Manager told me to lie to a customer. Brittny signed for a package that Fed ex delivered by mistake. Person came in and showed me that Brittny signed for it the day before. I told him that Brittny was right over in floral, let me ask her. Brittny told me to tell him she wasn't there. I threw up 3 times and was a basket case after that. I quit a couple of days later. This grocery store is so cute and unique. We had so much fun looking around at all the cool things. Produce, meats, cheeses, sauces, wines, beers HUGE SELECTIONS. Fresh deli and prepared foods. Desserts. We got a panini that was so incredibly good. It had fig jam, I'm definitely going to get another panini this week. read more

Went here a couple times to grab pizzas for dinner when pizzerias were either sold out for the night or we would have needed to wait hours to eat at a restaurant. The Margherita pizza the first night was great. Generous toppings, slices were cut well, and the crust was thin but not over cooked. We decided to try them again when we were in a time crunch and needed a quick meal. The second time, we tried the ensalada pizza. The person preparing our order burnt the crust and put inappropriate toppings on the pizza. Instead of the toppings outlined on the pizza like arugula, she put salad mixed greens which burned and became extremely bitter. Crust was dry and burnt. She did not add the balsamic glaze either. The tomato sauce was extremely tart but last time was much more balanced. If they were out of ingredients, I don't understand why they wouldn't tell us and would instead scam us by giving us a bastardized version of the pizza. Incredibly unprofessional and I will not come back here. read more

Great little market that is similar to a Whole Foods. They have all sorts of wonderful, unique, organic, and fresh specialties. Great selection of produce with a nice variety of organic options. Beautiful fresh flowers and they were actually very reasonably priced. Nice bread and bakery. Great deli section with sliced meats & cheese to order, great selection of cheese, a variety of prepared foods (had a gent making sushi while we were there), and a nice antipasto & olive bar. Decent wine selection & smaller beer selection. Our cashier, Laura, was very kind and helpful. She switched out our cart to a larger one w/o us even asking (we bought more then the little cart would hold, lol). She had a great sense of humor too. We popped in Monday to look around and grab a few things. On our way to the register a male employee with shoulder length hair walked over to the bulk candy bin, reached in with his hand to grab a piece of something covered in chocolate, walked back to the register and rang up what looked to be like a friend or a fellow employee who was off shift. Gross! Got home and our sushi had no soy sauce packets with it - disappointing when you are staying at a beach house. We will not be back. read more

Super fresh is what this place should be called. I love everything about this market. This is Whole Foods on steroids. The produce is extremely fresh: grapes and pineapples are so sweet and delicious. The fresh deli counter has the nicest people. I especially love the employee who let me sample the fresh chicken salad. The homemade pizzas are super delicious and they offer a large variety. Don't stop me now... because the bakery is a must visit, the cookies, the breads and oh my gosh, the croissants are all .... Fresh! So what's the deal.... Sign up for the emails. There are bargains to be found. Thursdays are $5 days: roast chicken(whole), full 12 inch pizzas, sushi and breads (2 for $5). One cashier and the scale was broken. Even after the first two customers they didn't close the register and move to another one. It took for me to ask if the scale was broken. We didn't want to wait again for another line which by that time they opened by had like 4 /5 people already there. We just left the food back and bought stuff that was not scale. She even rang the watermelon wrong instead of scanning the code she typed in a different code. I didn't even argue since we were there way too long. read more

Absolutely love this place!! My friends and I are visiting on spring break and we come here almost every day for fresh snacks. The fresh fruit is delicious, and the sushi is amazing! We talked to the man who makes the sushi, he's the sweetest and his food is the best. 1000% recommend. read more

So happy to have this option (other than Food Lion and Harris Teeter). This store is like Whole Foods in setup and atmosphere - they sell fresh flowers, fruits, meats, baked goods and prepared foods. They also sell coffee and candy in bulk. Their salad bar and prepared salads were a relief - especially since eating out all the time as a tourist was taking a toll on my stomach. read more

The quality of food here is way better than the nearby supermarkets. Food is actually fresh. We bought 2 pounds of ground beef to make burgers and they were some of the best burgers we've had. we have ordered several of the holiday meals and usually are very satisfied. This year I ordered the 8 to 10 serving of the ham meal. The ham was excellent. We were expecting cheddar cheese scallop potatoes but in our box was mashed potatoes and they tasted like instant potatoes. We also had the green bean medley that was flavorless, we added seasoning to make them edible. I will try again but was disappointed this year. read more

