Okay. Take my money haha.. I am honestly incredibly impressed by Dorothy Lane Market. First of all.. I am from San Diego California and so when my friends asked me if I've been to Dorothy Lane.. I had ZERO idea what in the world they were talking about. Never heard of DLM.. so months later.. I tried one of their cakes at a baby shower and it was delicious and I was shocked on how much I loved it.. Long story short I took a deep dive in researching DLM and after understanding that they do their best in using LOCAL Ohio farmers.. I had no choice but to check it out! Anywho.. I am a grocery market type of gal and I love me a gourmet grocery store and this is probably one of the best because everything seems fresh, local, and decently priced which is amazing for any consumer in ANY class. WAYYYY better than Whole Foods.. and definitely WAYYYY better that Erewhon! I ordered a naples style pizza for $11.. thats unheard of these days especially given the quality. Have always been a DLM fan and love the fact they now have a store in Mason. While the prices are higher, the service and quality are excellent. We like to stop in and pick up specialty items like fancy bread, desserts, cheese, meat, wine etc. DLM has it all. My family had dinner at DLM last night. They have music on Monday nights. My wife had pizza. I had a ribeye sandwich, my daughters both had make your own poke bowls. People in the northern Cincinnati suburbs get to DLM and check it out. You won't regret it. This is a really nice market with lots of options for food. There are options to have pizza made fresh, sandwiches Kara fixed me a made to order ham sandwich with chips and a pickle. The bakery has cakes, Dubai chocolate bars and many treats to choose from. There's seating upstairs if you decide to dine there. I saw staff walking around assessing needs of the facility and helping patrons. Everyone was nice and helpful and the vibes were chill, easy shopping experience. I've been before and will definitely return again and again. This has beat out Farmer's Market for me. They have a coffee bar that makes various coffee, tea and breakfast options. My daughter and I recently went to the DLM in Mason. We'd been to the one in Springboro many times and we had high expectations for this one. Wow! We certainly weren't disappointed! First, the parking lot was easy to find a spot in. Plenty of carts waiting at the entrance. This place is big! It's also clean and well-lit. A/C kept the store cool. The deli area was top notch. I ordered a grilled salmon meal with two sides for $18. Cooked perfectly and well-seasoned. The staff was very friendly too. After a quick and easy checkout we rode the lift up to the dining area and enjoyed our meal. Although I would not shop here daily due to prices being a bit high, I will definitely come back often. It's such a great addition to the town of Mason. One thing I instantly thought of while visiting them yesterday was how amazing this place will be during the summers I could see on open air patio with seating on the top left of the market. This place had such a welcoming vibe it happened to that time of the year too when everything just looks pretty and feels festive. They have a nice pizzeria and next to it was the bakery area which was full if breads, croissants, desserts and whole cakes the pricing seemed fair as computer similar grocery store. We picked up some sushi it wasn't bad for a grocery store definitely better than the regular grocery store sushi. I also picked up seafood chowder it was a nice size for $5.99 and definitely one of the best I have had. There was an eggnog and cookie tasting station this lady giving out the samples was super friendly. Overall staff was happy/friendly. The store was well staffed. I picked up a coffee on my way out which was lovely. I always feel that a nice coffee place inside a grocery store is such a win. The produce department, bakery and pizza kitchen are the first noticeable departments as you enter. The produce section also offers a selection of fresh ready made salads to purchase by the pound. There is a poke bar, a soup bar and deli sandwich station. The grill located adjacent to the meat counter will grill up hamburgers and fish sandwiches (btw the cod sandwich is delicious!). They offer aged steaks for sale in their dry aging area. As you enter the mid section of the store , shelves are filled with gourmet grocery items. The wine and beer department also offers wines by the glass. There is seating for eating both upstairs and downstairs. This location opened recently and this was my first time checking it out! It is definitely a gourmet grocery store, with more specialty and high-end products. Their food bar featured a HUGE selection of fresh foods, from cold salads to hot meals. Everything looked delicious, albeit a bit pricey, but that is to be expected. I purchased two items from the sushi section: the Salmon Lover Roll was $15.99 and the Tuna Avocado Roll was $9.99. Some of the less visible pieces in the salmon roll were cut a lot thinner/smaller than pieces on top, but overall I am very happy with the quality of both. Each featured large chunks of fish and both were extremely fresh! Although I usually prefer salmon, next time I would actually choose the tuna one again due to how fresh and lean it was (not sinewy at all). For its quality, the price was very reasonable. I was disappointed to see that the pastry display had fruit flies in it (there is a gap between the glass doors so it is never truly "closed") because the baked goods themselves looked delicious. We got two single slices of cake which were both just okay. I probably wouldn't buy again. The pie crust on the chocolate pie was dry, but maybe it's because they were individually packaged? There is an upstairs seating area inside to lounge and relax, as well as both a ground and second floor outdoors! The weather was perfect today and we caught the sunset. At long last, Dorothy Lane Market has graced Mason with its presence! It opened yesterday, 