Amazing meal! Probably the best Thai meal I've head in a long time. I tried the spicy chef's special noodle dish with chicken, at a level of 3/5 spice, and I definitely should've done 4/5. We were in Mayport recently so we finally tried Simply Tasty Thai, which is a place we've heard a lot of good things about. They're located at 2292 Mayport Road. We ordered a couple of appetizers to start. I had the Satay and she had the steamed Gyoza. My Satay was very good and I liked that there were big pieces of peanut in the dipping sauce. She liked her Gyoza a lot and really liked that it wasn't slippery like it can be when it's steamed. I had Beef Pad Thai for my entree and I went with spice level 1. I liked that their version isn't overly sweet like it can be elsewhere. I don't really mind when it's sweet but I also like knowing that there's somewhere I can go when I don't want that. I was also pleasantly surprised by the fact that spice level 1 was very easy for me to get through. My wife ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice. 90% of why she ordered it was because it's served in a pineapple! She went with spice level 1 as well and said she could easily go to 2 or maybe even 3 in the future. The rice itself was good and she loved the chunks of pineapple all through it. We both had plenty to take with us which will make for a great lunch tomorrow. I'm glad we finally tried this place we've heard so many good things about. We will be back! He had been talking about getting Thai recently and found ourselves close to Simply Tasty Thai so we have ended up ordering pick up. I went with my classic Drunken Kee Mao work Beef and a level 3 out of 5 heat described as Hot. Our food was ready quickly and had no issue picking up. Once him we got in and I really liked the noodles they used. The only issue is they were not as flavorful as other Drunken Kee Mao I have had. I also had very little heat to it which was a bummer. Again, don't get me wrong, the noodles were good just not 3 we I have had. They do have a lot of other dishes to try that look good though so I could see may self going back. We're probably try something else and get the American Spice of 4 out of 5. read more

Years later, this is still one of my favorite Thai spots at the beach! Located in a strip mall off of Mayport Road there is tons of parking. On a Saturday night around 7 PM we were immediately sat and provided great service. Place was about half full, had a quiet vibe, however, good for large groups as a group of 15 people came in when we were leaving. I was highly impressed with both the curries we got for our table. We LOVE this place. We eat her every two weeks if not once a week. I ordered my food 40 minutes ahead because I know they get busy and it can be later than expected. I go in today and am told someone else with my exact same name picked up my order already. Which is clearly not true. They said we will have it "re-made" in 5-10 minutes. 20 minutes later my food comes out. I mentioned to the girl working the floor and register that I don't appreciate being lied to and that next time to just tell me they forgot to ring it in. I work in the industry and completely understand stuff like this happens, but don't lie to your customers. Everything about this place is so good, except the one girl who I always have to deal with when I pick up food. A place with food this good should not have a staff member like that on their team. Late lunch at STT and got a 5-piece Crab Rangoon and Chicken Tom Kah for appetizer, they were alright, it was a different look and taste for us than other authentic Thai joints. Ordered the Phad Thai Seafood and it was a bit spicy as we only ordered medium spicy. We will just have to take it to-go and finish it at home. Hip hip hooray! I found a great Thai place just eleven minutes from my house. I had the vegetarian appetizer platter and the Drunken Noodle with fried tofu, served in a delicious and delicate sauce with smoky noodles and fresh veggies. The tofu was fried to perfection. Came in for lunch - got the Thai basil fried rice special. Was a bit bummed by the portion size - I wonder if I had paid full price (which was only like 50 cents more) if I would have gotten more. Either way, it was very good (which is why I'd hoped for more!) - lots of fresh flavors. It did lack something (even at Thai hot level spice). This place is understated for sure. I drove 40 minutes to meet a few friends here, who had been here before. It's in a strip mall so it's nothing glamorous on the outside. I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The owner is also an artist and painted many of the wall hangings. Very nicely done! The food on the other hand, the food was absolutely phenomenal and worth the drive. I've been to Thai places that I cannot have their curry because they add cow milk into their "premade" sauce. This place said all of their curries were done with coconut milk, which I believe is the traditional way :). I had the pumpkin curry, pineapple curry, and Massaman curry. I decided to just with appetizers this visit. I decided to order roti bread with peanut. Two of my favorites appetizers. We've only been there a few times but everything we tried had been excellent. We have tried our go-to Thai dish of Yellow Curry with Chicken and really loved the flavor. The Crispy Duck was indeed crispy and delicious. We've also tried several dishes from appetizers, to fried rice to noodles stir fry dishes. Honestly we loved all of it. Our friend introduced us to the Black Bean Sauce under "Nancy's Special". After first bite, I commented to her that it feels like comfort food to me. My mom makes a stir fry of shredded pork and pickled veggie which our entire family loves. We would mix with steamed rice for a very simple but hearty & satisfying meal. This dish, though with different flavor profile, really reminded me of it.
