i HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE PLEASED! Celebrating a special occasion post COVID is literally frustrating as very few restaurants want to deal with a large party! We Celebrated the moms in our family in style and in the comfort of our home Thanks to Fresh Market!!! We decided to buy 7 (2 person meals) from Fresh Market which included a bouquet of flowers. Each meal included a protein, starch, vegetable and dessert. Filet mignon, Crab cake, prime rib and quiche meals were more than enough for 15 people to eat and take their left overs home for another meal. All we had to do was heat up and cook the steaks. I'm a cook so when I say it was GREAT QUALITY, you're not talking to a fast food restaurant eater!!!! I'm just waiting for the menu to come out for Father's Day because we will be doing a repeat. I have tried to check in here several times and I never seem to be able to find on my app. I really like Fresh Market and the staff here has always treated me wonderfully. The service at the meat counter can be slow and the deli sadly, but I have never had to wait terribly long. Just long enough at times to make you wonder. I love the black and white cookies they make here... oh they are yummy. I also love the Brown Sugar Ham, some of the best ham I have ever had. And they have some herb sliced turkey that I have to say is the only turkey I have ever enjoyed. I don't buy everything here because it would be like shopping at Jungle Jims and expecting to get out cheap. Where at Jungle Jims I never leave for under $100, here I never leave for less than $50. So why am I a fan and why do I keep coming back? Well the Ham, the black and white cookies, and a fun selection of Wine. I also buy my Corn Nuts here by the container. If you find Kroger to be mundane, Whole Foods to have too many hipsters, Trader Joe's to have too many smiling faces, then The Fresh Market should be your next grocery store to try. I've been going to the Fresh Market ever since they first opened up in my hometown of Marietta, GA and if childhood memory serves me right, they had the best oranges in town and awesome dried veggies. Now, I don't go to the Fresh Market for produce, but rather for the experience. I never come here with any intention of bringing home something specific, but rather to thoroughly take a break from the fluorescent lights of the office and lack of sensory excitement. The Fresh Market's real aim (I believe) is to mimic that of a European outdoor market. Obviously it's not outdoor, but they carry a lot of very European-esque products and the dim lighting, gourmet foods, and incredible wine selection make it feel like you're in a slightly different world. Their prepared foods look spectacular, and they have a huge olive bar to boast. (though honestly, it's comparable to Jungle Jim's. Whole Foods has less selection, but I am not an olive connoisseur). They have a great coffee selection and a 12 oz cup is super cheap at $1.00! Their bulk foods are nothing like Whole Food's bulk selection, as they are all snacks. They have tons of candy and lots of good chocolate. Their body care section is small but it has all your staples. Prices are comparable to Whole Foods. Their oil selection is amazing with tons of varieties, tons of brands; you'd think you'd be annoyed, but my favorite part about it all is browsing. That's what I live for! And if you're looking for cheese, they've got excellent cheeses. Their selection is comparable to Whole Foods, but it definitely can't beat Jungle Jim's, though I can't say much about the quality. If you're looking to save money, this is not the place to go. Their meats and fish are great quality, but you do pay for them. I would avoid buying fruits and veggies here at all cost, however. They are incredibly expensive, and not necessarily "organic". A good buy here though, is definitely their TFM coconut water, as well as their small bulk foods, such as seeds, coconut chips, and some dried fruits. They also have great tasting and cooking events, even wine tasting, but they're usually very small scale and happen rather infrequently. read more

This is going to be the best grocery store for you, especially during the pandemic! I wanted to give this place an updated review with how they are handling the pandemic. Out of all of the grocery stores I have been to, this is the only one I have been to where I feel safe and I feel like the associates are taking everything seriously. Upon entry, a very kind woman (who was following social distance guidelines and was wearing protective equipment) directed us to all of the sanitized carts that were already separated to prevent people from touching multiple carts. They also had complimentary gloves that everyone who shopped there was encouraged to wear. When I went inside, the staff were still as helpful as they always were and they were also following social distancing guidelines. I got everything that I needed to be able to stay home for a while and I am grateful for all of the steps that Fresh Market took to have a safe grocery shopping experience. read more

I'm giving two stars based on what I went here for, which was meat substitutes. Absolutely terrible selection. One tofu option, one seitan option and no Tempeh. I came here for tempeh. There was almost an entire shelf empty. An employee said that once they get the price tags back on the shelf, they can start ordering again. Slowest and worst service in a deli I ever experienced. Over 20 minutes wait for the person in front of me to get 1 pound of meat and a 1/2 pound of cheese. When my turn came my thinly sliced roast beef was thicker than the cheese. I don't think there was any training provided to the guy working behind the counter, he couldn't find anything and did not appear to have a clue or motivation. The Fresh Market reminds me of a more intimate Whole Foods - same concept on a smaller scale. I like their fresh/to-go section. Sometimes I like to snack on different things instead of eating a whole meal so I like to go here and get multiple bites from their prepared salad bar area. They also have sandwiches to go and things like that. I didn't think the prices were too outrageous - definitely more expensive than your Meijer or Kroger, but for a specialty place - not horrible. I think it's hard to rave about a grocery store unless it's extraordinary which this is not. It's in a strip - does have a patio with tables which is nice. The staff is so-so. This place just opened up recently and I've never been in one before, so I made a special trip to check it out. When you walk in it smells exactly like a Michaels Art Supply - you know that weird fake floral smell. The interior is dark with lots of spot lighting on the food. There is an unusually large amount of stuff in open bulk bins (candies, coffee, etc.) in the center. The vegetables are on the right side, meat and dairy in the back, and packaged goods and wines on the left. They don't have a particularly big selection of anything, but what they did have seemed to be pretty good quality and interesting. The checkout was also interestingly decorated and different from what one usually expects - I must have looked dump staring up at the lattices... If I shopped in the area I probably would prefer them for meats and vegetables over Kroger, but I don't really grocery shop here... read more

