The quality of the seafood was a very clean tasting seafood. Even the shrimp had a nice clean flavor. And we're you looking for butter? Oh, they do (not) spare the sticks of butter at this place! The potato. Oh yes, I said "potato". I have never had a seafood bowl - have (just) a single potato. The potato tasted absolutely great. But 1 potato? That was a joke - especially after you see what these items cost! The garlic butter: There was plenty of butter. Tye flavoring of the butter, certainly was unique of sorts. Seemed to have (possibly) a chili powder base. And though I thought it was good...I also got tired of the taste, after a bit. The Big Downer at this place: Cost. You see my (2) platters. Add (3) cans of Coke - the cost was $150.00. Yes, that's correct: $150.00. Sure, there's a whole lobster on one of the platters. BUT, it wasn't that big by any means. And let's remember: 1 potato was included in the platter. 1 small red potato, came with it; at that price! Lol. Conclusion: Krustaceans is where you should go - for the seafood boiler platters. A much better combination of quality, value and price.

So, checking Yelp for recommendations, I found Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux - a sports bar with a Cajan/Creole themed menu - and decided to give it a try. My fellow Yelpers did not let me down. Walk-Ons's Sports Bistreaux was excellent. It's loud and, as is typical of most sports bars, it has lots of TVs. This provides for a lively atmosphere. I had crawfish eufotee as an appetizer and it was as good as the eufotee I used to get when working on projects in Louisiana and Texas. For my entree, I opted for a catfish po'boy. Again, it was as good as the po'boys I enjoyed in Louisiana and Texas. My wife ordered the sweet chili shrimp (one of their featured specials). She enjoyed it -- initially - but eventually, the spiciness caught up with her taste buds and she found it a little too spicy. The waitress brought her an extra serving of avacodo that she diced up into the shrimp to cut the spiciness. Overall, she said it tasted very good but she would have preferred a less spicy presentation. Good overall - we will be back next trip through Columbia.

I haven't found a good fried chicken place in over 25 years, and when I bit into the chicken and tasted their garlic mashed potatoes I realized that I had found the next best thing to what one believes grandma's home cook meal would taste like. The side biscuit was a treat to have and went well with honey or their wonderful jam. In fact, my husband and I are certain that their biscuits and gravy for breakfast must be wonderful based on their side biscuit. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly as well. I also noticed how quickly food was served for anyone waiting for their meals after they were ordered. I anticipate that we will be back to enjoy their other food options.

That said, the bacon definitely made up for it--thick-cut, perfectly crispy, and super satisfying. The real star, though, was the biscuit. It had an amazing texture--fluffy on the inside with just the right amount of structure--and the homemade blackberry jam was absolutely delicious. It added the perfect touch of sweetness and really elevated the whole meal. Overall, a good spot with some great elements. I'd definitely come back.

I got the painkiller cocktail that is just straight liquor so there is a limit of 2 per customer so please drink responsibly. Try the flavored lemonades and ice teas as you get unlimited refills which is a great deal! The fried white fish was so crispy and flavorful. I paired it with the green beans and sweet carrots. It's a little hidden away, but honestly, if you have your windows down, just follow the smell of smoked BBQ and you'll find it. As soon as I walked in, the smoky aroma hit me in the best way possible. It immediately made me want something off the smoker, even though I was only planning on a lighter lunch. I sat at the bar and was greeted by Grace, who was friendly, attentive, and quick to bring over a menu and get my drink started. Since it was my first visit and I wasn't overly hungry, I asked Grace what she recommended. She suggested the smoked wings, so I went with those. They came out pretty quickly, and before long I had a dozen golden-brown smoked wings in front of me. They were excellent. The wings had great smoky flavor, were cooked perfectly, and weren't dried out like smoked wings sometimes can be. The portion was generous, too. I only made it through six and saved the rest for dinner, which was a nice bonus. Overall, D. Rowe's made a great first impression. Good food, friendly service, and that amazing BBQ smell from the moment you walk in. I'll definitely be back.
