Stopped by Fresh Market. Thursday is $7.00 meal deal from the deli. I picked meatloaf and the 2 sides were Mac n cheese. We did not care for either. Both were very bland. I've had better meatloaf in the hospital. I also tasted the Thai noodle salad that I was not a big fan of. I saw a Goo Goo Cluster at check out so HAD to get one for the memory. It did not disappoint. Their breads and desserts are outstanding. I also got this weeks meal deal. We did not cook it yet but it was chicken parm, steam in a bag fresh veg with garlic butter pasta sauce, fresh mozzarella and choco chip cookies. Enough to feed 4 for $25. read more

Rude bakery staff. Each time that I've had an order they tossed the item out on the counter and no eye contact or smile just so rude. Once I got scolded for mispronouncing the name of a silly cake !! This is a great Fresh Market store. They have lots of unique items that are organic and healthy. Layout is good and the lighting and decor make for a great shopping experience. The coffee selection is wonderful. Prices are not the best but you get what you pay for. They have sales sometimes that help. The deli and bakery are awesome. Staff are very nice. Two days before Christmas and I agreed to make breakfast, so grocery shopping goes to the top of the list. Family wanted Shepherd's Pie. Yes, we try something different every holiday, as we have had many turkey and ham dinners in the past. Getting the right meat for this dish is critical (and yes, I do not cook often, so it was an adventure). I spoke with David, the Meat Manager. He was very informative about using which type of meat and what that would mean to the flavor/taste of the dish. Next, I went to the Bakery to pick up our order. Just had to get Dad the Kitchen Sink cookies for his Santa stocking (of course I wanted some too). For some reason the order had not been filled and there were none on the shelf. Abak (Bakery staff) came to the rescue. She found fresh baked cookies, packaged them up and I was on my way. Through this shopping journey, I also had assistance from Wendy and Heather (Produce Manager). There were a couple of other people, but I did not get their names (sorry). Yes, it was crazy two days before Christmas, and I was not their only shopper. All of the staff were professionally friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I come here often, especially when I am craving guacamole since they make it in house and fresh, just beware and make sure you choose the heat accordingly, don't be like me and assume it's all mild or non spicy.. but man is it delicious. They have so many unique items in store and great desserts! The store is always stocked and it seems they have an Abundance of employees in every corner. Recently found out they also give out cookies to the kids at the bakery like other supermarkets do, so another bonus point for them. read more

The food is great. I got a Togo dinner and the price was reasonable. And they have a sushi chef on site!!! The service was good. I got greater and the chairs was pleasant. The ambiance was as good as a grocery store can get. I will def be going again. read more

The moment me and my daughters dad walked in everybody was starting at us. The door beeped when we walked in. I didnt even want to put my hands in my pocket to grab my phone. I got the lego candy for my daughter. The guy by the pastries was nice, but once i went into the restroom they were trying to figure out what we were doing. Its the corner by the restroom. I walked by the register so they can see me and then i looked up from my phone i was next to the vault near the window. What a crazy place to out the safe. So blame the company not me. I felt like they were starring at us because we were the only darker colored folks in there. Thats insane. read more

I am so happy to see a Fresh Market on my side of town. Not having to cross a bridge makes me very happy. Always liked Fresh Market for fresh veggies and meats as well as organic canned and boxed goods. I always appreciate being able to buy beans, rice, and pastas by weight versus having to buy prepackaged goods. They have great spices and cheeses as well as a broad selection of wines. Today they were showcasing red and white wine as well as their fresh sushi. I,loved the chef's daily special at the sushi bar and was happy to take some home for later snacking. Store is always immaculate and staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They also have terrific weekly specials so be sure to check out the chalkboard by the front door. read more

