When I opened the precooked turkey it was wet, covered in ice crystals, and FROZEN SOLID. Since it was wet the skin was peeling off. WTH. I couldnt bake it as couldnt get giblets out. Ran to Food Lion to get a fresh turkey which is in oven now. Called Fresh Market to complain but no answer. Thankfully the sides were fine but $79 is a lot to pay for sides and have to buy another turkey. The whole point of precooked was so I didnt have to after being out of town. Put their frozen turkey back in freezer for Xmas but unsure of quality since it was wet with peeling skin. Ps. Ate our sides and all fine but dressing not as good as previous years. It was mealy. Basically paid $79 for mashed potatoes gravy rolls and cranberries. Sad. read more

When ordering steaks from the meat counter last week, I observed the employee handling the steaks with his bare hands while also touching several surfaces in and out of the cooler area. When I mentioned this to the manager, his response was "gloves are not required". I see. Not required so let's not identify and mitigate risk areas for contamination "because it's not required". I of course did not take the meat. I have spent thousands of dollars in meat and other groceries from Fresh Market, but will give all my business to Publix now who has much more stringent hygiene standards even before the COVID virus outbreak. read more

Better and a bit pricier than your typical grocery store. Not always more expensive however. Case in point. I won't make a burger or other ground beef dish with anything other than FMs 80/20 Ground Chuck. It's much more flavorful than the same grind at Harris Teeter and usually it's a tad bit cheaper per pound. Similarly, pay attention to the specials. Last weekend brought wild-caught 16-20 North Carolina shrimp for $9.99/lb. Went through 4 pounds Friday-Sunday and they were absolutely great. Firm, perfect texture with great flavor. And hey... FRESH not frozen and then thawed for display. read more
