If you're a fan of the holidays or literally ANY other occasion like I am (Its September 3rd and I'm already thinking of this year's Christmas tree theme), then you NEED this store in your life. Hear me out... Aesthetically The Fresh Market blows any other grocery store out of the water...sorry Publix...still love you, though. Each department is well appointed and adequately spaced to give the shopper a veritable "feast for the eyes" experience. The Deli and Meat/Seafood counters are waiting to lure you in as you browse the eye-catching offerings of the day. Whether it's a meal for two or a party for a small village, they've got you covered. My absolute favorite...my precious...my weakness...is the bakery. I could write a book or work as a tour guide by now. The dessert case alone is a visual masterpiece, full of mouthwatering cakes, tarts, pies, and that's just the beginning. A hearty variety of fresh breads, pastries, and other dessert options (yessss, gluten free included) will tempt even the most unwavering of Keto clientele. They run daily specials and if you sign up you get an email showing what they are. We went in today for snow crab legs and crab cakes that looked tasty! Five years later... Come on Fresh Market can't you have hot sides after 3 pm? It never fails, you stop on your way home from work to get the rotisserie chicken dinner and once again no hot sides. Now they'll try to sell you what they got leftover, even though it's not enough to fill their smallest container, and from the looks of it, was made that morning and so dried out. Yes, they'll offer you cold sides but they don't look that fresh either. For goodness sakes, the store is named "Fresh Market," the food should be fresh. If you're going have hot sides for a dinner meal package, don't not cook them first thing in the morning or better yet, cook another fresh batch at dinner time. And, those corn muffins, if you can get a whole one out of the wrapper, will choke you. Always a good experience - it's a chain that feels like a local bourgeois grocery store. If you've been in one, you know it's not large but they have a wonderful selection of specialty items. Fresh produce and a great butcher, we will sometimes splurge for their premium meat or seafood. They often have specials which make costs more tolerable so it's a good idea to check their online flyer regularly. Another great reason for a visit is their bakery which has a HUGE selection and pricing is reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Thankful to have this option so close to home. read more

To start with their produce is always top notch. There's rarely bad produce out. Their meat department is a1. The guys who work behind the counter are soo patient and nice! Now there's a guy who works in the prepared sides deli and he's a real piece of work, always an attitude. They have I want to say she's a manager, short blond hair- and she is absolutely the sweetest ever! She's always so bubbly and knows exactly what she's doing! The bakery department is pretty solid too, lots of different options! Now if you are needing help in the store, good luck finding someone. I have stopped in here a few times. The store is small but quaint. The produce section looks well-kept and plenty of select. I picked up a fresh tomato this evening and it was delicious. The meat case looks amazing, and I love to window shop; I'm sure I will visit when I'm in the mood for a good steak. The bakery section gets met every time I go through it. Their croissants looked excellent tonight and I look forward to enjoying one with morning coffee tomorrow. One thing that I feel stands out is the coffee section. They have more bean coffee than I've seen in a very long time. I like that I can get so many great coffee flavors. Kudos to them on this. I usually have to rush to get the best cheese rolls in the world (no matter how many they make they sell out every day) Are usually have my daughter in tow who is obsessed with cheese and they have a gigantic round cheese bar in the middle of the store and she's not just satisfied with one or two she wants them all which we could probably buy a house with the cost of that lol but today I went by myself and actually got to take time to walk around and look around and see what they had and let me tell you one thing that food is so fresh I ended up walking out feeling like I'd gone to the world of nations leaving with fresh made chili tamales with pork, two gigantic boxes of fresh made sushi, a lemon meringue pie, Keewee that's been tried out in slices that look perfectly like a sliced Keewee dried mangoes a whole assortment of Lebanese food all fresh, Mochi ice cream, and the list goes on and on. While the prices are high they are not as high as one might think sure you're not going to get Publix prices even but slightly above for food that is way above what we consider fresh fruit from Publix. And then assortment of foods that are sure to delight and entice the entire family and get everyone to try something new and delicious! Staff is courteous and friendly knowledgeable and helpful the store is meticulously clean and walking through there makes me feel like I'm in a whole new world! And don't forget to check out their assortment of sodas that they have not buy the fresh market brand but a collection of so many different and rare sodas. I like this Fresh Market. I find it easier to get in and out of than the one on Atlantic. The store is a pretty good size. They have pretty much anything I can want and the meat department has fresh meet at fair prices. The bakery area is great, their selections of pastries, cookies, sweets and breads is vast and very tasty. They have specials every Tuesday on Chicken and ground beef. They also have weekly specials for other items in the store and have a "little big meal" on sale each week for $20. The meal changes weekly and provides some great savings as well as new/different dinner ideas for a family of 4. If you are interested in the meal, all of the items are conveniently located together near the meat department. The employees are very friendly here. They are willing to help you find items and the checkout process is easy and quick. The store is laid out well and easy to maneuver. It is also clean and doesn't feel cluttered. If your in produce and have a question about other items in the store you can ask the person working produce and they will have the answers. They take pride in knowing their store. Coming here is so relaxing! This is literally my favorite grocery store to shop, if not for the prices I would buy all my produce and grocery items here. Walking in you're greeted by fresh flowers selections which smell so nice! Shortly thereafter the produce with super fresh strawberries, blueberries, etc. They are so bright and colorful you know they will taste delicious! This location has an olive bar and all sorts of fresh pre made entrees and sides such as chicken salad, pasta salad, potato salad, to name a few. Their cheeses are one of my favorite sections! I love brie and they have a fabulous brie wrapped in filo dough with various fillings and topped with nuts! Mm! Even their water selection makes me smile, they have all different bottled water selections, with carbonation, without, fruit infused etc. The desserts are all works of art! I have yet to try any from here that I didn't like! The chocolate chip banana bread is my favorite indulgence! The employees are all very friendly and accommodating. Parking is decent, there are plenty of spots but you have to watch out for pedestrians because the lot is shaped more like an L as opposed to a big square or rectangle. read more