Poor Customer Service, specifically an employee of Fresh Market hung up the phone on me before our conversation was finished! This conversation was held approximately at 0745 before the store was opened. My point being here is what employee is that rude before the work day even starts??? Specifics: Last Sunday I placed an order for a large party platter of wings. I physically went to the store and turned in my form request. I was planning on picking up the wings on Tuesday at 6:30 pm. Plans changed so on Tuesday, around 1:30 I called and spoke w/ a male manager (I did not obtain his name as I did not think that was necessary). I asked what time the store opened and could I pick up the wings on Wednesday at 0800 so I could be in/out the door quickly. You see I had an event as I had explained that I needed to be at no later than 0845 and still had to drive over the Buckman bridge. The manager said this would be fine and I then specifically asked when would the wings be prepared, late evening on Tuesday or Wednesday am? The manager stated that the crew would prepare the wings before closing on Tuesday, store them, and they would be ready for immediate pick up Wednesday am. On Wednesday am, I drove over to Fresh Market and at 0745 standing outside the entrance I called to inquire if I could pick up the wings a few minutes early given I was told they would be ready. The employee who answered the phone has a harsh and impatient tone from the beginning of the conversation. She told me the wings were cooking but I told her I spoke w/ a manager the day before and the wings were ready. She hastily questioned me for the name of the manager. I told her I did not know. She put me on hold for several minutes, came back, and said, "the wings are cooking and they won't be ready until 0800." I said again that I expected the wings would be ready as promised but she continued in an aggressive tone to question me for the manager's name. I replied again that I did not know except for that it was a male manager and I'm sure it could be identified if she were to look at the schedule for the day before around 1:30 pm. This conversation was very useless to me and frustrating that I was being questioned by an employee with such a harsh and angry tone especially first thing in the am:( I said to Jenny that I would have to cancel my order since the wings were not ready as I had to be somewhere and she HUNG THE PHONE UP ON ME!!!!! I could not believe that an employee would be this rude to a customer especially first thing in the morning. I left and went to Publix. As soon as I got to the Publix deli the ladies were smiling and greeted me. I explained what had happened and they apologized for that behavior at Fresh Market. I was treated with kindness and they quickly boxed wings for me on the spot without question. This is CUSTOMER SERVICE! I thanked them and made sure to call the manager at Publix later that am to send my appreciation to his employees. The employees at Publix display what customer service should emulate. Much appreciated and went on my way and was able to arrive at my event on time and with delicious Publix chicken wings. I tried to handle this situation by phone later in the am w/ another Fresh Market manager (female) but she seemed like she was trying to justify the employee's questioning me of the manager's name and said she would talk to Jenny. That seemed slighted to me so I felt the need to write this review. read more

Listen if I were a millionaire I would dish out 5 stars here, so the only holdback is the rather higher prices. This is a chain and while I thought we did not need another option here on Fleming Island, I do appreciate this trendy, organic driven, specialty grocer. It is fun to shop here and a great place to pick up dinner or lunch for one or twenty. Gotta mention you can also pick up some lovely gifts here too as well as fresh flowers. read more

My husband ordered the Filet Mignon Valentines special and all I can say is WOW. The best filet we've ever had. It came with a dozen roses, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. There is a nice selection of coffees, nuts & seeds, cheeses, grass-fed meats, and organic products. The bakery has delicious options - mmmm cupcakes! I regularly shop at Fresh Market locations in the Jacksonville area. I recently visited the Fleming Island Fresh Market for the 1st time and was VERY impressed. The store is open, spacious, clean and well stocked. It sets the bar high for the Fresh Markets. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Kerrie Smith who was the cashier. She was efficient, knowledgeable and seems to care for her customers. I'm happy to rate the store and staff 5!! read more

