This is good for vegetarians and non-vegetarians Everyone liked their order. We came here to walk around the town and do some shopping. When we got hungry, we stopped at the Hungry Pelican for a nice lunch. It was tasty and big portions so some of us have food for later (the teenagers found a way to eat it all...). The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean. Great lunch stop while in Manteo!

Good sandwiches, fast making them and cute location. Got the italian (Godfather) highly recommend and the chipotle chicken is good as well!!

Food was fairly priced and absolutely delicious! The girl at the register was so sweet and walked us through our options as we were first timers at the deli. The back rooms are adorable and cozy with great natural light.

My daughter ordered the BLT salad. She LOVED it. She said it was delicious. It was large and she couldn't eat it all.

Probably the best sandwich I've had. I could not recommend it more. I had the bbq chicken sandwich. My wife had the Hawaiian salad and rated it an 8/10. It was a good portion and chopped appropriately. Excellent customer service too.

Creative sandwiches, fresh ingredients, and great service--that's the Hungry Pelican in downtown Manteo. We had a lovely lunch at this cute sandwich shop. I had the roast beef and smoked Gouda Club sandwich. It was served on ciabatta bread that was light and fluffy-very tasty! My BF had the smoked Turkey and smoked Gouda on cornbread. He said it was delicious. There is a lot of seating inside and a bunch outside that people were using since it was a nice December day. They also have a nice selection of drinks, including IBC Cream soda. I would definitely visit again.

Exploring Monteo and stumbled across this cute deli. Great food for great prices! I really enjoy how fine the lettuce was cut, it made it super easy to eat. Also, the homemade honey mustard dressing was fantastic :)

Great food at reasonable prices in downtown Mateo. The service was exceptional and had enough room for our group of 10 to all sit together.

Great deli! Best tomato soup I've ever had! Nice area to eat outside. Came all the way from Washington state to love this soup.

There was also a lot of comfy seating inside with a couple of nooks furnished with chairs and couches for families to sit in. Past the cafe is a market area with merchandise and wine. We noticed that the cafe smelled amazing when we walked in the door. The staff were very friendly, upbeat and helpful. We ordered a large and a medium pizza which were both generous in size. Our granddaughter commented that the pepperoni pizza was tasty yet lacking enough meat. The large sausage-pepperoni-mushroom-onion was full of fresh ingredients and very delicious. Chewy crust with the right amount of sauce. We ordered 2 garden salads which were fresh, good mix of veggies and came with a generous amount of homemade ranch dressing. The boneless chicken wings were also great. The sauce had a nice kick (if a bit of spice is your thing.) We had enough leftover for lunch the next day. The tab came to $80.00 which is a steal for dinner and lunch for 8. Wishes we lived locally; would be regulars.

We tipped well and it did not ensure good or prompt service at all. I wish I could have taken back my tip after the lousy meal and experience. When we ordered I asked for two cups of ice water to fill our bottles and she brought us one and said she couldn't bring another. She also made us come pickup our food but brought others theirs. It was as if after 5 minutes she forgot who ordered what. Mind you, we were the only couple in here when we arrived, a small group of 4 outside, no one inside. We had three groups come in after us with about 10 people total. The girl taking orders at the counter acted as if any requests were a complete inconvenience to her in an empty restaurant. We ordered two sandwiches, an Italian and a custom gluten-free sub. The Italian was the worst Italian sandwich I have ever had in my life. The pickled onions and fresh meats were good, but the giant chunks of mozzarella and missing oils, vinegar and peppers really stood out as making it incomplete. It was not toasted at all. The gluten free sub was super dry and part of it inedible. We ordered a large side of jalapeño popper potato salad....no idea why it was called that...there wasn't a single jalapeño in it and I assumed some type of cream cheese...it was just really bad potato salad, we fed most of it to the seagulls with the super dry parts of the gluten-free sub. We had to go up and ask for additional silverware and napkins...when we picked up our food we got one spoon and nothing else. Again, asking for napkins and another spoon seemed like a huge hassle for the staff. When we were done we weren't sure if this was a "clean up after yourself" place or not so we bussed our own table...what was the tip for again? Anyways, bad experience. Terrible parking lot for motorcycles as it's mostly deep gravel. We won't be back.
