We're originally from Santa Monica and have a mechanic there that we've used for several years. We needed some work done on our 2000 Lexus ES300 and had planned on driving back to SM from Palm Springs to get the work done. For me, trust is earned through honesty and integrity in actions. "The Garage", and Andy whom I dealt with there, have earned my trust. My transmission went out, pulling into town one recent evening. I was pretty sure it was a Transmission issue from the way the truck was misbehaving -naturally dollar signs flashed before my eyes and fear gripped me. Not being familiar with too many Garages in the area, I checked Yelp. The reviews for this place sounded good so I called and left a message late that evening. My phone call was returned promptly the next morning by Andy, who was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the workings of the transmission, and the overall mechanics of the truck I drive. He did not immediately, steer down the road of costly repair, but rather suggested that the problem could be one of several other, not as costly repairs. I brought the truck in, and he said he would be able to check it out the next day, and would call to advise. Just like he said, he did check it out the next day, and called to advise. Although the problem did not turn out to be the least expensive possibility, it was a much less costly repair than what it could have been. In diagnosing and correcting the problem Andy called anytime there was a development and thoroughly explained what was going on, as well as an estimated cost and time for the repair. He has the knowledge and experience to diagnose, and repair major problems like a transmission. But also they have the honesty and integrity to NOT do unnecessary costly repairs. They fixed what was wrong for a fair price, in a timely manner, and kept me fully informed along the way. They also advised me of any issues that may become problems in the future. They do everything from tires and oil changes, right up to transmissions, They also work on American Motorcycles. The truck seems to drive great now, and i am glad that I have a place to go for repairs, that i feel safe trusting, that does quality work at a fair price. read more

Arrived in town on Sunday evening with a misfiring Electraglide, oh no! And the Harley Davidson dealership is closed until tuesday! No worries, yelp listed The garage and Andy as good ressources. As soon as I arrived at his shop, Andy dropped whatever he was doing and took the bike for a drive, when he came back he put it on the computer to diagnose the error codes but doing so he found an electric cable real loose, that was just the issue, plugged that back in real good and the baby was purring like a kitten again! Andy took it back on a test drive again, and I was good to go. Was charged only $60 for his time and efforts, a bargain I think... highly recommended. read more

1st They have moved to 668 S Eugene Rd Palm Springs Ca 92264. I recently moved from Dallas to Palm Desert. In Sweetwater Tx I lost the 3rd and 4th gears in my Toyota truck 5 speed. It was a challenge driving to Palm Desert. Andy fixed my truck for a very sweet price. I was delighted. Recently I needed a repair to my wheel. Andy had me email him a picture of the wheel to him so he could order the correct parts to fix my truck. I was in and out in 30 minutes. I highly recommend him and hope Yelp corrects his address. We have a 2000 Lexus RX300. The engine was making noise and Andy found out that the engine either needed to be rebuilt or get a new one. We bought our RX300 used but it was the vehicle we wanted. Not having paid much for it with 160k miles already. So we knew going into the project would be a cost. The repair would be probably more than what we paid for the vehicle. However, Andy was straight forward with all options; rebuilt, buy used or new. We opted for rebuilt, Andy had done some work previous for us and he also came highly recommended by the auto body shop. Even though the work did take some time, Andy was thorough and very detailed about his work! We are now extremely pleased and happy that Andy put our machine in top working order; and it will probably run for another 200k miles. Andy went above and beyond any repair shop I have ever dealt with in the valley and give him a "Highly Recommended" for anyone wanting simple tuneup or very complex engine rebuilds.