For me, The Fresh Market was intimidating for several years. I would occasionally go into the one off Atlantic Blvd and never leave without spending $50....yet never felt like I had the groceries to show for it. So I avoided it. Then one was built in Fleming Island and I continued to avoid it for a while. FM is a whole other grocery shopping experience. I think it's the dim lighting; it's relaxing and makes me think incense should be burning and a yoga class will take place in the back. My friend was mentioning their Little Big Meals, how it was "easy dinner". I had seen these in the emails (sign up!) but never paid much attention. We decided to give it a whirl. They start on Wednesday and end on Tuesday. The fajitas, delicious! I ended up buying it twice that week. The Stir Fry is also yummy; also bought twice in a week's span. It's $20 for 4 servings and generally includes the meal and an appetizer or desert. Tuesdays is $2.99/lb Chicken Breast and Ground Chuck. I plan our weekly meals around these meats, BOGOs at Publix, and Winn Dixie deals. The food they make in house is delicious - my "last meal" before my CSection with my second daughter was an Asian chicken (I don't remember which; it did have a kick to it), teriyaki chicken wings, and potstickers. In comparison, my last meal before my CS with my first was a Pizza Lunchable, ha! We get the stuffed twice baked potatoes to accompany meatloaf whenever I make that. It's a perfect pairing! They're huge potatoes; my eldest daughter and I usually share one. They also have sushi made in house by the same company that makes it at my work. I love the Spicy Tuna Rice bowl! Other pre-made meal items you can find include soups, sandwiches, potstickers, pizza (you'll need to bake), and more options of course! The bakery is another stop we make. My daughter is obsessed with macarons. We love the ones from the France Pavillon at EPCOT, but haven't found any in the Jacksonville area we like. I do believe we liked Restaunt Orsay's, yet don't have the funds to eat there nightly. Fresh Market has macarons and we tried theirs. THE BEST! It's so nice (or dangerous) to have a place close to home with yummy treats. When my eldest broke her hand last month, I instructed Daddy to bring home some macarons as a "get well soon" gift. We both love the Almond Wedding Cake. The Chocolate Coconut is also delicious and so is Pistachio and Salted Caramel. The Bakery will sometimes have samples out. Last weekend was all things pumpkin; Pumpkin Muffins, Cookies, and Bread. I'm not "basic" - I don't freak out when Pumpkin season comes around. But my husband tried the cookie, insisted I try and we buy the cookies, and then within 36 hours I had eaten 6 of the 8 cookies. If the Pumpkin cookies are out, get those! Moral of the story. I'm not as intimidated anymore. I stop by The Little Big Meals, go to the meat section on Tuesdays, peek at the Bakery, maybe get Sushi for lunch, and grab a bottle of Hint Water on my way out. I'm in Fresh Market 2-3x a week. Their employees are friendly and try to engage in conversation. I'm not all about organic food, but know they do have plenty of that in regard to boxed and canned, as well as frozen. They also sell wine! And occasionally they'll have someone doing wine samples. Sign up for their emails so you know what specials are going on; eg BOGO Pork Tenderloin was Saturdays in Sept. They'll also send coupons such as $10 off $40 Sat & Sun only. And you can use these coupons at Publix since FM is a competitor! So you'd print out your Fresh Market email, shop at Publix, hand them the email at check out and you'll get $10 off! read more

My husband and I shop at Fresh Market regularly. I like the organic fruits and the great deals on meats that they have at least 2 times a week. The deli section is also great! The prepared foods have been delicious. Now, for the not so great. We have purchased the Market Meals, and the Beef dishes that we received had a piece ( 2 are packaged) that was un- edible, both times. It had so much gristle throughout. It was the larger piece and my husband had to eat a peanut butter sandwich even though I shared some of mine with him. When I was in today, I mentioned it to a manager and he said he would speak to the butcher. That's all. At Publix, if you that happened they would get you another meal. So, we won't get the Market Meal with beef again. read more

I really love the fresh market , I wanted to comment on the women who stated that a couple women took her mom's wallet the same thing happened in Winn Dixie to me but the scenario was different, and older lady tried to keep my attention and there were 2 younger females sitting on a bench watching, she was trying to get close to me and tried to distract me to get into my purse but I kept it close by because I had read her comment, so watch out when your in the stores evidently this must be a group of scammers working together, hopefully they will get caught read more