We have found this store to be unreliable. Most items are much higher priced than the competitors. However, we have found the steak to be very, very good at times, have been willing to pay the higher price for the quality, and each time we have returned it was in hopes of finding that same high quality. But, after a year or longer of buying their steak, we give up. We simply are tired of paying top price for supposed "prime" steaks that are so filled with gristle that they are not edible. Dudes, so I went in here on a whim. I was out and about, child free for once and decided to see what kind of produce this place had. Upon entering, I immediately got a dirty look from a passing employee. She literally stopped, looked me over, grimaced, then walked off. Granted, I didn't fit in with the rest of the clientele (yoga pants, buns, fancy purse), but I wasn't dressed like a bum either. I wandered over to the produce. What they had was a decent selection, but sorely overpriced compared to what you can get at other markets. The one item I really wanted was out of stock, so I took to wandering the rest of the store. It was clean and well kept, and for the most part well stocked. The prices were gouging though, and for no reason that I could see. The deli seemed to have a nice selection, but again, nothing I could justify spending the money on. I turned a corner to find myself in front of two more female employees who were loudly trashing talking the management. When they realized I was standing there, they quickly greeted me and went back to their war painting. The gem of the place that I found was the bakery. Despite my poor experience in the rest of the store, I will probably end up humiliating myself and going back for more of their baked goods. They have an amazing selection of cookies (which are a hot commodity in my household) and fun things like baguette croutons and homemade scrap bread croutons. I go to The Fresh Market since it's close to where I live. However during my latest visit the Fresh Market didn't live up to it's name at all. I bought some MISO broth which is an unusual item that is hard to find. I was delighted when a friendly employee helped me find a carton right away. Even though this broth was three times more expensive than any other, I still I bought it and immediately tried it. I was a bit taken aback by the cloudy appearance and off taste of the broth. I looked at the box so I would know what brand NOT to buy again. That is when I noticed the expiration date of July 2018, almost three month ago!!! So for me, the Fresh Market is now called the super expensive EXPIRED FOOD outlet. When I brought the broth back to return it, I was even more disappointed. The employee who took it back made a bunch of excuses about how "we don't check dates on items that aren't frequently sold". She said it a couple times and didn't even apologize for the fact that they had sold me bad, expired merchandise. With as much as a customer pays for unusual and special food at Fresh Market, I was really a bit frustrated at this substandard, insensitive, customer unfriendly reaction when they sold me really old food. As I looked where I found the item. I saw EIGHT other cartons of expired broth still on the shelf. I guess from now on, I'll make the drive to Whole Markets or Trader Joe's for great customer service and high quality items. If you do dare to shop at Fresh Market be sure to check every item for freshness. It's only a matter of time before this place will make a whole lot of people sick if they don't change their processes for getting rid of old, expired food on their shelves. read more

Lost me as a customer today. I left the store empty handed, after standing in front of the meat counter for 10 minutes without any employee acknowledging me. It was 9:00 a.m. and maybe six to eight customers in the entire store. There was an employee helping two people at the seafood counter, but nobody at the meat department. At least three employees walked past me without a word. Considering the higher prices that The Fresh Market believes it is worthy of charging customers, it should spend some of those profits on better store management. read more

I have been a very loyal Fresh Market (tylersville rd. West Chester Ohio) up until an hour ago. I ordered a "fresh turkey " from them for two years in a row and upon picking it up it is FROZEN. Nothing fresh about it. Guess I'm at fault since I tried again but they have lost a customer. Spoke to manager on duty and all he did was look at me, said not one word. My fiancé and I recently took a sushi making class at The Learning Kitchen in West Chester, and learned that The Fresh Market sells sushi-grade fish. We figured if they sell sushi-grade, their other fish is probably pretty decent too! We ended up buying wild caught scallops, wild-caught shrimp, and farm raised salmon for some fish kabobs. They had a $6.99/lb deal on salmon fillets that was hard to pass up. All of the fish was good, but the wild-caught shrimp was super, suuuuuper delicious. Definitely worth the peeling/deveining. We will probably continue to buy fish from here. read more

The people working at this Fresh Market are super friendly. However, it definitely does not do well in the "fresh" department. Produce can be hit or miss. Careful inspections are necessary! All expiration dates must be checked. Countless times I've seen expired dates in all departments, dairy, breads, salads and even crackers.
