The owner / groomer clearly prides herself on her work, loves animals, and is very kind. Our dog's paws get a lot of street gunk in them, and she is great about getting it out without traumatizing our pup, which is worth the $40 of the nail/paw trim combo. She's also very specific about haircuts and grooming, wanting any and all input from the dog's owner. There are places comparably priced (for a quick nail / paw pad trim even cheaper) but you never know who's back there and how they're treating your dog. I can say with confidence the owner Helen is worth every penny. Our dog is in great hands!

I came for a walk in to have my dog's nails trimmed. Behind the reception, they have an open area…read morefor dog boarding and then a grooming space with tables in the back. I could see them in back as the groomer trimmed my dog's nails. My dog wasn't injured, but they groomer continually yanked my dogs legs out to the side and upwards to clip and then file the nails. This is unnecessary - dogs' legs don't move that way, and it clearly was causing a lot of distress to the dog. I know that nail clipping is never a dog's favorite activity, but I've grown up with multiple dogs, and anyone should know to treat their paws you can simply bend their legs backwards and up - not straight out perpendicularly to their body. I mentioned this while it was happening. The receptionist also tried to say something to the groomer, but the groomer just continued yanking at my dog's legs. For what it's worth, compared to other dogs I've had my dog is also quite receptive (he doesn't fuss when getting shots at the vet, and lets people touch his paws without pulling away). So while I realize some agitation while getting nails trimmed is normal, what the groomer was causing significant (and unnecessary) discomfort. Again, no injuries were caused (that's why I'm giving two stars), but they could have been, and I won't be bringing my dog back here.

Every previous place we took him to gave up and called us almost immediately to pick him up because he was too frightened, jumped around, and refused to stay still. Because of this, his hair went untrimmed, and after we tried (and failed) to cut it with scissors at home, he became severely matted. He desperately needed a professional cut, and we were running out of options. We decided to take a chance on Zen Animals after finding them online. From the moment we called, they treated us with so much respect. They matched us with a groomer with over 20 years of experience who came out to meet our dog and gave us genuine hope. While our pup wasn't cooperative at first, the groomer's incredible patience and expertise won him over, allowing him to complete the full haircut. my dog got a groom earlier yesterday for around 180$ not only was that kind of pricey and forgot to…read morecutt his nails or brush his teeth as i paid for he comes out with an irritated eye and they gave eyes drops to rinse the irritated eye. he went from a squinched eye to it being shut all the way with mucus coming out within a hour or 2 from leaving so after rinsing his eye again we noticed it got worst and ended up in the Er for an extra price of 500$ now not including cabs to get to these places so his 180$ cutt now got me around 800$ for the day thanks for whatever procedure yall done to mess with his eye this bad just sharing so the next person think twice on a simple groom that could turn into more here . He now have to recieve tobramycin eye drops for the next 7 days along with a cone so he wont try to scratch his eyes out and finally on the way home 4am wow perfect haircutt day

My doggy was looking a lot hairy and a little fat , everyone thought she put on weight but she just needed a good grooming. I arrived at the shop and they did everything from the door. i found that a bit weird but figure it was a covid thing. They called me two hours late to pick her up and she was nice and clean and ready to go. she was groomed well and did seem sleepy or in distress. They did a great job. They had a fair amount of Covid protocols in place , which i was happy to see. The only thing i found a little off was the deposit policy, i have no issue leaving a deposit but the fact that it cant be transferred to another day threw me off. things happen.

I had an item stolen from my home after someone sent by this business was given access to my house to walk my dog. When I confronted the owner, she immediately insisted there was no possible way anyone associated with her business could have taken it. The police investigated. I later learned that the person the business had sent into my home that day had previously worked for another dog-walking business and was connected to a case involving more than $20,000 worth of stolen jewelry and watches. What made an already upsetting situation so much worse was how the owner handled it. She was incredibly difficult to deal with, unapologetic, and refused to refund even the dog walks I had already paid for, let alone reimburse me for what was stolen. When you hire a dog walker, you aren't just trusting someone with your pet - you're trusting the business with access to your home and belongings. Based on what happened to me, I have serious concerns about how this business screens the people it sends into clients' homes. I would never use this company again, and I cannot recommend it to anyone else. If you're considering hiring them, I strongly suggest you think twice before giving them access to your home.