Store is very clean and the items look fresh and well organized. I purchased a chocolate ganache cake for a birthday celebration and we were not disappointed. It remained fresh and delicious for 3 days in the refrigerator. Way better than any Publix cake we have ever had (they tended to be dry). Found out from a Publix deli worker that they receive their cakes frozen--no wonder they dry out so quickly. I will continue purchasing my special occasion cakes from Fresh Market. I also enjoyed a Matcha/Ginger bottled drink I have never seen anywhere else. Prepared food looks wonderful as well as their ribeye steaks. Will return even though it is a 30 minute drive from where I live. read more

Sampled fresh markets sushi and wow. So much better than publix and fresh. Publix doesn't always really ever taste fresh and gives me killer heart burn !!! But wow it is as like tasting a real sushi house roll. Fresh market either has the same deals as other stores are is a little more pricey but cute store for sure and friendly staff. Prices are constantly going up. Used to sell Freshmarket baguettes for $2.49, now the same baguette, smaller size and different name (Polish) is priced at $3.99. Fruit tarts went up $3 too. The eggs I buy - $1.00. The raspberry linzers, from $2.99 to a double now $5.99. All in a matter of a few months. These are just a few examples, most of everything I buy here has gone up, while Publix maintains the same prices. This are not good business practices, even for a chain. read more

The good: Lots of beautiful vegetables and fruits, great looking prepared foods, new and different items to try. The store is very clean. The not so good: 1. poor location, getting in & out difficult to see on coming cars! Site lines!!!!! 2. No cart return in the parking lot! No baggers offering to take your purchase to your car. Hope handicapped people are assisted. 3. Lack of employees, no one in seafood/meat section. Manager appeared and he was not a happy camper with customer beside me. 4. Purchased crab cakes.... doesn't taste like crab, and had too much filling. $$$ too high. 5. Had to leave, purchased chicken salad asked about another item. Clerk had no idea, nor was she trained to work in that department. 6. Check out, no greeting, no smile, no thank you, no come back again.... NO PROBLEM, I won't trouble you ever again. Management is responsible for not training their personnel properly. You need to keep the customers happy if you expect us to return. Hire some adults and make sure they are ready to treat your customers with a pleasant experience or you will soon be out of business. Maybe go to Publix....we do! read more

I went there on On Saturday bought two pieces of halibut and two pinwheel steaks, had a halibut Saturday night very tough, on Monday I opened up the package with the two steaks in it and they were bad!!! So in the pouring down rain I drove myself back up there which is 14 miles from where I live get in there talk to the meet manager he tells me I can go up front and get my money back or I can pay extra for the steaks that I wanted in place of the bad meat won't go there again ever!! read more

very frustrated. This store just opened so during my issue I tried to keep that in mind but after this afternoon I'll go back to shopping at the mandarin location. On June 27th I came in to the store specifically to buy the on sale chicken. When walking to that department there was a cold case with prepackage chicken breast (for the sale price) and decided to pick those up instead of waiting at the butcher counter. When I got home I began to portion out the chicken to freeze. I noticed the weights were off. So I weighed all of the chicken and was surprised to see is was under the weight printed on its package(then I threw the packaging on top and it equaled the printed weight). I called to store to notify them the packages were wrong. Store manager Charles apologized profusely and asked me to return to the store when I could to refund me. Well today is June 30th and I decided to go in. I arrived at 2pm and informed the closest clerk that I was looking to speak with Charles the manager. He called on the speaker twice. Then I was told he could be on a break. So I waited for them to confirm. A few more minutes.. the clerk saw him walking to an office so he ran over to inform him someone was waiting. The clerk walked back and said he's on the phone and should be out soon. ok... so I continued to wait. I waited for a total on 20 minutes. After that I gave up and walked out.