The Fresh Market as a whole is an awesome store. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food is delicious. THIS particular location is totally different with respect to the employees (except the young blonde girl at the register, she was awesome.) Coming from out of State, my family wanted some hero's for lunch. I went to TFM to purchase the bread, meat, cheese and antipasta. Easy, right? Nope! There was a guy standing at the antipasta bar handing out samples as I searched for marinated artichoke hearts. After the fifth trip around to be sure I wasn't hallucinating (missing the actual antipasta) he was just watching and watching..didnt ask me if I was finding what I needed. As a matter of fact another employee did the same, just walked right by me. Frustrated, I flagged down the next employee I saw who then disappeared for a good 5min to find out if they had artichokes. When he returned, he walked me over to the shelves. Then I went to the deli for pasta salad where a young lady was cleaning. It took a while for her to even acknowledge my presence (after we made eye contact a few times.) When she finally spoke, she asked if I needed help. My reply was yes and then I waited for someone else to come. This was the situation with every department except the seafood dept. That was a whole different nightmare which I won't get into. I was also disappointed by the fact that the lemon squares I grew up eating (and loving) were gooey and wayyyy too lemoney. On a positive note, the basil tortellini salad was pretty good and the macademia cookies were probably the best I have had. Some of their items are pricier but I think its worth it (save the bad customer service.) read more

The worst Fresh Market I have seen in 20 states. Crappy produce,the worst I have seen, clueless people who dont know whole foods..its obvious they dont. The prices suck as you would expect in any FM. Whole foods is 100 times better than this place. Unfortunately Whole Foods is 2 hours away in VBeach. The bread has dough conditioners in it. But mostly its lousy produce. Get some decent veg in there and get some people to manage it that know and care about good food. Fresh Market jumped on the natural foods bandwagon when it looked like they could syphon off some rich boy money in places that WF didnt want to setup. They are way behind and need to fire all the bad business worms that manage it and get some people who know good food. Or else they will fail. I wouldnt be surprised if they close this store in the next couple of years. read more

Have tried several different things ready to and am very disappointed. Food is overpriced, and not to my taste. The people in the deli are rude and abrupt. The salad bar ar 5pm is old and wilted, with a sad selection. The quiche is $9.99 lb.and Is WORST I have eaten, ever! The checkout people are fairly courteous, only redeeming factor. An experience i will not have again. Prefer Harris Teeter and waiting for PUBLIX to come, with good food, customer service and prices. read more

Several months ago, I went into fresh market to get a salad from the salad bar. The lettuce was visibly rotten so I passed. Today I went in to pick up their special which was 4 crab cakes and other preselected items. I went to the salad bar again; this time it looked fresh so I decided to make one. Half way through doing so, I walked to the other side, slipped and fell on standing water. An employee saw this happen and asked if I was ok. I said yes but pointed out the standing water. Instead of anyone mopping it up, the employees just went about their business. My next stop was the deli area to get the crab cake special. I was told by the rude lady working there that everything pertaining to this special was up front. That's it. No other info like where up front etc. upon checking out, I explained the situation w the cashier. She asked if I wanted to see a manager. I said yes. I told the manager about my fall and the rude employee. Her response? "I'm sorry". That was it. I will not frequent this place ever again in the Nags Head location. read more

This is the nicest grocery store I have ever been in. Think wholefoods, but a little smaller and a lot less crowded. In addition to having a great selection of healthy ingredients, their prices are very competitive (especially when compared to similar types of healthy grocery stores). They even gave us a carton of eggs on the house because the bar code wouldn't scan! They had awesome customer service and everyone was equally friendly. I highly recommend checking them out. read more

We stopped by to check it out yesterday. Looked nice and clean. Prices were high. I was happy they had coffee. But another lady said it was cold. We tried to find someone but were told later they were getting someone. I was disappointed. It shouldn't be that difficult to find assistance. We left. May try it again. Although I am so grateful to have TFM located here at the beach, it is a disappointment compared to the other TFMs that I have been in. The prices are higher, most of the employees have little interest in helping (the guy in the deli does everything he can to avoid waiting on you), the produce selection is sub-par and outrageously expensive, and the deli employees seem to know little about the products (for example, they don't know if their deli meats are "uncurled" and one woman stated, "its whatever it says on the package". It is still refreshing to have this store with the upscale food within 15 minutes as it is far better than Food Lion in the same shopping center. I just wish they'd look at their prices and train their employees better related to whole foods. read more
