We were in Mayport recently so we finally tried Simply Tasty Thai, which is a place we've heard a lot of good things about. They're located at 2292 Mayport Road. We ordered a couple of appetizers to start. I had the Satay and she had the steamed Gyoza. My Satay was very good and I liked that there were big pieces of peanut in the dipping sauce. She liked her Gyoza a lot and really liked that it wasn't slippery like it can be when it's steamed. I had Beef Pad Thai for my entree and I went with spice level 1. I liked that their version isn't overly sweet like it can be elsewhere. I don't really mind when it's sweet but I also like knowing that there's somewhere I can go when I don't want that. I was also pleasantly surprised by the fact that spice level 1 was very easy for me to get through. My wife ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice. 90% of why she ordered it was because it's served in a pineapple! She went with spice level 1 as well and said she could easily go to 2 or maybe even 3 in the future. The rice itself was good and she loved the chunks of pineapple all through it. We both had plenty to take with us which will make for a great lunch tomorrow. I'm glad we finally tried this place we've heard so many good things about. We will be back! Years later, this is still one of my favorite Thai spots at the beach! Located in a strip mall off of Mayport Road there is tons of parking. On a Saturday night around 7 PM we were immediately sat and provided great service. Place was about half full, had a quiet vibe, however, good for large groups as a group of 15 people came in when we were leaving. I was highly impressed with both the curries we got for our table. The Green curry might have stolen the show. I loved the tofu in the other curry and would probably choose that again next time. Highly recommend for authentic Thai food. read more

A surprise when you walk through the door. Nicely appointed seating and a comfortable ambiance. The food is good unfortunately they don't have sticky rice. The service is friendly and prompt. It's really nice that they use fresh chilies and not ground chili powder . The pricing is good for the food you get. Late lunch at STT and got a 5-piece Crab Rangoon and Chicken Tom Kah for appetizer, they were alright, it was a different look and taste for us than other authentic Thai joints. Ordered the Phad Thai Seafood and it was a bit spicy as we only ordered medium spicy. We will just have to take it to-go and finish it at home. Hip hip hooray! I found a great Thai place just eleven minutes from my house. I had the vegetarian appetizer platter and the Drunken Noodle with fried tofu, served in a delicious and delicate sauce with smoky noodles and fresh veggies. The tofu was fried to perfection. How have I not eaten here before! I haven't left the restaurant yet and I had to write a review. The restaurant itself is medium sized with about 18 tables of 4-6. We were quickly seated and our waiter was fast with getting our drinks and appetizers. The food came out quickly and hot. We ordered Thai sampler 1, pad Thai and pancit. Came in for lunch - got the Thai basil fried rice special. Was a bit bummed by the portion size - I wonder if I had paid full price (which was only like 50 cents more) if I would have gotten more. Either way, it was very good (which is why I'd hoped for more!) - lots of fresh flavors. It did lack something (even at Thai hot level spice). This place is understated for sure. I drove 40 minutes to meet a few friends here, who had been here before. It's in a strip mall so it's nothing glamorous on the outside. I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The owner is also an artist and painted many of the wall hangings. Very nicely done! The food on the other hand, the food was absolutely phenomenal and worth the drive. I've been to Thai places that I cannot have their curry because they add cow milk into their "premade" sauce. This place said all of their curries were done with coconut milk, which I believe is the traditional way :). I had the pumpkin curry, pineapple curry, and Massaman curry. Not enough great things to be said about Chef Nancy and her delicious food! Authentic, yet personalized!! Being a cancer patient, I'm very sensitive to heat, but I still enjoy FLAVOR! Chef Nancy came to the table and made suggestions and was Right on the Money and cooked the BEST Thai dish I've ever eaten! This restaurant is awesome, as I have been here a few times before. I decided go here again last month one day for lunch. There is always plenty of parking here everyday. I decided to just with appetizers this visit. I decided to order roti bread with peanut. Two of my favorites appetizers. The other appetizers I had were eggs rolls and cream cheese wontons with sauce on the side. Their Thai iced tea is amazing as I love Thai iced tea. The service here is always excellent. I really love the ambiance inside this restaurant, as the have Avery cute doll house right as you walk into this restaurant on display. Simply Tasty Thai is (pun intended) simply tasty. If I live closer to Simply Tasty Thai, I likely would be there on a weekly basis. We've only been there a few times but everything we tried had been excellent. We have tried our go-to Thai dish of Yellow Curry with Chicken and really loved the flavor. The Crispy Duck was indeed crispy and delicious. We've also tried several dishes from appetizers, to fried rice to noodles stir fry dishes. Honestly we loved all of it. Our friend introduced us to the Black Bean Sauce under "Nancy's Special". After first bite, I commented to her that it feels like comfort food to me. My mom makes a stir fry of shredded pork and pickled veggie which our entire family loves. We would mix with steamed rice for a very simple but hearty & satisfying meal. This dish, though with different flavor profile, really reminded me of it. As much as I love trying new dishes, I think this one will alway be on my order list when I visit Simply Tasty Thai. read more

If I could give 1000000 stars I would! What a gem of a place and to think that I've driven past it so many times because it looks so unassuming. I've had many Pad Thais and curries all over the world and these were by far one of the best. The beef in the massaman curry was so tender, the sauce so flavorful. Pad Thai had the perfect consistency and was super aromatic. Portion size was ideal. We also appreciated that everything on the menu had a picture, sometimes it helps having a visual when you order so this was extra great. Had the pleasure to meet Nancy who is so kind and charming. We will definitely be back many times, easily a new fav place. Overall if you're looking for a date night, it's very cozy and feels private. I can also see this as a nice intimate place for groups. Been a long time customer who genuinely believe this is the best Thai food in town. Wife and I went out for a good date night which we don't often get, and we wanted Thai. Walk in and the place is packed. We waited for about 30 minutes because we know the wait is worth it. A couple came in after us and got sat before we did. They waited maybe 10 minutes. Instead of waiting we decided to leave because it ruined our dinner plans. We have kids at home and can't be gone too terribly long.