Man, this store is so good. It's like an elevated version of Publix and not as pretentious as Whole Foods. If you want a real treat, go to the butcher section and get a couple of the mushroom and Gouda burgers, they are incredible and thick so you can cook them a proper medium rare with lots of salt and pepper to bring out those earthy and smoky flavors. When we asked the young man behind the counter for help with the prepared meals he got an attitude, said I don't deal with that it's not my job and turned around and walked off to the back of the store by the meat counter. Will never go back to this one on San Jose blvd. We were going to the one on Fleming Island but were over on san jose blvd so we decided to stop at that one. The Fresh Market is a joy to walk through. They have done a fantastic job with product arrangements and accentuate lighting. I frequent the olive bar and meat counter, always a great selection. I avoided the bakery during my last visit as I would have bought everything. This is an excellent place to find some unique and healthy products. Although I'm not much of a coffee lush these days, the large selection is fun to browse; several interesting flavors to be discovered. The staff has always been on point by being friendly, courteous, and kind. A few issues have occurred with items on sale being charged at full price. The procedure to correct such issues is surprisingly long. Overall, Fresh Market is a great store that I plan on returning to frequently and encourage others to do as well. read more

This is one of my favorite places to shop (or browse) in town. And now that we have one in Riverside, I'm so happy. This location in Mandarin was the first one in Jax and was definitely before its time. The cheeses and fruits and all of the prepared foods are wonderful. Their meat department is gorgeous with those huge cuts of red flesh on display priced by the pound and staring right back at you. This is definitely a great place to go to pick up lunch or during the holidays or any special occasion to pick up tasty food and those last minute gift quality items all in one place. I shop here every 2 weeks or so. Hit the specials on Tuesdays and other days, a little sneaky with their marketing but hey, you gotta do what ya gotta do. Thursday's with the nut breads, pizza and chicken, sushi etc is a good deal. Friday's I think is Shrimp? Bakery is on small side but good. Some fancy goodies to tempt you! This location is one of the busier ones I prefer the ponte vedra location because the staff is nicer and more welcoming and helpful. Some of the management at this location is RUDE! Their prices are ALOT better than whole foods. For some items I believe by 30%! Whole foods does have a larger selection of items but doesn't feel like a quaint and organic market like fresh market When I am in fresh market I feel like everything is local , fresh and a higher grade than Publix. Their bakery is awesome ! They have every French pastry you can think of and I enjoy their carrot cake too ! They have GREAT specials Tuesday Fridays and Sunday's ! But except for the new Whole foods, and sometimes Native Sun this is the best place to forage for good quality produce, meat, and almost any other hard to find product if you are into serious culinary preparation of food. Only place you can find Cel-Ray soda, Semolina bread, Frisee, endive, Swiss chard, and sometimes even fresh porcini mushrooms. Also has many organic, and health food items for all you granola heads. Used to come here a lot but consistently had problems. Meat wasn't fresh, salads weren't fresh, very pricey. Stopped going but went back to see if anything had changed. Bought a few expensive treats and forgot to check the dates on a couple. Brought them home and they were already past the "sold" date. Just not worth the hassle to keep going. Also, almost no humanely raised, grass fed beef, which is a shame. Will miss Earthfare. The store replied below. Those meats were empty when I was there, at least I saw two empty spots. I might have missed something. But disturbingly, I went back to exchange the expired food and the same ones were still there, days later, now way past the expiration date. I used to frequent Fresh Market when it was at San Jose closer to 295. It's location means I rarely have a chance to visit anymore, which is a bummer. As others have said, it can be pricey but they have some great products and options you won't find just anywhere. This is one of the places that carries large bins of granola mix, nut blends, chocolate covered pretzels, nuts and fruit, etc. They are all 'help yourselves' and provide an aisle of bins filled with different mixes, baggies and scoops. Now they are not renewing their lease and are closing. I love the fresh market. Especially when they have sells! This time I went for fruit and meats. I got some strawberries (BOGO) when we got home I tried them they were so sweet and tasty my daughter loved them. Also I got cherries, which were also sweet.
