If you're on 70 in Missouri, you've seen the billboard - best Punjabi food! Exit 148! - and thought…read moreto yourself "no way, self. Indian food in the middle of THIS part of the world?!" Well, I'm here to tell you: get off at exit 148 and prepare to have your mind blown. The food is amazing. Well-spiced, the naan is fresh, the biryani magical, and everyone is nice. The restaurant itself is a food truck attacked to a giant car port, housed under a giant yellow tent. This sounds weird, but as my photos will show, it's actually incredible. We were there on a grubby 45° February day and you'd hardly know it, chowing down in there on the brightly colored picnic tables atop a well manicured lawn of artificial grass, as trucker after trucker came through to pick up their food. The experience was sublime. You'll discover plenty of unique places to eat out there in this big weird world, and one day I hope you'll find yourself under a yellow tent in the middle of a parking lot full of idling big rigs eating samosas across from someone you're happy to drive across Missouri with, because it's these small joys that make eating your way through life so meaningful.

The service was also excellent with very short wait time for a restaurant meal to-go. They also have a nice covered area with attractive decor next to the food truck if you want to eat your meal there.

My aunt and I saw Jamaican Jerk Hut and immediately got in line for Curry Chicken and Pork Steaks. The Curry Chicken had Curry imported from Jamaica, and has veggies like carrots and potatoes in it. The Pork Steaks were cut up into strips and served almost like ribs... slathered in a Jamaican Jerk Sauce. Both plates came with red bean coconut rice and potato salad. My Pork Steaks were delicious, tender, and flavorful. Not too much fat and had a kick from the jerk sauce. I loved the rice and potato salad too. My only critique is the jerk sauce needed more salt. My aunt enjoyed her curry chicken, although she was disappointed that the vegetables that were in the curry were either from a can or a frozen mix. You know the one with potatoes, carrots lima beans etc. I didn't mind it, however, and therefore, I took her leftovers that she didn't eat. For being a food truck, the service was super fast as well. I think they had everything pretty much made and ready to order, which made the line move fast. I really enjoyed everything and saw that their restaurant location might have oxtail and plantains, which I definitely want to try. I can see a re-visit in my future.

Customer service is piss poor. The food is even worst. I wouldn't eat here if it was the last thing…read moreon earth.

My Experience at Voodoo Sno Today…read more I want to share something that happened to me today at Voodoo Sno. I understand this may have been an isolated experience, but it deeply hurt me, and I feel the need to speak on it. I've been absolutely obsessed with Voodoo Sno for years. As someone with autism, it's a hyperfixation for me during the warm months--I look forward to it every year. Today was supposed to be my first time getting Voodoo Sno this season, and I was so excited. But instead of enjoying my favorite treat, I left feeling hurt, uncomfortable, and unwelcome. When I arrived, my phone was dead, so I sat in my car for a few minutes to let it charge before going in to order. Within minutes, two employees came outside and started watching me. They tried to be subtle, but I noticed. After a few more minutes of them eyeing me, one of them finally came up and asked what I was doing there. What other reason could I have been visibly watched for? I wasn't causing any trouble. I wasn't blocking anything. I was just sitting in my car, waiting. And yet, I was questioned about why I was in the lot--as if I didn't belong there. He tried to play it off like he was just checking to see if he needed to make a snow cone, but if that were true, why was I being watched so closely before he even came over? Why did he keep looking over at me every chance he got? The whole situation made me feel like I was being treated with suspicion for simply existing in that space. This was the first bad experience I've ever had with them, and I can't put into words how disappointing it is--especially considering how much I love their snow cones and how much I've supported them. But after today, I won't be going back. I'm hurt. I'm sad. My day feels ruined when it was supposed to be a happy moment for me. I just wanted to share my experience.