8/20/2025. I wasn't able to attend the opening yesterday but I snuck over there today and I was SO impressed & excited! Worth the wait! Ok, so the building is stunningly huge. Is this their largest location?? There's an upstairs with an outdoor patio that looks awesome. They also have a revolving door and 3 different entrances. Very grand. Today there was a sweet guy dressed as Charlie Chaplin (? idk why) doling out carts to people. The store layout is nice, but honestly for such a large store I wish they had made the aisles a little wider!! It's the same width as their other locations, but with so many people in there right now everything was a bit packed. Let me just get this out of the way, DLM is expensive. There's no arguing that especially when prices for the same products are higher than Whole Foods down the street. I guess this is the price we pay for shopping a local supermarket with only a few locations. What I stick to here are products made by DLM, or other local products that WF doesn't carry. At the Kettering location they have local pastas/sauces, I didn't see anything like that in Mason but maybe it's coming or doesn't exist. The produce section is beautiful. Desserts are absolutely gorgeous, with a huge variety. There's pizza I haven't tried yet, sandwiches that are too $$ to justify, a stunningly gorgeous fish department... and the sushi. When I moved back to Ohio I was worried about what sushi would be like, and DLM made me realize everything would be okay (and there are plenty of great restaurants too!!). The fish quality here is awesome. Everything in here looks photo-worthy. The aisles are a who's who list of gourmet grocery products. Nothing is lacking. The olive oil aisle is impressive and frightening. The only place that does it better is Jungle Jim's and that's only because they have more space for things. We are fans of DLM. We finally stopped at the new location and it's a great looking building. We were looking for something interesting to eat for Sunday dinner and my wife was interested in the Jack's Grill area. We decided to purchase the grilled 8 oz. salmon with a side of teriyaki sauce. For less than $12, I think it was a great deal. We decided to peruse the hot sides and bought garlic penne pasta, smoked chicken wings and roasted veggies. We had the option to buy more sides from many deli choices and use the available microwave oven upstairs, in the seating area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Stopped in this evening to this new location for DLM. We have been here before and have yet to be disappointed. We picked up some fresh bread, cheeses, Hartley Dairy eggnog and some shortbread. You could tell the store had been heavily shopped today. Things were slightly empty in spots where they usually were not and counters such as meat, deli and bakery were heavily shopped and half full. Which is highly unusual to see in a DLM as their stores are always busy but never give you the impression that they are. Nice new store to shop in with friendly employees. The biggest drawback about this store is the parking lot. I'm not sure who designed it. Or, if there is a greater purpose in mind that has yet to be revealed. But, it's difficult to navigate and find parking in. Expect to pay a premium for most things in the store. So, it might not be your "daily shop". But, if you need it. Most likely they will have it. What a nice addition to the Mason Grocery scene, this is well laid out, competitive pricing, and delicious foods. The bakery has lovely treats, produce is abundant, fresh and you can select yourself. Bananas hanging instead of bruised on a shelf, brilliant! Dry aged beef was delicious, I mean who can say no to bacon wrapped filet! So I finally made it to DLM in Mason, every time I have been by the parking lot was full. Well my BFF and I came by got almost front row parking and walked in. We'll have been to 2 other DLM's and we enjoy going in for the fresh baked items, the fresh fish and the fresh prepared meals. This was the first time we seen samples to try, cheese, apple, and honey. So tasty. They also have a coffee cafe in the store. No for my thoughts on DLM, and yes I love to shop here once in a while. This is not Aldi's, nor Kroger, or even Jungle Jim's. Some things may be very reasonable in price, while others may be highly. It is kind of like an upscale Fresh Market. Again I like DLM, but I don't shop here weekly. I am sure you could, but it isn't my weekly shopping. With all that said, I have never had a bad experience nor any issues. They have so many options for hot and premade foods along with a coffee bar and salad bar. I loved seeing that they sell Young Living products. I only compare here because every other bad review seems to be a comparison to a basic grocery store. When I originally heard of this store I thought of a rich whole foods and I think it's more like whole foods and erehwon had a baby. What a fun shopping experience to come to Mason! Did I spend $6 on an avocado? Yes. Was it perfect? Also yes. Not a place to penny pinch, but so fun to walk around and get some really yummy food. We found escargot in the freezer aisle, next to a nice glass encasement of large cuts of cow aging. The bakery section looks divine, the meat and seafood counters rival the coasts/international stores I've been to, and the prepared foods/salad bar is amazing. I wish I lived/worked closer to take advantage of it for an easy lunch/dinner, but will settle for my weekend romps. Pretty standard fancy grocery offerings but Jungle Jim's will get you a lot farther in the out of the norm items you might want. Whole Foods has a better in store dining option. My stars really come down over the small details that make for a good experience. I ordered the soup and sandwich deal and there are UNWRITTEN exceptions to the deal. Some sandwich's on the Famous list evidently are to famous for the deal. Now we sit down to eat but if you want water, you can have it for free from the bathroom, but you will need to BUY a cup.
