When I saw this food truck parked out near the front of my neighborhood I got "eggcited" because I love eggs. And before I get too far into this I want to say the food was good. The flavors were nice and everything was prepared well. However, and this may be just my opinion but, if you're going to call your food truck "The Fried Egg" perhaps eggs should be a part of the make up of most of you menu items. Given the current menu options I think a better name for this truck would be "The Fried Egg is a $1 add-on option." I mentioned to the young lady taking my order that it surprised me that, given the name of the truck, I would have to pay an up charge for an egg. She relayed my sentiments to the cook, who may have been the manager or owner. Nevertheless, I ordered the Classic Smash Burger and did ask for the fried egg add-on. The food was prepared really quickly and the burger looked perfect. However, the young lady informed me that unfortunately they only had 4 eggs left and that they all fell and broke on the floor before my burger was ready. So she handed me a $1 bill as a refund. Obviously disappointed (and skeptical of the story) I accepted the refund and went on my way. The short of it is that while I was eggstremly disappointed by the lack of eggs, the burger was quite good and the fries were wonderful. I would have given this experience 4 stars, I can overlook the name thing, but not being able to have any eggs from The Fried Egg food truck left me somewhat disappointed. read more

Just had a beyond bizarre experience here. Truck is open for business and setup at my apt complex (Aventon Highgrove). Got the "the chick" sandwich and im very impressed, the chicken was so big there was so much extra hanging off the sides, also very crispy ! The sriracha aoli / honey combo was so good paired with it. I was expecting a normal chicken sandwich you might get from popeyes or something but this was like that but on steroids. No bad pieces within the whole chicken while eating, kinda reminded me of a pdq honey chicken sandwich if it was actually good! the fries were also cooked well, lightly but perfectly salted in my opinion. i fw it would definitely come back again! read more

The Fried Egg was a great find in my neighborhood. At first I wasn't sure about eggs for dinner but then I saw the menu and decided to give them a try. I ordered the Brunch Burger with fries. The burger was tender and juicy, not too big but not too small. Just the right size to fill you up but not make you feel like a stuffed pig lol! And the chef cooked the egg to my liking, just a little runny. I prefer runny eggs for breakfast with toast, but didn't want too much yoke making my burger or bun soggy. The burger included 1/4 pound of black angus, Applewood smoked bacon, sharp cheddar, sriracha aioli (loved the kick), lettuce, tomatoes, red onion and of course, a fried egg. All of the ingredients were fresh. And I loved the buttered brioche bun. Nice and soft, just how I like my bread. The service was friendly and pretty fast as no one else was waiting on an order when we arrived. I will look for this truck again! read more

We have noticed this food truck around the city multiple times. We usually miss our chance to try it out. Tonight they were in our neighborhood and we jumped on the chance to try them out. When we got there the line was a bit long. Luckily for us they have a fast turn over on taking orders and cooking the food. We were through the line and order placed in less than five minutes. We got our order in less than ten minutes after placing it. The food tastes really good. The eggs were perfectly cooked. The bacon was nice and thick. The tots were toastie. If you are at an event and see THE FRIED EGG. You have to try it out. It is never the wrong time for breakfast food. read more

This food truck was just at my apartment, Hurston, today. I just finished the burger with a fried egg and the fries. Great food, fries are real and not the giant frozen crinkly fries a lot of trucks have, very seasoned. The burger was great and the egg was cooked to perfection. I will 100% order from these folks again. I tried the loaded tot bowl with bacon -- it was addictive. The green salsa on top was key to balancing the eggs and bacon underneath, could have even used some more on there. I did notice that some of the tots were incredibly salty - it almost looked like pretzel salt on a few of them toward the bottom. I left the last few in the basket. I saw that The Fried Egg food truck would be in our neighborhood and after checking out the menu I know I had to check them out. I will say at first I was has hesitant to great dinner from there since it's the Fried Egg. I wasn't really looking for eggs for dinner but then I saw chicken sandwiches and you know what comes from eggs? Fried Chicken of course. Once arrived I ordered the J-Ville Hot Chicken Sandwich which comes with Fries for $14. After about 15 minutes my order was really and I ran home to get started. Once I got into it the J-Ville Hot Chicken Sandwich looked amazing and tasted just as good. I nice large piece of Fried Chicken with Datil Pepper Seasoning and Special Sauce. The Chicken was cooked perfectly and was not in the least bit dry. I will say it was not that hot is a spicy way so just a heads up for those who might be nervous but does have great flavor. Might be top 2 chicken sandwiches in Jax for sure. I was also a big fan of their fries. Well seasoned and very crispy. Ashley got the tots with her sandwich and I will say the fries are much better then the tots so a heads up there too. I will for sure eat at The Fried Egg again. read more

This was absolutely delicious. The chicken was breaded nicely. The bun was toasted and a bit greasy. The fries came with the sandwich. They were a bit cold by the time we drove home. It's hard to capture the deliciousness of my dinner tonight in a photo, but I promise you my loaded tater tots rocked! I skipped on the sausage on my half since I dont eat meat, and I enjoyed every mouthful. Fresh fried egg with a runny yolks popped and ran all over my tater tots as I dug in. Tater tots were well seasoned and not too greasy. All the fixins accompanied the dish very well. Today I got breakfast from The Fried Egg. I found this place located next to the Brewhound Dog Park. I ordered a breakfast burrito which contained eggs, bacon, ham, tater tots, cheddar cheese and tomatillo salsa. It had a rich garlic flavor which I liked. It was very tasteful. The only thing I recommend is that they stuff it with more meat next time it was lacking a little more meat but other than that it was an excellent experience and the service was great and full of smiles. read more

Their chicken sandwich is one of the best around! My husband and I shared The Chick (will never make that mistake again!) and it had a nice crunch, chicken was juicy, and the perfect flavor! The Fried Egg was at our amenities center last Friday and so glad we gave them a try. My husband had the hamburger with egg and he said it was really good. I had the OG which is toasted sour dough bread, fried egg, cheddar cheese, sriracha aioli and bacon. You can choose ham or sausage instead of bacon, but why would you? Bacon is the bomb! I am so happy I tried this truck for lunch today, especially after missing breakfast! I had the best BELT sandwich I have ever had. Everything about this sandwich was great. I can't say how poorly I was treated tonight. The customer service was totally nonexistent. I don't recommend ordering before hand. I had texted about 6:22p and was told a 30-40 min wait. I showed up about 7p. I went up to ask for my order and was told that they had just got it and it would be another 30-40 mins. They said they had other people that were to order before me. Even though I had ordered and already waited 40 mins. There was no effort zero not even a smidge to make their mistake correct. I was told if I wanted food I would have to wait another 30-40 mins. So if you do want to order I recommend taking an hour of your life you'll never get back not to call in. Go in person to order you won't be forgotten. I've had the food before and it was good but service is null and void. read more
