We got a high-caliber review coming in hot off the flat top today. This morning I decided to bless myself with Breakast Bowls and Burritos off Atlantic Highway. These are my number 1 all-time favorite breakfast burritos in the city of Jacksonville. Put these boys head to head with ANYONE and I guarantee they put up a great fight. The truck is owned by a gentleman named Chris, but you're greeted at the window by the people's champ, "Unc". He's been doing this for 7 years and dude is about his business...Unfortunately, he told me that his DoorDash machine was stolen last night, so the phones are ringing off the hook and they are scrambling to keep up with demand. They should have a new machine over the weekend and be back online asap. Regardless of the chaos, Unc treated me with respect and took a moment to chat with me. Today I went with the sausage breakfast burrito. Other popular dishes are the catfish, shrimp & grits, and their new burger & fries. You can't go wrong with any of the food here....I sat at the nice picnic tables outside and had my order in less than 10 minutes. Cute little spot tucked in the Chevy dealership parking lot off Atlantic Boulevard. Plenty of parking. They have two tables in the front of their truck that you can sit at both with umbrellas. Vibe was fun. The people who work there seem to enjoy their job as they were jamming out to music and dancing in the truck. Food came up quick. We both got the large burrito. It was a decent side and filled full of ingredients. I could've gone for a little spice. They did offer hot sauce, but then forgot to give it to us. Salsa also available. Holy yum! I have driven past this place almost every morning and finally stopped. I went with the philly burrito which was outstanding. The salmon bowl was also pretty good if you're in the mood for fish in the morning. It only took about 10 minutes from ordering for the food to be ready, and it was very decently priced. OVERLY SALTY fried food. This is my second time ordering from this business and both times the salmon cakes and catfish were so salty that you can't eat more than 2 bites. The bowls themselves aren't seasoned unless you add the jalapeños which gives the other veggies some acidity and taste. I got the steak burrito another time and it was bland as idk what. No type of salt and pepper on the eggs or steak. The eggs aren't seasoned & neither are the grits...no butter. It seems like they need to lessen the seasoning of the fried foods and up the seasoning on their bowls. Needs balance. Finally decided to give this place a try one weekend morning. I pulled out my delivery app (as I had previously discovered that DD picks up orders from them) and made the hard decision. What was I gonna eat? The traditional eggs, bacon, cheese, and grits sounded great so I went with that but topped with catfish. The driver made it here in record time and I was ready to eat. I was expecting the catfish to be really crispy and greasy but it wasn't that way all. It was fried lightly and really moist inside.Honestly, I could have just gotten catfish and grits and that would have been and excellent southern breakfast. This morning spur the moment, I decided I wanted some breakfast delivered. I decided to try this place out. I ordered the catfish, eggs 'n grits bowl. It was delivered nice and hot. I like the way they packaged it. They separated the catfish from the cheesy grits n eggs. Yeah it was delicious! It was a nice size serving cause I couldn't even eat at all. This is a black owned food truck. I ordered bacon burrito was a decent amount of bacon. You may need to add salt and pepper because the eggs don't come seasoned. On the menu it says veggies .50 cent. I asked for tomatoes and mushroom was disappointed it wasn't available. I also ordered a shrimp quesadilla i enjoyed this one came seasoned and tasted shrimp in every bite. I kept seeing so many people talk about this place on Facebook so I had to try them out. Everything is made to order. One of the employees even held the line to make sure that the grits were fresh so expect to wait about 10minutes for your food. I ordered the salmon croquette bowl and when I saw the packaging it appeared small but they fill the container and it was more than enough! The food was good! Sometimes when I order breakfast bowls at other restaurants, I have to add salt and pepper to make sure it's flavorful; I didn't have to add anything at all! The salmon croquettes were extremely meaty and didn't consist of many fillers. The grits were still fresh and creamy by the time I was able to get home and eat (15min).
